Shrink maps and less vaults and pallets

As of recently maps seem to be getting smaller with pallets and vaults either disappearing or being turned into pointless spots where the killer can go around just as easily as if it wasn't there. What is the point of having objects to chase around when they are pointless to use. And before anyone says that you can still loop, not everyone (me included) knows how to or they aren't good at it as it takes time to learn and a sporadic player is not likely learn this. By the time your down to two or three generators remaining the only thing in the maps are the random assortments of rocks and other random objects scattered around. Anyone know what you are supposed to do in this scenario, or are we just meant to fail every chase we are in unless we sacrifice another?

What do you want? Big maps destroy killers like Mikey and Trapper because they are slow AF and have to build up or set up powers.

Then you have killers like Blight and Billy who can cross a map in 3 seconds flat.

They have to make maps smaller or give all slow killers better mobility. And they chose to shrink maps.

Whats the point of having objects around if they are pointless to use? I mean I guess removing LOS allowing you to immerse for a little would be a start. LOS blocking slinger, huntress, nurse. pyramid head, singularity etc. Also you should learn how to loop. Looping is 50% of the survivor game plan. If you can ONLY do gens and healing and last 20 seconds in chase then you become a sand bag to your team because thats just the killer getting their perks faster than your team can complete gens.

Personally I would NOT like bigger maps because then future killers are made to contend with those maps while having stronger chase powers because larger maps usually means more pallets.

Lets be honest HOW many killers can use blood lust? And how many of those that can are considered the better alternative to using their power?

And yet there's loops where Bloodlust 3 + PWYF + Coup won't get you the hit.

I don't see it. Maps are still strong with plenty of pallets and windows to run to.

Yeah but that didnt answer the second part of the question. HOW many killers is it more worth it to just use your power over the 5% speed increase of BL1?

Seeing as you interpret thing with out numbers as if you could you'd see how many. But for you sake 36 of the 37 killers have times in a match where gaining bloodlust 1 is better then using power for a hit. Its purely situational and part of the micromanaging killers have to have to be good at the role.

Let's not do that. Survivors need something to work with.

Small maps in general mean, that the killer is likely going to put more pressure on the survivors since they can easily chase them into each other or switch targets. They also have a much smaller area to patrol, which means that the time spent out of chase is going to be very little.

To counter balance that, survivors need more resources to delay the killer with.

Maps with very few resources allow for less chase time for survivors, which allows the killer to create more kill pressure.

This needs to be balanced with the map being larger, so that survivors have more room to avoid the killer and delay them that way.

Unfortunately, the sweetspot is very hard to nail and we see that with many maps that either do both in favor of survivors or killers. Hell, even when they do it right in theory it can still result in maps like The Game, that are bad for both sides.

You do know that every time a killer uses their power or breaks a pallet, they completely cancel out BL and reset its timer, right?

Are you saying that a killer like doctor is better using bloodlust than their power at a loop? There's a reason why some killers actually benefit from the perk that removes BL entirely, they are basically throwing if they get even BL1.

At a loop he get use from it but chasing between he doesn't as it doesn't slow them but slows him to activate, and on the newer worked maps there is always a bad for survivor area between loops that give more then enough time for BL to proc.

Not to sound rude, but you should definitely be routing better if thats a situation you often find yourself in. You should be routing differently depending on whether they can use their power in chase or not, and keeping track of how long its been since they did an action that would reset the timer. Predropping god pallets is basically a guaranteed BL reset on a good portion of the roster, which makes them great for routing into as the chase goes on if you haven't seen them using their power for a bit.

The only killers who really need BL are M1 killers, especially since they (usually) don't have powers they use regularly in chase to reset the timer. M2 killers (especially ones with antiloop) get BL a lot less often than you might think.

Thats the point I can count on TWO hands the amount of killers that would benefit from blood lust purely because their powers aren't consistent/good enough to cancel it out. A good example would be all of 2023 and 2024 killers are all killers that actively lose blood lust in chase because their powers are worth using and or consistent.

I think most of thread misses the point. the player is complaining that the maps have few resources where the killer will bulldoze through all pallets and than no pallets will remain after 3 gen or 2 gens remaining. it is product of dbd's killer meta currently which is stacking gen defence perks to delay survivor such that they run out of pallets meaning that killer don't need chase perks if no pallet remain.

i am fairely certain bloodlust complaint is linked to the fact that no pallet resources = bloodlust wins every chase by default. even if a strong window exists like jungle gym windows, bloodlust 3 is bloodlust 3 and it will hit end the chase. strangely enough, that is mostly what most m1 killer bank for because pallet loops themselves in many situations are too strong for them to outplay. as result, you get extremes of teams that efficient finish all gens before half the map is used up or games where map factor's the killer to break all pallets to catch-up and win.
