Why is "AFK" a reportable offense if no action is taken?
I had a killer teammate in 2v8 who was AFK the entire match, from start to finish. Their aura never moved.
I made an in-game report and followed up with video evidence.
The report was declined:
Whilst we appreciate your support for the game and your desire to make the game a more enjoyable experience, it is with regret to inform you that we are not able to process your report.
Please note that any players who remain afk for too long in the game will be automatically disconnected and any disconnection in-game will be handled by the disconnection penalty system. Hence no further action will be taken on reports.
This is demonstrably false in so many ways. The killer was not disconnected, I did not get a killer bot to replace them, and being AFK is listed as an offense.
So either the code that handles being AFK for "too long" (whatever that means) is not working correctly, or this person was gaming the AFK system by moving just a bit every so often to avoid being kicked.
In either case, action should be taken.
Shame on you, BHVR.

When I'm waiting 15 minutes to get a game, absolutely. The least you can do if you're queuing killer in 2v8 is play the game.

didnt matter. The mode is so absurdly survivor sided that you would have lost anyway.

I don't disagree, but that's still not the point. If I want to play solo I will… play solo. The point of 2v8 is to get silly plays with your teammate, not watch them stand in one place the whole match.

Half of this forum (being generous here) simply ignore whatever the topic is and just plop something like
"No matter. Survivor sided. Reee" Bhvr needs a forum 'irrelevant post' filter.
Anyway, I tried my first killer game yesterday for 2v8. Waited in queue 17 mins, as expected. Killers washed and game was over in like 6 minutes.
If I wanted the actual play time of 1/3 of the wait time, I'd stand in line at an amusement park. Im glad they tried this mode again, but just no thanks.
And now we can't report anything pretty much. It honestly doesn't bring in any money so. Can't say Im surprised.

Pretty sure the one way people have been able to actually get suspended for being AFK is if it's a consistent pattern that points towards basically afk farming iridescent shards. Not an isolated game, but repeatedly queuing up just to be afk over and over.

At least you got a response to your report lol I've gone to the effort a few times of recording/uploading survivors teaming up with killers to troll and reporting them. I don't get a reply and no action has ever been taken. Some stuff may be "against the rules" but not enough for the devs to care so honestly, unless it's a hacker then I wouldn't waste time reporting anything.

The report section i feel is really outdated. It says stuff like afking or ragequiting. Both of which have a solution already and I don't think I've ever gotten anyone banned for either lol.

Had this happen to me afew days ago. Was pretty infuriating... I just did the best I could with my Trapper, but didn't amount to much at all and the survivors sure didn't take any pity.

If you are playing alone, why play the 2v8 mode? Why not the 1v4?

That's like saying "if your playing alone, why play soloq survivor". The gameplay in 2v8 is different and the killer experience in 2v8 feels different than in 1v4, even if your not talking.

Sure, but why expect anything from a solo queue teammate? If you really don't wanna rely on a partner just play solo. I'm pretty sure you would not need to open the thread if you were playing 1v4.

You're doing it again... There's more to 2v8 that's different than JUST having a killer teammate. Playing Trapper in 2v8 is not the same as playing Trapper in 1v4. Weirdly enough, he changes allow him to be played much more aggressively. i also don't think it's unreasonable to expect the other person who queued up to at least move. I don't expect every random teammate to be equally skilled, but they SHOULD at least be present.

I expect survivors to ALSO be present and not AFK all match. Why are the most basic of expectations too crazy for you? I'm not claiming anyone should play the game a certain way, just if they queue up...they should play the game.

Qs are long enough that people are legitimately not coming back in time. I have a feeling you knew that already though and are just venting.
It does suck though, waiting ALL that time just for a game like that. I'm sorry to hear that.

AFK Matchmaking Bans are done by an automated system.
If you sit too long AFK as Killer, you get kicked. If you sit too long AFK as Survivor, you get AFK Crows, and by proxy, killed.
Is it the best system ever? No. It definitely has flaws. But a system is at least there.

Sounds annyoing maybe he/she fell asleep^^…what happend to me was a lil bit more annyoing imo. waited 15+ minutes then got kicked out for some reason which had nothing to do with my connection…..i did not q up again and played D2R^^

It's not a bannable offense, but still reportable.
It's mentioned so that people who want to report people for AFK, can sort their useless reports themselves instead of BHVR taking their time to investigate.

Queue times are long, and people might fall asleep or forget that they even queued up. It’s unfortunate when it happens, but it is what it is.

Wouldn't it be nice if there was something on this forum where every time someone started trying to make a "this game is XXX sided" comment on threads where it was completely off topic they got some sort of penalty? I don't care which side is making that statement.
