2v8 shows that the game is better without the attemp unhook

Scared of 4%?
4 -
Thats a MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSIVE buff to killers
7 -
Basekit rate would be ~11.5%, which would increase to ~39.4% with Slippery Meat (assuming no changes to that perk). Giving these odds without the downside of going second stage would be incredibly busted.
2 -
You also said that it would render (misspelled, btw) the luck perks and offerings useless. I used ‘up the ante’ as a humorous example of how luck perks are already useless and that they could be reworked if self unhooks are removed. See the correlation? The rest of my post responded to how you think that removing self unhooks would do nothing to stem people rage quitting games and I provided a counter argument as to why it would.
From someone calling me a clown and telling to me actually read, that’s pretty damn funny, since you clearly need to take your own advice. Have a nice day!
1 -
So basically set it so EVERY survivor will try to unhook themselves since they might get lucky and there's no downside?
5 -
Just make it so you can't self-unhook unless everyone is down, hooked, dead, or you have an active perk that grants self-unhook. Those are the only times you should be self-unhooking.
2 -
Good. Hooks are currently in favor of Survivor.
2 -
Maybe a small bloodpoints multiplyer that keeps going up each round until you disconnect or die by your own hand on a hook. Resets completely if you do. Some kind of incentives to make people more likely to tough it out and try to keep going rather than just "aww its wesker.." and disconnects. even something like 1 auric cell per person that makes it out of a round or for each kill per round , once reaching a certain number of rounds (not saying all in 1 day either). Just something that can reward you for playing instead of giving up

It's not really 4%, is it?
it's 16 attempts for free, every game…
I was never good at probability, but that should be 51,3% chance to happen at least once. Any math genius here to validate this?Thats a MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSIVE buff to killers
but massive buff to survivors is fine. Funny…
1 -
2v8 doesn't show jack ######### other than these extra game modes fill player's head with nonsense ideas that would be disasterous in 1v4.
2 -
Slippery Meat needs to me meta for this to actually be true. One less spot for any exhaustion perk, Unbreakable, Adrenaline, Made for This, WoO, Resilience etc
1 -
Yes
1 -
If they do just go back to the hook, nothing is preventing tunneling anyway
And not everything needs to be killer sided in this game
2 -
Or, how about, leave everything like it is right now? Don't even change anything, keep the "suicides". People who don't want to play the game will find other means to throw the match in the first place, so why bother?
5 -
you:
"removal of 4% is massive buff for killers"
also you:
"4% unhook for free is completely fine change"
lol3 -
Using idle crows to punish people is a terrible idea as long as killer can slug survivors for longer than 90 seconds (the time it takes for 3 idle crows to appear). Unless BHVR is going to give survivors basekit Unbreakable to prevent this or just remove slugging entirely idle crows should never be the deciding factor in whether a survivor is given a DC penalty.
Killers constantly complain about survivors moving around when slugged because they "can't find the survivor where they left them" so now you're leaving survivors in a lose/lose situation of wasting time not playing the game when slugged. Either the survivor moves to avoid DC penalty from idle crows and killers use that as an excuse why they "had" to bleed out the survivor wasting 4 minutes of the survivors time OR the survivor stays in the spot the killer downed them so the killer can easily find/hook them but they end up with idle crows after 90 seconds and they get hit with a penalty of 5+ minutes. Either way the survivor is not able to actually play the game for an extended period of time.
Killers have already increased slugging thanks to YouTube videos that have encouraged them saying this is the best way to play killer, they don't need more encouragement by knowing they also have the ability to force players into a DC penalty from idle crows.

