I will just be hanging out candy on Halloween. However prior to that, I once again worked at the haunted house
Like last year, I was mostly behind the giant snake puppet. He lights up, his mouth moves, and he makes hissing noises.
Unfortunately for me, my chronic pain issues really flared up and I determined the snake was just too hard on my body to continue. Thankfully there was only one show left and I was taken out on the floor instead of of being behind the snake (though I feel like the actor who replaced me behind the snake was REALLY bitter about it but I did it for 90% of the shows so suck it up! π )
I went into the clowns train car instead. You can't see it in this light but it has black lights in there so the makeup around my eyes glowed.
We'll see how my health issues go but I do really enjoy working there so I hope to continue to do so.

π€©π€©π€© Oh my gosh you look so creepy!!!! Oh how fun! Did you get to scare the people in the train car? I hope so π
Also hope the fun helped distract from the pain somewhat.

It was our last 18+ night, which generally means actors are expected to touch and interact with guests a lot more. I was still gunshy about moving around too much so I kind of went in a different direction with what I did since the train car is pretty wide open (so hard to do jump scares, it's much more designed for the guy who is normally in there, who has leg pads on and slides down the car to scare the crap out of people but I obviously could not do that :D)
I basically stood in the middle of the train car twirling the big lollipop in front of my face to try to really emphasise the wonderful makeup job the makeup team did. I then would boldly declare that before they are allowed to pass me, one of them must face me in one on one combat. When one of them stepped up, I put my arms out to do rock paper scissors.
If I won, I basically became a little teenage punk who just won at Fortnite. I'd call them losers, yell at them to get out of my train car cause I don't let losers be in there. Tell them they're on the loser train to losersville. Etc. etc.
If I lost, I sulked. I looked at their hand, looked down at mine, looked at their hand, back down at mine, slumped my shoulders, and then tucked myself behind one of the seats mumbling to myself about how this was a stupid game anyway and that they were just big meanies and bullies and that I hope that the clowns (as this is the beginning stage of The Circus) would eat them.
Once in a while a customer would adlib something before I did my challenge so I had to just wing it but I'm mostly good at improv kind of stuff. Like one guy did a mime action when I was standing there so I just reacted to his miming before he "put me in a box" and trapped me. No idea why he thought that up but hey, I'll work with what I get if the customer does something before I get a chance to challenge them.

Iβm having trouble breathing. Itβs too much, this is just so darn funny! π
Wow I feel transported to the scene of the crime reading everything you wrote. This was a wonderful Halloween treat. Thank you π

Happy Halloween! π
We put out bowls for the trick or treaters and then stay inside watching horror movies. Before trick or treat started we watched Halloween 3: Season of the Witch, during trick or treat we watched the original Halloween, now we are watching Trick r Treat.
We do two candy bowls, one that's chocolates and the other fruit ones like gummie bears and Starburst. We also put out some little Halloween coloring books, Amazon has packs that are like 60 books and each one is a 10 page book for pretty cheap - figure if there's diabetic kids or kids that have parents that take away candy at end of night then they atleast have something they can keep from trick or treat.
Just took the bowls in since trick or treat ended some time ago, little less than half of the fruit candy is left and about half of the chocolate candies. Husband is trying to stick to a diet so the leftover candy isn't going to help. π
