Went against a Thrill of the hunt + Devourhope singularity with Small game no dice
So i went against a thrill of the hunt and devour hope match on the game with singularity. I found the totem in the very beginning of the game because i had small game. Even after many tries I could not cleanse it. Needless to say we lost. There is plenty of thrill of the hunt posts so I want suggest something differently. Make small game cone smaller by default 45 degrees to 25 degrees. Maybe tack on a 10% buff to cleansing

No one using it doesn't mean it's weak, this perk was already strong because it unhooked the survivor very quickly, and depending on the killer he couldn't do anything, besides the speed that the survivor receives. Now with the buff, you unhook almost instantly, and the survivor gains 10% speed, becoming 4.4. If they revert the Thrill buff, it's only fair to revert the NLB buff as well.

I don’t think a full revert should happen. I think it should go to 11% or 12% leaning more to. 12%

I mean, you cannot really use this as an argument if the Perk was just buffed from trash to a little bit less trash.

Yeah, especially on Killers which can protect Totems rather well, Thrill of the Hunt can be really oppressive. 45 seconds for cleansing a Totem is a long time if the Killer can somewhat reliable interrupt the cleansing process. And if they can do that, a huge chunk of time was lost from the Survivor, especially if the Killer gets at least a lost Health State out of it.

killer can only be in 1 place at the same time and it just so happens that there are 4 people on survivors, add 2 + 2 and understand that the killer is not capable of protecting generators and leading chases and protecting totems, the killer will have to choose something 1, and when he chooses, just do what he doesn’t have enough hands for

They are not equivalent, imo.
No One Left Behind was a terrible perk that almost no one used since the Old DBD. Thrill of the Hunt was outclassed by the original Undying, but it was never weak.

in my opinion thrill should not be buff unless u gonna do something about hex face the darkness. It's becoming a for the people buckle up problem when the Synergy is just way too strong. 12% could be reasonable though

This is just so obvious to me. They act like, "Killer has a hex? Time to turn our brains off and be annihilated by 1 perk." There's 4 of you, so unless you're messing up, the killer can only account for 1 of you at a time. Use that to your advantage!

What are people doing on killer? No, the survivors cannot safely ignore hexes and also get gens done. Unless you're completely AFK. Unless you're somehow getting 3 staged and Devour isn't going off. And again, unless you're completely AFK, you're going to win if survivors spend 2 minutes on a totem quest. Counterforce will not change this.

This would make more sense if totems weren’t next to generators due to the smaller maps. Also, most notable killers have some sort of AOE (Doctor/Pinhead), traps (Mint Rag Hag/Bloody Coil Trapper), or the obvious mobility killers (Blight/Billy/Wraith). All of these killers can easily patrol generators, hit/run, and protect totems either by interrupting/aggressive mobility.
You’re looking at this in a vacuum and not the vast majority of factors that this game is held together by.

You must not play killer at a high MMR, it's not fine when the standard corrupt/pain res/etc. outperforms hex builds 9/10 times because hexes go way too fast with experienced survivors.

I've played against it the last four survivor solo queue games this evening. The killer just tries to protect the TOTH totum at all costs. So sending out the dog, a Knight sending the guards and Unknown teleporting to the nearest clone. Against the Hound Master on Ormond we absolutely slammed gens and the 3rd Devour Stack only hit when someone got downed after all the gens were done.
The other games didn't go so well. Couldn't even get one totem done without getting interrupted, even with Counterforce. Got down to two gens a couple of times, but you need a couple of top class loopers to have any chance.
There's no way they'll leave the perk like this for Christmas.

What are people doing on killer?
The answer appears to be:
Enjoying yet another 45 second of slowdown on one perk that relies entirely on defending a PvE objective, while gaslighting the devs and the forum that this is somehow an ok change. Calling it "skill" to equip the newest overpowered thing and winning without much effort while boosting their MMR to be heights so they can complain for more buffs against the evils of SWF.

The only thing I'm seeing is that being polite and requesting change or asking "is this intended?" seems to get ignored.
There's not even been a response from the devs on this surprise change, yet if people burned the forums down like they did with other patches (like the bug that gave free gen completion when killing a survivor early)... Now *that* was already fixed by this point in the patch cycle.
Looking forward to another "8 months of Eruption meta", or even "2 months to bugfix merciless storm" wait time to resolve this.

The only hex you can't safely ignore is Devour. But by the time devour gets powered up… either the survivors just didn't do gens or are getting stomped in chase. Ruin is still a joke, H. lullaby is a joke, Pentimento you ignore by just not doing totems and every other is just super gimmicky. Of course I'm using good survivors as an example of why hexes are weak but being good at survivor is not hard.

