Adjustments needed for killers and new patch 8.4

After reading patch notes for 8.4, being a bit disappointed with the new killer and the nerfs and buffs for killers, figured I could suggest a few changes to implement, either this next patch or the future ones.

Cranking numbers can be effective, but, at the same time, feels like a missed opportunity to bring something fresh and cool.

1- The Houndmaster. Perks are ok. Dog is super clunky. She is not on par with the quality of killers we have. It’s like, she provides no horror to the game, it’s a lady with a dog and her “power” is kinda a Deadslinger. Idk. Nothing to do I guess but could be cooler having an actual horror icon or a demon or something instead of this.

How about a demon that possesses survivors making them become terrible at the game? Failing skill checks, hell, maybe even granting the opportunity to appear as something else, give a terror radius to a survivor, idk.

2- The shape. Your “buff” is more like a nerf. The distance to gain stalk at a higher rate is way, way too far, considering most maps lay outs, loops, rooms, second floors and basically any LOS, it’s actually slower. I would suggest raising a bit the amount of stalk you get when close. Also, thinking out of the box, add a fourth degree of stalk that allows the killer to insta kill. Would make it more interesting, you can let survivors focus on gens and bet everything to the end or just pressure with tier 3 during the game.

3- Ghostface- Disable reveal by survivor on hook.

4- The Nightmare - Oh wow, hopefully you guys work on him as a full rework, cranking numbers won’t help that much. Give him a type of nightmare pallet that hurts, improve his teleport, maybe some type of ranged attack while in dreamworld?

5- The Onryo- Give some type of aura reveal to Sadako paired with condemns, something more reliable. She is stuck running decent perks to have a chance and having to neglect information perks. Her info add on is bad. Her lullaby is crap, make it non directional. Her power is easily countered with no penalty. How about helping her chase power? Simple, make her intermittent invisibility grow in power as condemn or gens are completed, her anti loop would become unique, like a mind game killer. Fix the bug of her invisibility. Injure a survivor when he gets full stacks, give some type of timer to deliver a tape, something. She has the worst iridescent add on in the game, improve it.

Dracula- Hellfire nerf was unnecessary, the only thing needed was a nerf to bat form.

Trapper- Allow him to start with at least 3 traps and add one more to the map.

Spirit- Lower the volume of her moans, makes it imposible to track at times.

Pig- Lower a bit the amount of time it takes for the trap to go off, it’s a miracle if someone dies from it.

Grant players that reach 100 to purchase whatever add on they want freely and or give them a new cosmetic piece.

Finally, consider interactions and outcomes with the new perk of burden, how will it interact with “make your choice”? What happens with certain swf or competitive teams? How will it affect the game meta?

Just some ideas.

Personal recommendations to your team:

Do not compromise depth for simplistic solutions.

Guide your updates by what is possible to achieve when playing at a good skill level, every player will get better. That’s the whole point and part of what made you successful.

Do not give in to players who want an easier time, the game is supposed to be hard, surviving should be an accomplishment. People need a sense of achievement.

Learn from what you did this year with 2vs8. Dumbing down the game is not the answer, neither is turning the scale to survivors. Killer is the class that has more depth, don’t butcher it.

Impulse competitive DBD. You have all the right tools.

Monitor professional players to balance the state of the game. They provide great insight with what’s needed to win a match.

Hag- Make her a bit quicker. She is a very fun killer but unless they trigger a trap and you insta hit survivors she struggles a lot. Make a penalty for survivors stepping on purpose on multiple traps. Maybe a weak hindered every trap they step in that gets stronger as they keep falling in traps.

Alien- Fix the tail in the latest cosmetic, blocks the view.

Get us Jason, Annabelle, Art the Clown or IT. Would be awesome.

Yes, just like "nerf killers", "buff survivors", "nerf survivors", "fix the maps already" are all the same old same old. Doesn't mean that some killers don't need buffs, just like "nerf killers" being same old same old doesn't mean that Nurse or Blight doesn't need a nerf.

I am making suggestions in what I tried so far, killers i think deserve an update, and general reccomendations I PERSONALLY believe matter. Now, is not a debate nor a discussion, anyone can suggest whatever they want. If BH reads and somehow takes it a little bit into consideration, thats fine.

I am SO TIRED of the survivors vs killers debate, for those, check the 1000000000 posts about that.

Do NOT lower the timer of the reverse bear trap on Pig.

They can be incredibly lethal if rng is right and the killer played it correctly.

It's good where it's at right now.
