I think there is something wrong with scratchmarks again
I'm not sure, but sometimes when i play killer (I bought vecna and I'm only playing him rn) the scratch marks simply never appear, Like, there is no shadowstep, no lucky break, so idk what is happening

If you're playing in the event mode it is likely people using the exploit with smoke bombs that permanently removes survivor scratch marks.

oh, that´s funny

The smoke bombs in general mess with certain killers, if you blink near one as nurse you'll get the smoke effect all over your screen as if you're in it.

When was the last time scratchmarks worked properly anyway?

Scratch colors are easier to see, but the scatter is still a mess.
When playing Killer on an indoor map, it is commonplace to see survivors stretching several meters in a different direction than the corner they turned, and on a map with an up-and-down floor structure, sometimes a scratch of a survivor running on a different floor will appear in front of you.

wait is that something that might just happen or do the survs actively need to do something to exploit this?
I had a match against a Team that seemed to know exactly that there were no scratchmarks there at all even when its been a while since last smoke bomb was used
(If there are steps for the exploit, you don’t need to describe them here as that might be against Forum rules - just curious if its actively exploitable)

Someone posted a bug report with a video that you may find helpful

It is something that "might just happen". There is not really anything to actually perform the bug willingly, so "using the exploit" is a really poor and malicious way of wording it. It can just happen.
(It only happened to me once, so at least from my perspective, it is pretty rare and the Survivor in question was also not aware of it)

2015 during development maybe?
