“Killer Concept Proposal: The Chronomancer (Time Manipulation Killer)”

Hello Behaviour Interactive Team and fellow players,

I’d like to share a killer concept idea called “The Chronomancer”, a time manipulation killer. This killer introduces unique abilities and strategic gameplay that I believe would offer a fresh and exciting experience to Dead by Daylight. Below is the detailed proposal:

Killer Overview

Name: The Chronomancer

Speed: 4.6 m/s

Terror Radius: 24m

Height: Tall

Special Ability: Temporal Preservation

1. Residual Slashes

•The killer’s basic attack does not deal direct damage but creates a “Residual Slash.”

•Residual Slashes:

•Activate 3 seconds after being placed, dealing damage.

•Cannot exist within 6m of another Slash.

•Auto-destroy after 30 seconds.

•When destroyed, all survivors within 24m gain a 30% hindrance (movement, repair, healing speed) for 30 seconds.

2. Unstable Spacetime (Detonation Ability)

•The killer can detonate all Residual Slashes at will:

•Survivors hit gain 1 stack of Residual Slash damage.

•Reveals survivors’ auras within the Slash radius for 5 seconds.

•Cooldown: 45 seconds.

3. Butterfly Effect

•The killer can target a specific survivor:

•The survivor gains 1 stack of Residual Slash damage.

•All generators within 48m of the targeted survivor regress by 15%.

•Cooldown: 70 seconds.

4. Time Freeze

•All survivors are frozen for 8 seconds (no movement, repairs, or actions).

•The killer gains:

30% haste.

•Residual Slash damage increased to 2 stacks.

•Slash cooldown reduced to 2 seconds (normally 3 seconds).

•Cooldown: 60 seconds.

5. Relativity Spacetime (Passive Ability)

•At 360 seconds (6 minutes), all survivors receive 3 stacks of Residual Slash damage.

•At 720 seconds (12 minutes), all survivors receive 4 stacks.

Unique Perks

1. Chronostasis

•When a survivor sees the killer’s aura:

•They gain a 10% hindrance to movement and repair speeds for 20 seconds.

•The survivor becomes highlighted (red aura visible to the killer).

•Cooldown: 45 seconds.

2. Dimensional Transcendence

•The killer marks the first locker they open, which becomes visible with a yellow aura.

•Upon opening a second locker, the killer teleports to the marked locker.

•Does not activate if a survivor is hiding or if the killer is reloading.

•After teleporting, the killer gains a 2% haste for 5 seconds.

•Usable twice per trial.

•Cooldown: 120 seconds.

3. Irrevocable Tragedy

•Survivors who heal become afflicted with a random debuff 10 seconds after healing:

9% slower repair speeds and 6% slower movement.

Revealed in red aura and gains exposed status.

15% slower healing speeds.

Deafened (cannot hear heartbeats, skill check sounds, etc.).

•Survivors who experience this debuff also suffer a permanent penalty:

•Skill checks become reversed and increase in frequency, speed, and difficulty by 25%.

Thank you for taking the time to read my proposal. I believe this concept adds strategic depth and a fresh gameplay experience to Dead by Daylight. I welcome any feedback or suggestions from the community and developers.

2 list of effects ⇒ why 2 distinct lists ? It is a lot of effect to learn.
Very complicated to know & identity all of these effects…

Some are unique but globally there is a lot of similar effects = slower movements or slower repair/healing.

But what is his main special ability: Temporal Preservation ?

  • Thank you for your feedback!

Regarding the two distinct lists of effects:

•The first list refers to temporary effects triggered by specific actions, such as healing. These are short-term penalties designed to add immediate pressure.

•The second list applies permanent skill check adjustments after a survivor is affected by the temporary effects. These ensure long-term impact and make survivors adapt their gameplay over the course of the trial.

I understand that some effects might feel similar (e.g., slower movement/repair). I aimed to provide a balance of unique mechanics (e.g., reversed skill checks) while ensuring simplicity.

As for the killer’s main special ability, Temporal Preservation is the core mechanic. It involves “Residual Slashes,” which delay damage and can be strategically detonated to disrupt survivors. Additional abilities like “Time Freeze” and “Butterfly Effect” further amplify the pressure by introducing unique spatial and temporal challenges.

Does this explanation address your concerns? I’d love to hear any suggestions for simplifying or refining these mechanics further!
