The weekend Bait situation keeps getting worse and worse
I've been on the forums long enough to remember when bait would be few and far between, however in the past couple months the amount of new accounts with bait posts created over the weekend has become almost unbearable. They know that the mods don't come here as often during the weekend and proceed to spam the forums. All I want to know is would it be possible to restrict new accounts to a minimum number of comments before they are allowed to post? I'm sure most of the forum would have no problems with that

Why? Aren't we allowed to have weekend laugh session?

Honestly half the bait is so horrible and anyone that takes it seriously needs to chill out. Yes they shouldn't be baiting but the flaws in their arguments are palpable and it's so funny.

Well that's kind of how bait works; their arguments are meant to be disjointed, nonsensical, or contain shocking content like slurs or suggestive words to elicit a reaction.

sure, but it also floods the forums with less important stuff, while more important stuff might get overlooked because of it.

They need a mod that works weekends, simple as.
Unfortunately that costs money.

It's kind of crazy that we have a designated time of week where people know they can get away with anything.
I mean, I guess? But my line for 'I can meme with this' stopped when that insanely racist gif got posted, unfortunately. Gross that it's been up for half a day now.

There are a couple very easy solutions to the problem:
- Have moderators on the weekends. Hell, I'll volunteer to help for free if they let me :)
- A probationary period where new accounts cannot start new posts until after a certain time period AND a certain number of comments without breaking any forum rules.
As long as the mods allow brand new accounts to post at will and don't do any moderation on the weekends/holidays, this problem will continue.

I would be for them linking a forum account to a game account. If you get banned, welp, that's it.. at least for that account. Give people some accountability.
At the same time, they could use that in-game data to let us choose which stats to display about ourselves— not an exhaustive, all-inclusive listing, but maybe some cool stats per rank reset. Rift tier level.. Not just a Killer/Survivor ranking, but a ranking that shows how fast I got to rank 1. Achievements. Prestige counter. Lotta ######### they could do.
Edit- A DC counter would be a little fun too. :)

Honestly I've sort of become disillusioned with these forums.
SO much of what gets posted here is obvious bait that drowns out actual discussions.6 -
True.

If you make a game of it, trying to be the first one to succinctly ruin said bait post is rewarded with a butt load of likes 😅

If you make it so that new accounts need a minimum number of comments before they can create a discussion they'll just spam every discussion with random nonsense just to build up their comment number and be able to post.

People deal with them really well, they levar their upvote on the guy clowning on the ragebaiter and move on

They’re a pretty good excuse to birdpost 🤷♀️

Yes but at least it would offer some level of deterrent as it takes some time and effort to do that. A time limit in addition to the comment limit would be even more effective. Something like a week before you can create your first topic thread seems reasonable to me.