The buff to Thrill is beyond broken. I was testing a full hex build with Devour yesterday, and I managed to eliminate most survivors with little effort. In many of my games, they only cleansed one totem and repaired one generator. It's absurd that some people are defending this. I suppose people will defend it because they enjoy winning with minimal effort and do not want their new favorite toy taken away.

Probably because the data showed that nobody took the perk at all to begin with so it clearly needed a buff. What they should do is not nerf thrill, but make totem cleansing regress like invocation instead of completely resetting. That way the killer has to dedicate time to keep you off a totem in order to defend it.

So, ignore the totems to counter Pentimento, but don't ignore Devour. Beginning to see a problem with that logic. And you can't safely ignore Blood Favor either against killers with gap closers. It's meta in comp for a reason. I feel like this debate is venturing into the usual "completely powerless M1 killer vs perfect survivors" scenario that doesn't actually exist. If it were easy to be good at survivor....we'd have more good survivors.

Its meta in comp because in comp half the good perks are banned.
Also, it is super rare to have pentimento, plaything AND devour. The point is to not cleanse the bad ones. Don't assume devour unless they prove otherwise. The other obvious thing is, just remember where you cleansed stuff. When a hex is cleansed everyone gets a notification of where it is, so just pay attention to that, and if you see pentimento pop up, you know exactly where it is. It ends up taking the killer about as much time to add pentimento as it does for a single survivor to remove it if they just pay attention.

Yeah, after going against the build multiple times, I will just stop playing until they do something about it. I am not wasting my time with this game, because the Devs decide to make a change they obviously did not understand.
Sucks for the Winter Event when it is not fixed until then, but it is what it is.

I mean if you have the game sense to figure out what hexes the killers running then yes it is a skill issue? If a killers running ruin, thrill, face of darkness and some other random hex perk that does nothing… its just not worth cleansing. Base regression speed is NOT a threat.

Probably because these perks were very underused, BBQ and Prove were not.
This change is too much by the looks of things, but it does need something to buff it from it's previous iteration.

I went up vs this build two times. The first game I don’t count because the game was lost when someone gave up but the second game was vs a wraith and boy was it awful

It's not super rare to see Pentimento, Plaything, and Devour right now. Slot in Thrill of the Hunt as the 4th and you have a build multiple influencers have made a video with in the last three days.
Also, "it takes the killer just as long to add Pentimento as to cleanse it" is nonsensical, given that it takes 47 seconds to cleanse it right now.0 -
So I've decided to use the build myself instead of just playing against it, and it has had some interesting results:
It didn't work perfectly, but those Totems did last longer than they usually do.
Freddy seems to have… a mixed, uncertain synergy with what is probably the last meta this version of him will see.

The idea was probably to bring hex perks back from the grave. They succeeded in that but in the worst way possible.
BBQ actually did receive a buff at some point. They increased the duration by 1 second, which doesn't make a difference but it still happened.
I think Thrill of the Hunt could use a small buff over its previous state but I would make it so that totems can't be closed for some time at the beginning of the match. That would ensure that a killer has a chance to use their perks before they are destroyed. Thrill wasn't all that good before this buff, so a bit of an extra edge wouldn't hurt. Just nothing as crazy as this.

Yep.
We know BHVR takes a little while to change the meta, so unless the next hotfix or the Bone Chill patch nerf Thrill of the Hunt, this will be the meta we will have by the time his rework drops.
It is the end of nerfed Freddy from 4.7.0, and I really hope the rework is something that will make him better.

Yep, not every perk needs to be OP and meta in its own right. This buff is insane as 45 seconds in DBD is an eternity and that is before even considering obnoxious perk combos

BBQ got it's duration increased the same patch perks started working instantly on hook, rather than at the end of it.
So, no. It didn't really get buffed, since the only time this buff affects the game is when you have a survivor revealed while you are hooking

Around the time of the release of Two Can Play, I went through some of the weaker hexes and suggested buffs for all of them, I'd need to see if I can dig that up or if it got yeeted with a PTB closure or something.

Yes, very good News. And I think it is justified, they just slapped it onto the Live Servers without any testing at all, because I am very sure not even the consultants have tested this before, considering that one of them immediatly made a video pointing out how miserable Thrill of the Hunt became to go against.
I am all for significant Buffs for unpopular Perks, but they should at least be on the PTB before.

I have played against it, but it was easy game. No slowdown, so he ended with 0 hooks…
You simply can't even try to cleanse, just do gens and hope you will be faster than 5 hooks (which is possible against 0 slowdown).1
