First impressions of The Plague?
I've been watching a lot of streams of The Plague's gameplay, and I hear most people saying "She's extremely powerful" and "she's definitely going to be top tier."
But I can't wrap my head around why.
She seems extremely weak to me(and I'll tell you why), but I was hoping somebody could help me change my mind on that.
Now don't get me wrong, she looks EXTREMELY fun, and I'm excited to play her, regardless of how strong she is. But I just don't understand why people think she's so strong.
Remember what Bricky said about the golden rule in this meta:
Does the ability help in the chase?
If it does, it's a good killer. (Nurse, Spirit, Hillbilly, Huntress) If it doesn't, it's a bad killer. (Freddy, Pig, Wraith) If it's a maybe/sometimes, the killer is average. (Doctor, Myers, Leatherface)
The Plague's ability doesn't really help in the chase.
She will slow the game down a ton, for sure. But I just can't see her being all that strong.
Think about Legion. They can get a hit on you very easily, but then they have trouble securing the down.
The Plague can get you to the Broken state, but it's a little challenging/time consuming to do, and then after that, she has to chase you like an M1 killer does.
And while I'm on the same page as everyone else in that Legion is terrible, at least they can catch up to you shortly after their power comes back. Right?
Now I don't want to compare the two, because they are very different killers, and she is no where near as bad as Legion.
But the power just doesn't seem all that useful to me.
She gets a ranged attack after a while, sure. But it doesn't last very long, and good survivors will probably be able to avoid it with relative ease.
And she will only get that ranged attack if she gives up whatever she's doing to run back to the fountain.
Then she has to find another survivor and actually hit/down them before the time on the Corrupt Purge runs out.
So why is everyone saying she's so strong? I just don't understand.
I'm not saying this to bash the killer at all, and I mean no offense.
I'm saying this because I desperately want to love the killer as much as everyone else does, so I'm hoping someone can give me some insight I didn't have before.
Again, she looks fun as hell, and I'm very excited to play her.
But someone please convince me that she's powerful.

In a chase she is powerful, like Legion if The Plague wants you down you're going down in 1 hit.
Other than that she has no map pressure because it takes ages to spread the infection and by the time it gets to that point that Survivor has usually cleansed them self so it's not spreading, and it takes 5 seconds to cleanse.
So she can't spread the infection through Survivors, she can infect objects, for 15 seconds. Add-ons increase this time but you'd be better off using other add-ons which increase the rate of the infection.
So infecting objects is pointless unless you're in a chase, she can't spread the infection, the infection is too easy to cleanse and it heals them, outside of a chase on 1 person she has no pressure. Also since she has to go the extra mile to upgrade her power that means she's not good at loops which makes her like Clown who is good 1v1 but not 1vX and no map pressure.

She looks like she should be able to juggle Survivors and burden them with the infection but she can't so her only real play style is in your face on one person until they're Broken. I'm not interested which disappoints me because I love this type of character but their core mechanics are not good enough for that standard.

It makes them broken after a long ass time, the tactic that some streamers are using (running behind a survivor fully puking on them until they break) is ######### stupid because that won't work against good survivors. It's like chainsawing rank20s that are out in the open.

I think she has some room for a little improvement, but I absolutely love the art style they took with this killer.
From what I can see, she is now the tallest killer in the game (if you include the headpiece).
For a game where most of the female killers came from a tragic past or were terrified of being alone, this one wanders around with a sense of purpose and power. She stands up completely straight, walks with confidence and is a woman of power, fitting for her position of a high priestess. I would be absolutely terrified of a seven foot tall woman who is trying to vomit on me and bash my skull in with a censer.

She's strong because of her Partial/Complete counter to Looping. With Corrupt Purge, in the set time, you can injure and potentially down survivors if the time is used wisely. Making Looping potentially useless if you Vomit over walls/projectiles, the long stream of said vomit might go over some walls, but require some aiming. Nonetheless: It still punishes them with the basic version of Vile Purge, while yeah, it makes them ill and does not help with the chase, it makes them easy to find AND gives you more sources to upgrade to Corrupt Purge. If anything, her ability does indeed help with the chase in Small ways. Just not in ways you would expect likely.
Also, I would like to point out the Myers' ability DOES help with the chase tremendously.

Hags power helps her in chase. She chases basically the exact same as Nurse does in terms of how fast she can end it. Shes 4th best btw way above Huntress.

Not only she's able to slow you down after she pukes, but she's even faster than any other killer in the game.
I can't imagine facing a Plague with NOED, HEX RUIN, BRUTAL STRENGTH, and the new perk that blocks gens at tier 3.

She’s an interesting killer. Top tier? No, not at all. A skilled... vomiter (something I never thought I would say) can put a survivor in broken status very quickly and floor them just as quickly. This will take people who want to be serious with the plague time to perfect, but she has potential.
Outside of that she has weak map pressure. She is faster than any female killer in the game at 115%, but that’s all she has.
I enjoy her, personally. Her vomiting brings a gross horror type that this game has sorely needed, and her character model is absolutely stunning. Nothing more terrifying than a seven foot tall woman spraying you with vomit and caving your head in with a censer. Well, except spiders. God help me if that ever makes it in this game.

She's alright, she's amazing in 1v1 and down people very quickly because of the broken status effect and the fact that there isn't much counterplay to it with how easy is it to aim the puke.
She suffers from the same thing as clown tho, which is bad map pressure.
