when a player dc's what determines what type of bot you get?
you know, you can get the wallhack type of bot that literally sees you through walls, or the classic claudette bot that does nothing but crouch around in corners and seems go down in 1 second when in a chase.
what determines what bot you get? is it just a diceroll?

It's either a diceroll like you say, either the exact same bot having some behavioral bug to kink-out.
Alternatively, it may be an MMR approximation of the rage-quitter it replaces.

As a mirror myers player, I can unequivocally say that ALL bots have Wallhacks during chase. As soon as the chase drops they go back to being clueless.
It's not a per bot effect, it's a situational response to the conditions in the match.
Additionally, every bot with a flashlight will eventually stand still and attempt to blind you mid chase.

One of the most wild experiences I ever had in DbD was with a bot in a very good chained tile in endgame that also happened to have Hope and resilience. All the other survs were dead, but it took me forever to down them. I basically 1v1ed this wall hacking bot for 20 minutes. I was playing Huntress and the damned bot wouldn't even let me get line of sight; every counter was perfect. And being 4.4 versus a surv with haste, I couldn't even keep chase going long enough to get bloodlust.
No joke, no live player has come anywhere close causing a stalemate like that in the five years I've been playing. If I didn't know better I'd have thought it was not just wall hacking but reading my button presses.
Eventually I just left and then caught them at the gate, but it was wild.
And yet, it seems like all the bots I get on my team fold like a lawn chair, lol.

I had one of those bots yesterday on The Game as Trickster. Two survivors immediately dc'd. It came down to a bot and a survivor.
I communicated to the real survivor that I wouldn't kill them and soon found the bot. It got right into the downstairs corner of the map behind a staircase and was basically uncatchable. It knew where I was so was always in the right position when I tried to double back. I had to back iff and let it go somewhere else where it was easy to down. The guy I let out must have wondered what on earth I was doing chasing it for so long!

All bots are the same

Yesterday I was chasing a bot that ran to the corner of the map and tried to hide behind a cactus as I watched it go there.
They need a corner avoidance mechanism. But sometimes they loop better than survivors with >1000 hours and your only choice is to make them get their window entity blocked.
