Is Easy Anti Cheat broken again?
Hello everyone,
I know that we have a Bug Report section, but its nearly a week already, so I just want to test the waters here.
Since Monday I can't play DBD due to EAC glitching and crashing my PCs explorer. When I start DBD, after the splashwindow showcasing Soma and Dracula from the new rift finishs loading, nothing happens. I have waited for up to 15min. During this time the PC works mostly normal, but if I try to do anything with the explorer, the explorer crashes, leaving me basically unable to do anything. Once I executed the DBD.exe I also can't no longer power down my PC and have to hard reset.
Various online sources managed to get it working again by opening the EAC app manually as admin and clicking repair, but when I do this, the app just flashes for a split second, before closing itself. When I manually close DBD, I get an EAC error, calling out various windows system files, like nvapi.dll or wlanapi.dll - by running several windows-intern repair programs, they did something with this files, but EAC always finds something new to take offense of. I even did a full clean reinstall of DBD, but to no effect. I never had such a severe bug with EAC and its now 4 days without DBD and I am starting to feel the withdrawl symptoms.
I didn't install any new software and just got a new set of headphones, but I hardly believe that they are flagged or something. I am at my wits end, has anyone experienced something like this? Especially now, during the event? I am a bit sad that I can't complete the event tome, if this keeps up, as the third page released while I am experiencing this bug.
Happy gaming, everyone.

I had a similar bug about a year ago, where EAC would prevent me from launching DBD, and PUBG (which also uses it).
Now, there should be ways to fix it
One possible solution could be this one:- Go into the easy anti-cheat program files, delete the .sys file, restart the game to regenerate the file, and then restart the entire PC.
Alternately, disable any monitoring software (i.e. MSI Afterburner) and try restarting the game.

I presume you have checked your system for viruses?
I/O errors? (check disk)
RAM errors? (https://memtest.org , not the other one)
And you don't have one of the possibly broken 13 or 14th gen Intel cpu?

Thanks for the tips. I/O seems to be okay, I will need to dig for an usb stick around here, to do the mem test.
My CPU is a AMD Ryzen 5 2600X Six-Core Processor 3.60 GHz and I am using a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 … all middle of the road or quite a bit past their prime, but EAC is really blocking me completely these week.

hey there! my girlfriend had that issue for the last 2-3 days. we've tried everything (things you've mentioned and more) literally nothing solved the issue. i've came across this thread and sent it to her and tried something else it's just seems to fixed the problem. hopefully this fixes yours and anyone else having this problem. here's what i did;
go to C: > Program Filed (x86) > EasyAntiCheat_EOS and right click the EasyAntiCheat_EOS, copy as path
win + R to open Run command
Click the furthest right option (idk english writing of it) paste the path you copied
put a space and paste
"install 0367a3a8ea344f08851d76facf6f66d3"
with quotation marks
wait a bit and launch the game. it fixed for my girlfriend, hope it fixes for you too. Lmk how it goes

its either that or anti-virus program interfering
if you have any anti-virus downloaded and running close it before doing what i did

When I had something similar, it eventually turned out to be my firewall blocking things it never did before. I had to manually give EAC permission, and it went fine after that.
Ofc, no idea if what you're experiencing is at all similar, but that's what it was for me.

Thanks a lot for this advise! I did this and tried something else and after the restart I could start the game! Phew … just in time for the last tome page ;D Thanks so much

Done and done! Phew, now I can enjoy the rest of the event in peace and mostly chill. Thank you, kind sir, and best wishes to your GF <3 (in a wholesome way, of course, but I bet you got that ^^)

What a useless comment. Is this Anticheat, that only keeps cheaters out of the game, while never flagging innocent people, with us in the room right now?