It's still just a 4% for all 16. It doesn't change the more attempts tried, only the offerings and up the ante change the chance any. Anyone that plays any RPG with low drop rates will agree unless the game adds bad luck protection that 4% can hit for you the first try or not till the 10000 try.
1 -
So who will I trust more, math or your made up story?
Unless you want to prove me wrong with probability calculation, there is 51,3% for this to happen at least once. That's not really low chance and self-unhooking is big deal, there is a reason why deliverance is one of best perks in DBD (at least for SWF).
Get your arguments straight, either it is so a low chance and it doesn't matter, in which case we can as well completely remove it, or it is a big deal and it should never be for free.3 -
Yes the probability math does add up like that that, but even once you hit the supposed 100% chance and it doesn't hit your math also fails even harder. Cause that's all Probability math is fake hope that a static % changes on repeated use. at the end of the day a 4% is always a 4% on every attempt.
Best example is in WoW there have been people running the Eye raid for 28 years for the mount that's a .1% drop on 11 characters weekly and still haven't seen it drop once. After less then 2 years they should have seen it with your math.1 -
It's still simple, is 4% relevant or not? If it is so small as you claim, we can get safely rid of it.
Also funny to compare .1% with 4% and act like it is same. Also % in games, don't always work same.2 -
Now your putting words that aren't there in my post. Never once did I say it was small or should go. I in fact like the 4% as i've had a few times it worked well for me to unhook and run to the gate just before it opened. All i did was refute your bad math style.
1 -
Yes
And also me:
"Just don't change anything and leave it as it is", it's also fine
3 -
Honestly, I'm also okay with the luck mechanic to benefit killers as well. Any luck offering and Up The Ante should increase the chances for the killer to gain something, like faster bloodlust in 1 chase, faster break action or anything else that is not that game breaking.

It doesn't need to be meta for those numbers to be true at all. Even the basekit rate would be not a small buff without any downside. If 4 survivors are hooked at least once and they all get 3 free attempts to unhook with a 4% basekit rate, this means there's a 38.7% chance of at least one free unhook per game.
If you add Slippery Meat to each survivor, this increases to 86%.
This idea is a non-starter, unless the odds and/or number of attempts are changed. And even then, it's all reward and no risk.

might as well get rid of the hooks and put the cage solve like 90% of the game problem lmfao

you could also pretend you're trying to "play" by playing badly and dying anyways it doesn't get ppl to stop getting out of the game it just adds a slight inconvenience overwatch did exactly that and ppl did the bare minimum and pretended to be bad at the game and it works because in the end of the day you can't proved if there a good player or a bad players and poor performance is not a ban able offence it doesn't fix the issues only displace it to other means witch you get even less of a way to know if they did it or not on purposes

Not a bad idea honestly. Camping would be gone. A bunch of insanely OP survivor perks would also be gone. Seems like a fair trade.
2 -
Just figured I'd do you both a favor and give you numbers. The chances of any individual self unhooking without any assistance is 11.5264%. If you look at this for the whole team instead, the chances of at least 1 person unhooking would be 38.729024267023%. Have a good day.

Yeah as soon as they fix MMR or remove it and actually add a skill based system.

Why botter with the dc penalty? its so simple IT MAKES THE GAME BETTER
1 -
I'm okay with no DC penalty for the first DC of the day. Then it should increase to 1 minute for the next 2 DCs
2 -
Mind to give me how you got to 38%? I wonder where I made mistake.
and if I tried several online calculators, I usually got 47.96% chance0 -
I'm okay with 10 minute DC penalty for the first DC of the day, then 1 hour and increase with each DC. Which works if we make some additional changes tho:
- when survivor gives up on hook, it gets replaced by a bot.
- when a survivor DC, everyone else can DC for free and keep their current BP
- create give up system, so you can basically DC for free in specific situation (very long game, lot of slugging, survivors not doing gens etc)
Letting players to DC more is definetly not fix for anything. People DC just for getting outplayed, it's highly pathetic and shouldn't be encouraged.

It was an example, i'm saying they already have a detection system, so it is possible to detect AFKs. They could obviously add a system on top of that that detects the circumstances of the crows before it being valid for a punishment.
But turning this into a "whataboutism" is a fallacy. We are talking about punishing people for griefing.

10 minutes? How to kill a game step 1
2 -
1 - (1 - 0.04)^12 = 0.38729024267023
I used 12 because the total number of attempts for the team would be 12.
1 -
they could just make it so unhook attempts dont waste progress and missing skill checks doesnt kill you or reduce your timer either. At this point its desperately needed
0 -
I highly doubt that, if you implement my suggested features to fix extreme situations where DC is required.
If this make players without any self control leave DBD, I am fine with it. Would improve the game for everyone else.
10 minutes is not really that extreme anyway. Dota has 15 minutes, if I remember correctly and you can also get into Low Priority Pool (so you play with other players who DC).Low Priority Pool would be very good feature with low DC penalties.
