Are you seriously make the distortion stronger than before the nerf?

Wow are you seriously buffing the distortion after the nerf?
remember how thanatophobia received +0.5% slowdown after which bhvr destroyed the perk, at this time 1 perk that allows you to ignore 60+ perks and addons will be strengthened immediately after the nerf

I'm not a fan of "us versus them" but when all the buffed killer perks are immediately nerfed, while the nerfed survivor perks make stronger than they were before the nerf (you can literally hold shift w a couple seconds and be guaranteed to get a stack of distortion) it seems extremely one-sided

And that's not to mention machine learning, oh yeah the perk that can trigger a maximum of 5 times per game (actually less since survivors are always working on multiple generators at the same time) was supposed to get a nerf

It's only stronger than it was before the nerf if you actually take chase with the killer which was the entire point of the change. If you hide a majority of the game you're not going to get Distortion value anymore (and that's good, old Distortion was far too effective at that).

30 seconds in chase for 1 token was too much. 15 is fine and Distortion is fine now.

(Side note: I agree that Thana got absolutely destroyed and should be revisited.)

Twitter rioted when distortion was changed. I expect they'll make it start with 3 tokens and gain a token for every second in chase by the end of the year.

Distortion nerf is bad for those who need it.

They usually can´t chase long. So pretty useless. And aura perks are on the rise. Will mostly hurt new players.

It isn't stronger than before the nerf, as long as it requires chases then it'll always be far weaker, more precisely it'll be weaker for those who need it more than the ones who don't.

Most people who used Distortion (contrary to popular belief) were newcomers/casuals/people who knew they would go down in seconds if they got found quickly, so they used Distortion to be able to do gens/go for saves in relative safety, they didn't hide all match, you don't need Distortion for that (after all, there's still threads about "Survivors hiding forever" even after Distortion was killed off, rats will just crouch edge-map and go from lockers to lockers).

Those people who used Distortion to be able to play the game a tad longer and help their team more than if they went down in less than 20 seconds now have no reliable defense against aura-reading, since Distortion now requires being in chase and almost every chases will end rather swiftly and on a hook.

Whether it's 30, 15 or 5 seconds doesn't change much; casuals/newcomers/bad loopers will get minimal value while good loopers who can make Killers drop chase semi-consistently will get far more value out of it. It's a perk to help hide that requires not hiding, they should have simply tied token recharge to gen repairs instead so people would need to do gens to avoid aura-reading (and doing gens automatically puts you in the Killer's path and helps the team).

Well I have been saying that people are blaming Distortion of a playing style of certain people. Its not the perks fault of how people play and people will still play like that even without the perk. I suggested way better way to nerf it to make it have limited uses in a match but devs wanted it to charge in chases and at least they gave it two tokens and not just one and now this buff might make it little bit stronger. Still it will be rarely seen perk that is not that effective when you lose one of the tokens during or after the chase you gain it and if you manage to keep the other it also will be gone in 5-10 minutes most likely if not faster.

Distortion isn't stronger than before at all. You start with 1 token and can earn a maximum of 2 tokens for every 15 seconds in a chase. Old Distortion you started with 3 tokens and could earn back all 3 by just being in killers terror radius, so on a map like Midwich or the Game you could earn them back without even being on the same floor.

Being in the killers terror radius was very consistent and not finicky at all. With chases they are very finicky for when the games thinks you are/aren't in a chase - I've had so many "in a chase..." tome challenges that take longer than they should to complete because of how inconsistent it is to be considered in a chase.

The players that can last awhile in a chase aren't likely to be running distortion, it's the players that are not good in a chase that are the ones that want to avoid being seen by the killer.

Meanwhile old Distortion was bad for everyone else and usually meant the worst player ended up the last one alive with zero hooks.

New Distortion rewards killer engagement with stealth later in the game. This makes it a pseudo anti-tunnel perk at minimum, and a versatile stealth perk if you're half decent at chases.

15 seconds is more than feasible for most players, if it was still 30 seconds then I'd agree it's useless for the people who need it, but if you can't even last 15 seconds in at least half your chases you need to improve or probably shouldn't be playing.

And lets not forget that Distortion was a fine perk for years when it didn't recharge tokens at all.
