Why Is The New Map Not Coming To Live Servers?
On the PTB, we got a new map, but the Developer Notes state that this map is ONLY for the PTB and will not be coming to Live Servers.
I have to ask… why?
Was the map scrapped and is only on the PTB since it was polished enough to be available or was scrapped much later in development for the Chapter (and we are using an older build for the PTB)?
Or is it just part of the marketing to encourage people to play the PTB?
Like I seriously have no idea why?
The new map does not really fit the eerie vibe of DBD but we have many maps that have that issue (Sheltered Woods after Skull Merchant released, Eyrie of Crows, etc.) so it really does not make sense to not have it. It visually looks REALLY good so Idk why all this time and effort would be dumped into this new map just to not get released?

They said it's for a different chapter. I guess they finished the map earlier than the rest of the content and want to do some testing beforehand.
(that or this is a rehashed previously licensed map that got cancelled but let's not assume the worst)0 -
Wait this was for another Chapter then why include it into the PTB?
Also based on the ice/arctic-theme, it gives me The Thing vibes, so maybe it is for a future collaboration or scrapped Chapter?

if it was scrapped, it wouldnt be added.
it gives off heavy the thing vibes, but has none of that. the lore says it's an abandoned mine sight where some "group" appeared.

Actually this map feels like the old Ormond before rework since its noticable it has a differend darker and more foggy lighthing than other ormond maps and I liked it so much

This chapter was listed with a new map on the roadmap. Where is it?

So, from what I gather, this map is not a part of this Chapter, but will be released to the public before 2025. I took another look at the roadmap:
Judging from this, it both shows that they are fulfilling their plan, yet also not. There will be a new map, but it's not related to the Chapter, which means a new map will be introduced in December, even though the advertising states that the map is a part of the chapter.
It's a little confusing, because as advertised this says a map is a part of the Chapter. Does this mean we are getting another map with this as part of the chapter, with this snowy map an additional map for later?
