Demogorgon's portals' buff is still not enough.

I tried placing portals much more, spreading much more macro pressure, but nothing:

  • Portals can be still be cleased waaaaaaaay too fast, and the cleansing speed add-ons for some reason have been nerfed in a way that it's not even worth using them. This is the most painful point perhaps.
  • The speed while Traversing the Upside Down is still too slow basekit, and not worth using. Even with add-ons it's still not good enough. Complete across the map teleports are too slow. Second most painful point.
  • The minimum speed at which you emerge from a portal is too slo, that needs a buff, because the time survivors have to react is still waaay too much even if the portal is hidden. Third most painful point.
  • The recharge time of the power is too slow, effectively not allowing to move freely around the map too often, and the time when you travel isn't effective enough. Fourth most painful point.
  • Portals are still too loud, and the Red Moss add-on's effect should be basekit. Not too much painful, but noticeable.
  • The speed of Opening the portals, both creating a new one and then travelling, is still too slow.

Overall, using Portals as a map pressure tool, still feels almost worthless.

And it's not like Xenomorph, where, even if the Tunnels aren't that good (should also be fixed imo), at least the Tail Attack is good to compensate.

    Ive already made a post about the Sealing Time addon changes, so I dont want to beat a dead horse with it, but frankly the changes to Demogorgon's Portal Speed is not as good as people make it out to be. Like dont get me wrong, it is a buff, but I really dont think it really solves much tbh.

    28 m/s as opposed to a 20 m/s is only a +40% increase, which sounds like a lot on paper, but all it realistically does to Demogorgon is increase how fast you a teleport takes but less than a second in most cases. Let's say you want to teleport 100 meters away, it would take 5 seconds on Live Servers and a little less than 4 seconds on the PTB. Stacking it with Deer Lungs makes it (roughly) 39 m/s but at the cost of two Portals; for reference it is roughly the same speed as Dredge's Nightfall teleport.

    The issue is that you are not constantly teleporting 100 meters away. A lot of teleports Id say are around 40 - 60 meters away (average is a little less on Indoor Maps since you use teleports to climb levels, not for distance), and the difference that 28 m/s versus 20 m/s creates is less impactful the shorter the distance is. Plus Portals are often just used for other reasons (baiting Survivors with the global sound cue, stealth, etc.) so this buff really does not impact those other utility use cases either.

    I completely agree with this, much appreciated comment!

    Having 2 less portals with Deer Lungs is such a massive sacrifice (and if you mess up the position of 1, you cannot remove it yourself), for a benefit that isn't really that good, because the speed at which you emerge from a portal in a minimun distance is always the same.

    they aren't good period. he only got impactful nerf to towards his most important add-on's related to portals.
