The ingame chat censorship is absolutely absurd and needs to be overhauled.
It's borderline impossible to say anything, and more often than not it's perfectly normal and in no way inappropriate to the game.
I just had a game with a friendly trapper and in the endgame chat I tried to say "Bless you Naughty Bear!" only for Naughty Bear to be censored.
I've had to say "gave up on hook" instead of "died on hook" when talking about people being sacrificed because "died", "dead", "kill", and "killed" get regularly censored. IN A GAME ABOUT KILLING. ARE YOU SERIOUS?
In a pregame chat I had just a few minutes ago, a Nea was joking about having a foot obsession by just saying "feet" over and over again. So I tried to joke back with "A whole 8 of them!" referring to our survivor party. And "A whole 8" was censored.
More often than not, the censors are so asinine that they make whatever was said look WORSE than what was actually said. I get that censoring certain words or phrases is preferable, such as slurs and the like, but it's very clear that the censoring is performed by a very poorly trained AI that doesn't even know what it's supposed to be censoring. And it's been like this for the entire time I've played. Why isn't this fixed? Why is this acceptable when DBD is as big as it is?

Make chat opt-in, and then remove the censorship completely. Make chat bans a thing so people can be banned from chatting without being banned from DBD as a whole, but put the rules for chatting right next to the chat box in a little info box.

Yes please.

Just add the function to enable/disable censorship in settings It will be a win for everyone

Yeah, dying and killing being censored is dumb. This isn't a game about rainbows and butterflies.
Also, while we're trying to change Chat features - give us lingering messages before match end. That is, anything said before the trial finishes can be seen by everyone after the fact.

Yeah I agree, it is absolutely ridiculous at times.
I am an adult, I don't need nannying censorship to hide naughty words for me, unlike many people I can handle offensive words and phrases.
Even then, if they have to censor obvious slurs etc then fine, however as we all know, many of the words and phrases that end up censored make literally no sense at all and it can make even a friendly chat close to impossible and incredibly frustrating

The really strange thing is, normal insults show up uncensored. I can't give examples here but you can say words in the chat that would led to a factory reset if you say it to a person face to face.

It has to be a bad AI going haywire, just make a blacklist of words that don't need to be said and you're done. Names of characters like Claudette Morel, random words, and even random letters like "I" are being censored.
