Current state of 1v4
What whole Youtube is talking about is right this. The chill players go and play 2v8 while 1v8 is rotting in these lobbies. Please do something about this, BHVR…

You got one more day before the chill players get forced back to the 1v4.

Thank F for that

Instead of relying on chill players maybe we should nerf those syringes and some survivor perks.

I agree about the ultra rare items nerf. The perks are fine I think. The problem is that when a survivor reaches P100, the ultra rare addons become common in the bloodweb, like 2 items every level…

Someone speaking sense; Survivor items are a little too good for how easy they are to get.
I think the perks here are fine though. The problem is that some addons and items when combined, especially toolboxes, give too much value. I genuinely do not think BNP needs to be in the game anymore with some of the perks we have, and I think all the syringe addons need to be toned down. Or maybe we need to limit some items to being the ONLY item, the way Killers bringing Blight Serum are limited.1 -
That is what happens in a horribly balanced game. Survivor is not playable in 1v4 unless you are a 4 man with no life. This is all thanks to killer mains and the devs following dictation.

Huge exaggeration. Survivor is surely still playable, a good team can still win even against very good killers, as long as the killer isn't Nurse.
Solo survivors could definitely use some improvements though. And matchmaking could also see some improvements, but that's besides the point of balance.

If you need a perfect team, using discord call outs then the game has serious problems. It's actually an exaggeration to say that is fine.

You don't need a perfect team though. A good team can keep up with a good killer.

Yeah, even in solo queue with no comms all you need to be cooking with gas is 3 good teammates. Not god-tier teammates, just good.
Of course, the problem is that MMR rarely gives that to you. But the "you need to be on Seal Team 6 to win" stuff is laughable.

Im surprised that people even want to play 1v4, to be honest.

Yup matchmaking is definitely part of the problem. Though I fear it's not the problem exclusively when looking at the lack of skill of teammates. I really think the game needs a much better tutorial for survivors that actually teaches the fundamentals on how to play effectively.
Too many survivors just don't know how to play the game effectively, and you can't really blame them, considering how hard it is to get started with the game and learn it.

the perks are not the problem swf is, four solo players are not gonna play with this addons, only swf stacks themselves like this

I play solo q survivor and as long as I have competent teammates, my matches are typically fun and competitive. The problem is matchmaking where I am getting matched with brand new players (<100 hours) ALL THE TIME, no matter how many times I escape. Game balance is not the problem - it's matchmaking.

It seems like some killer mains don't want to play a game where it's possible to lose which is how 1v4 ended up so bad for survivor. If 2v8 became permanent no casuals would ever play 1v4 again.

Sees us VS them:
Hello darkness my old friend
Regarding the topic, this is the problem we are heading towards since the games release and, as I said under another post already, it 8s becoming more apparent with the release of casual game modes like 2v8.
Optimisation- and winning - oriented players VS people that value a fun experience over winning.
With the overoptimisation of comp dbd dripping into live servers via the players themselves, streamers and youtubers aot of people just want to win these days. It's what the game has become over the years.
The other side wants to play the chaotic core idea of dbd. A survival horror asym. This being provided in 2v8 for example.
It's slowly but surely time that bhvr takes their stance towards this problem. Both sides do more harm towards each other than what is healthy for the game.
It's not simply done by nerfing certain items, addons, perks or characters. It's a problem deeply engrained in the games core gameplay.
People will ALWAYS find a way to play as optimal as possible, which will lead to people complaining. If one doesn't believe me, just look at how ridiculous some forum venting - posts are.

And then you'd end up with full sweat killers in 2v8 just shooting across the map to tunnel out survivors because it's pretty easy to predict the cages spawns. If no survivors had arrived yet they'd learn the distance to proxy camp in no time. It was already happening a lot this week in the few matches I played and was the same the last few days of the first 2v8. And as it was pretty much low ranked survivors as half the lobbies, gens weren't getting done whilst the killers concentrate on one person.
It happens in every game I've played previously that tries making a casual type mode. Sweats will just go to stomp no matter using whatever the meta tactics are and the mode would probably fail or end up no different to solo queue in 1v4.

Lithe + Dead Hard. 🤦♀️ The fact that players are getting away with running dumb combos like that in these very high level matches tells you something's wrong with the state of the game.

Somebody's got it figured out. The game is only balanced based on the assumption you're getting inefficient survivors in your matches. As soon as that doesn't happen, just look at the OP's image for the result.

I know a lot of ppl say the 2v8 is the casual mode they always wanted in dbd but I think one thing many ppl overlook about 2v8 is the fact it has things that can and will lead to sweaty games. The mode isn't as chaotic as ppl are led to believe or want to believe, it only seems chaotic now bc it's new. If the mode wasn't limited and stayed for a few months I bet you that it would become just as sweaty and competitive as 1v4 has become bc gamers will always find a way to optimize everything and find a meta. In fact, I saw a meta forming the two weeks when I played 2v8 a little as a survivor, ppl always using the best killer combos(like blight and billy) and survivors using the best classes to get gen done faster. No matter what at the end of the day dbd is pvp game and ppl will always play to win bc winning feels good. Ppl even optimize games like Mario Party which is supposed to be ultimate party game so they can win. In fact, in the newest mario party Nintendo even added a "comp" rule set to remove a lot of rng from the game.
Honestly, I feel no matter what mode the devs make and put in the game you always going to see the mode turn into a sweaty mess. I know what most ppl will say "Well 2v8 is made for the casuals and ppl who want to sweat can go play 1v4" This isn't completely true bc we have seen other games' "casual" modes have turned into sweat-fests bc ppl who want to win comes in and try to get easy wins against ppl who just there to have fun. One example I have is OW2 quickplay, it is kinda supposed to be a more led-back casual way to play the core game of ow and a place to learn heroes BUT comp players have come in over and over and made just as sweaty as comp.
I guess my point is that I see this whole thing as a winless battle. No matter what the mode is ppl will always try to optimize it and create a meta.
