Let’s talk about haddonfield

Haddonfield has been notoriously known for being incredibly survivor sided. og haddonfield was one of the worst designed maps we’ve ever seen and the first rework wasn’t that much better either. Going from god buildings with balanced landing to god buildings with double windows it was almost inevitable that bhvr would nerf this map again. But this most recent rework I think they went a little too far in the killers favor, first off they shrinked the map to one of the smallest in the game (top 5 fs) and they gutted majority of the houses and even flat out removed the one next to main. the pallet count is a little low for how small of a map haddonfield is now and the rng is so terribly bad that the middle of the street can have only 1 to 2 pallets. The filler pallets on edge map are so bad that you NEED to get the stun to get some sort of distance but the pallet consistently is so bad that you probably won’t make it to the next pallet. On nightlight, haddonfield is amongst the top 5 most deadliest maps in the game so I can only imagine would the real stats are. imo to buff this map to make it balanced (not killer nor survivor sided) is to A) reintroduce the building next to myers since it’s a huge dead zone that takes up a 5th of the map. B) increase the maximum pallet spawn and make it so the consistency of the pallets are better at spawning in good places and so the edge map fillers can’t override the spawn of a car loop next to edge map because it’s really frustrating when the bad edge map pallet is the reason why a loop didn’t spawn at the front of the house or at the end of the street. C) maybe SLIGHTLY increase the size of the map or add more fog to it. It’s way too small and you can pretty much see the killer the whole time unless they’re behind a house. D) maybe buff the houses very slightly so there’s a reason to go to other houses besides house of pain and main building.

Those are my thoughts and suggestions on current haddonfield and I would love to hear your ideas and suggestions on this map too!

This map us my insta-dc as survivor. There is absolutely no reason a map should be this small.

Midwich and Haddonfield are maps where regardless of what role Im playing it instantly ruins my mood since the map(s) is so poorly designed and the gameplay it has is just unfun.

    • Haddonfield is a "difficult" map for survivors, but never like the Dungeons & Dragons map. Killers realized that they should NEVER go down into the dungeon and ALWAYS stay on the upper floor, therefore automatically winning the game. For me D&D map is the worst map in the game (my opinion)

I agree completely, it's laughably bad, and if you're facing a killer like Blight for example, it's a painful experience as a survivor.

I dislike the overall look a lot.

The original looked so much better, with the road not being as wide, the lighting being incredible, it felt like an actual suburban street. But now, it looks like a highway with few houses put here and there.

My take is: Go back to the original iteration of Haddonfield, remove some of the busted stuff (long fences and infinites, etc.) and go from there based on how the community will react.

I miss the old Haddonfield but completely understand why it had to change. Nobody wanted this version though
