Easy anti-cheat causes blue screen / BSOD
Today I tried playing some DBD, like I usually do, but for some reason every time I try to open it, my pc blue screens. The blue screen is very brief like almost flashing and then my pc restarts so I can't really tell what is up, but the first time it happened it lasted a bit longer and saw it had something to do with easyanticheat_eos.sys . I never had any issue like that until today, and the pc I am on rn is pretty new so I really can't tell what's up. I tried reinstalling the game and deleting the anticheat then reinstalling it, repairing the game from steam, updated my drivers, updated to the latest version of windows 10, but none of that worked. Does anyone have had this happen to them? Is there a solution, because from my research I cannot find any.

Easy Anti Cheat Causing Crashes With Full PC Restart : r/Eldenring

here's some one from rust having the same easyanticheat_eos.sys issue
Easy Anti Cheat Blue screen error HELP! : r/playrust
"So what I did is deleted EasyAntiCheat.sys from Program files x86.
After that I went to Rust installation folder and located EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe and run it. (For me it was This PC/local disk c/Program files (x86)/Steam/Steamapps/rust/EasyAntiCheat) Just so you get the general idea.
Walla the game is working fine now :) .
Reply if it doesn't work I'll try to help looking into it.
Have a nice day, enjoy. :)"
don't know if it will help take this above with a grain of salt but im almost sure there a dbd easyanticheat_setup.exe in dbd folders i could be wrong i don't play this game on pc

Ok, so now there is another problem. When I want to open the EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe from the game folder it doesn't really open. It just quickly flashes on the screen, then closes itself I guess.

did you try the EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe run as administrator and see if that works? right click on the exe and do run as administrator outside of that i'm in the dark as well my good sir you might have to dig around

also to be on the sure sides of things open task manager go on the search bar in task manager and see if easyanticheat is running
0 -
if it's running and you did every steps from above and the EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe executed and you open task manger and you see easyanticheat running in the process from the fresh install you should try and see if you still get a crash after that that's all i can say tbh

yeah no it just opens and then closes instantly, every time I open the game it just blue screens my pc. I am almost certain this is due to easy anticheat. I guess my best deal is to just wait for a new dbd update and see if it gets fixed somehow

it's 100% easy anti cheat you need to remove it from your system flies and then get a fresh install if it dosen't fix it might wonna try to get support from them or see if dbd support can do something but i doubt it easy anti cheat flies should be in your program files x86
like so deleted them completely and then lunch the EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe as admin see if your program files x86 got a fresh batch if it did then lunch the game and see if it still blue screen that's all i can do for you tbh if it still crash then i'm in the dark as you are but you saied that easyanticheat_eos.sys is the cause of the crash well in easy anti cheat flies that cause the crash are in toes files look at this
so yes you need to delete it the entire folder and then execute EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe from the install batch file then see if you got a new batch files from you program filesx86 if it did the odds are you're not gonna crash anymore hoped it helped

in the odds that you still crash there might be something conflicting with EasyAntiCheat_EOS.sys the best way to test that is play a other game that uses easy anti cheat and see if your pc crash if it does you might have something conflicting in the system somewhere that i don't know if it doesn't and it's only dbd then it's a patch they did that put a conflict with your system somehow that involves easy anti cheat then there's nothing i can do

EasyAntiCheat Crashes File Explorer.exe — BHVR
this also found a solutions follow what he say maybe ill work for you

What does the stop code on the blue screen say? That's step 1A with troubleshooting something like this. Otherwise it's complete guesswork. You should see the code towards the bottom of the blue screen

I uninstalled every mention of eac from my pc outside of the dbd folder thinking maybe the files conflict or something?? Idk what I am even doing at this point to be honest xd. So I kinda can't do this

Ok so I installed fortnite since its the only other game I know that uses easy anti cheat and IT WORKS. This is an issue only with dbd which is very weird.

Have you tried scanning your system for corrupt system files? its quick and can cause a lot of issues if there are any.

Easy anti cheat is known to cause these sorts of problems, even to different games from what I've seen. I solved my problem for now, but this is worth giving a try in case anything else happens. Ty for the suggestion

you too!

You’d be surprised how often I run into people with corrupt system files, even on fresh Windows 10 installs. It’s always the first thing I check when something just doesn’t work as it should.
A lot of folks are stubborn about it, convinced their system is "just fine" and then, when they finally check, it turns out there’s an issue, and some even take the suggestion as a personal insult.
Anyway, glad you found a solution!
