Bill used to be arguably the best survivor?
When Bill released he had two perks that helped with two of the biggest issues in old dbd which were slugging and tunneling (and still are), if Bill didn't release it could have drastically affected the amount of survivor players and newer players because there would have been no counter to slugging and tunneling. And yes I'm aware of DS but back then you'd have to spend money for it so you'd pretty much have to spend 5$ so you don't get tunneled out super easy (Plus DS wasn't even fully a anti tunnel perk then) then Bill came in with Borrowed Time and Unbreakable which were free and helped a decent amount back then, especially Borrowed Time. I don't think Bill is appreciated enough for what he brought to the game despite two of his perks being meta for a long time.

Tbf, they got an Anniversary skin before a lot of other characters, and Ive seen a lot more Bill players since. Bill has good perks, but they also dont have much to use in the cosmetic department, often Survivors with more outfits tend to be used.

I think Laurie and Meg are better answers than Bill, tbh.
Especially Meg.
There have been other survivors with powerful perks like Claudette, Gabriel and Mikaela but Laurie and Meg are almost impossible to beat.
Don't even remind me. That was genuinely miserable if you played a M1 killer.

Idk I dont think you can beat a sprint burst that regens mid chase with maps that were loaded at the time. Sure you could tank 1-3 hits a match with mettle but that was during a time where maps had significantly less pallets.

20 second sprint burst that recharges while running> old MoM

Bill is too tired to be the best anymore. Just let him lay down for goodness sakes.

He did lay down, right after three tanks visited him

Jake won it for me at first but all 3 of his perks became rubbish. Jake gave that feeling of a sneaky person who knows to ruin someones day sneaky and quiet
Now iron will and calm spirit is okish not great. Sabo is worthless with the 50+ hooks neck to neck on all maps.

Borrowed Time and Unbreakable have always felt like game changers.

I wish we could get more L4D skins. I would adore a Coach legendary skin, but I'd also settle for more outfits, like giving Nick's suit to Ace.

I dont believe maps had the main building loops reworked yet, but they definitely had more pallets than today.
Also MoM could only tank 1 hit, after which it revealed your aura

Laurie was definitely the best Survivor with old DS and OoO.
You didnt need to be hooked for DS, and had the option to save it if you saw a teammate was going to go for a pallet or flashy save which was much easier since pick up times were A LOT slower.
And then theres Object which is without a doubt the strongest info perk in the games history. Until Undetectable was released the only killer that could counter it is T1 Myers since he had immunity to any detection perk.

BT was such a must-run that it became basekit.
There's a part of Bill in every game now….. o7 soldier

Laurie
Meg
Bill
Those used to be the big three characters to watch the Shrine for or to level up to P3. DS and OoO were crazy, Adrenaline and SB were really really good (and QQ was underrated) and Bill had UB and BT.
