Hit Validation - When are we actually going to get this fixed?

As the title says, when are we going to start holding BHVR more accountable for this horrid hit validation system? It was bad back in 2019 and we were promised that a "New Hit Validation System" was coming, which was implemented in August of 2020. While the amount of times you drop a pallet and still get hit have severely reduced, it seems like everything else is still just as bad. Being hit when you're 20 feet away from a pallet, being hit by huntress semi-truck hatchets when you're no where near it, or getting hit through rocks by Nemesis lash.. or this series of unfortunate events where killers are lunging right past you, zoom off the map and you still get hit somehow?

Killer balance aside, how on earth are you supposed to combat these types of hits?

Probably not going to be fixed ever. As a community we've been vocal for years that this is a problem and we're no better off for it, so either they don't want to fix it or can't for some reason.

Yea what Onryo said. Community been vocal about this for years and while they did attempt to tackle the issue back then with varying success, they haven't really kept on top of keeping hitboxes tight. They put in right in the same shelf with console optimization it seems.

Yeah its really stupid, I gotten hits on survivors who already fast vault and at least 2 inches away from windows, worst if its a medium vault its making me still connect a hit from like 10 feet away.

The one time they fix fast vaults it was so nice then during a patch I forgot which one, the males then got a bug that made them vault really far and the females very short. So they revert everything back to this mess we have now.

I feel fast vaults are still using the medium vault speeds cause that was what was mentioned when they had tempoary fixed it that this whole time fast vault was using the medium vault speeds.. They need to remove medium vaults as its so dumb and pointless and may just finally fix fast vaults.

This is because many regions lack servers, therefore the only way to profit from these regions is with this hit validation sistem

Also, many Asians prefer playing on non Asian servers because there are too many afk people on them

Get mad at the lack of servers that make this bandaid exist

Don't forget that this is happening to killers as well. Sometimes you get a hit visually but it doesn't go through. This community needs to stop making things seem one-sided.

I think the most this problem show itself on Huntress. Her hatchet hitbox should be seriously nerfed.

You clear pallets after stunning? Lately it's more frequent I am getting hit over the pallet or clearing a vault.

They tried to add a hit validation for pallets, in 2021 if I recall correctly, and it was horrible.

You forgot Freddy too and I notice his attack animation is a wierd too just like how clown now flaps his feet like a duck when readying a bottle throw.

Nah, it's fine the way it is, I almost never have a problem with it, it's more a matter of ping and ability to know the timing. Besides, the survivor already has priority in the pallet, since the Patch 5.2 (if I'm not mistaken), when the hit and the pallet drop are registered at the same time, the pallet stun gains priority, so survivors already have an advantage in this matter, I think that's already good enough.

Her hatchet hitbox is fine, first of all knowing the hatchet pixel is very difficult and requires skill, secondly reducing the hatchet hitbox would probably make her look horrible, since she already is 4.4

I remember when people would complain about Freddy because they thought his lunge was bigger than the standard lunge.

Those are really, REALLY bad memories.

Slinger is also 4.4 but his hitbox are fair. And also huntress required 0 skill to play cause unlike Slinger and Trickster you dont need to perfect aim to survivors, you need throw it just somewhere around the survivors and game consider it as a hit.

If Huntress were as easy as you're making her out to be, she'd have the highest kill rate in the game, especially with her increased hatchet count. In reality though, even Huntress players can't fully account for the game's hitboxes and latency. For every hatchet that hits a survivor a meter behind them, there's another that passes straight through. Back when DBD was peer-to-peer, complaints about Huntress's hatchets were rare unless the Killer was lagswitching. It's clearly a latency issue, and any changes to the hitbox will not solve that

After the buff, her killrate increased significantly, she is one of the killer with most 4k in match.

I confess I am one of them and still believe so to this very day he has built on coup de grace lol. Do not feel a way cause oni to me feels like he has built in agitation when carrying people.

Yeah no. Her hatchets are literally beach balls. Maybe if they matched the model then sure. But the width of the hitbox is literally like 3.5 hatchel models lined up next to each other. Even on the huntress players screens a lot of the time the hatchet will be miles away from the survivor and it will still hit.

They cant fix it. But at the same time theyre unable to admit this.

The easiest way to fix it is to make hits server side and not killer side for validation. Bad ping then wont favor killers and will just hinder everyone.

I play with 30-40ms. I like the way it is. I don't want them to change things and then be penalized because someone else's ping is 150. Whenever I hit a survivor and they teleport forward on down I know they are lagging but I still got the deserved hit. It's not my problem their ping is abysmal. I hit them in my screen. My ping is good. See no reason to change.

Imagine if I had to guesstimate where every survivor ACTUALLY is (as opposed to where they show up in my screen) every time I swing depending on each individual survivor's ping. Christ almighty.
