Seems less people want to play survivor now

I really don't enjoy killer, it stresses me out and I get anxiety playing killer but honestly solo queue has been so miserable lately that even I have resorted to playing killer.

But the wait for matches is so much longer than survivor and the incentive always seems to be on survivor. I remember a time when killer matches were instant and the incentive was always on killer, especially during peak SWF hours but not any more.

I feel like this is an indication of just how miserable survivor is at present

Maybe it's the other way around and a bunch of new people, returner or "survivor camp traitors" (😜) have stuck with killer after the 2vs8 or something in that line.

Ive been converting my play time to survivor as of recently and I enjoy it. Yes, soloq can be miserable but it feels more wholesome for some reason.

Had a bunch of nice matches yesterday, which im very grateful for.

More incentive = more bp for Lara and Jill!

    Hey possibly

It is just weird as I never really had this situation before and not so frequently

One factor that should not be forgotten is that due to the long 2vs8 where there were no pips, many are still trying to complete their iri1 in the last few days. That's why many people are currently very frustrated.

Maybe hound master intrigue too. Maybes folk are curious and trying her out.

but yeah I have noticed an increase in survivor wait time too.

IIn Increase in survivor wait times would mean there's MORE people waiting to play survivor, not less.

Every game also requires 4 people queueing as survivor which should factor in to queue times as well. This could explain why the incentive is on survivor but the queue is fast for killer.

If the queues is faster for killer than survivor, it would mean there's not enough killers to meet demand for that region and MMR bracket. Sounds like the incentives are off.

Poor Survivors. It always ends in tears and blood.

I think it's a matchmaking issue for survivor, and a balance issue for killer. Killer stresses you out because it's the perpetual feeling of losing control, especially in matches where you get an unbeatable survivor team (who are becoming less and less rare). Survivor is stressful because it's so darn easy, but your teammates just cannot stop throwing the game. They can't simply loop well, do the gens, and get out. No, they have to make a free match as difficult and monotonous as possible. Oftentimes, this wouldn't be a problem if the game gave you a killer who was equally bad, but he's almost always actually trying (unlike your teammates). The moment you get good teammates, the match is a cakewalk where the killer gets like 4 hooks.

For me, solo teammates during the day aren't that bad. But when evening rolls around and there's an influx of casuals and "I DC at the first sign of trouble" type players. I think it's generally the opposite for killer, where those survivors you get during the day are way stronger than at night. But at this point, I'm not even sure of that. Survivor is just so unbelievably simple, even those teams who really shouldn't win... do win. It's why I'm taking a break. Why would I play, as either role, when the game predetermines the result?

Even though I do think killer is the more enjoyable role, I've been playing a lot more survivor than killer these days.

Mostly because I want to get my Mikaela to P100.

Devs confirmed not long ago the incentives are accurate. Idk. Maybe they lied or something but Mandy confirmed they’re working as intended quite recently

Yeah look I am sure there are various factors as @SidneysBane1996 and @Aven_Fallen no doubt accurately pointed out too and I am sure there is truth in that.

But I definitely remember when the matchmaking incentive came into the game it was almost always on killer as it went into the peak evening hours but I almost always get survivor now.

I did have a few times last night where it actually did switch to killer but not for long and it went back survivor.

It depends what time of day you play. I am in US eastern time zone. Killer queues are always longer during the day, but during peak evening hours killer queues are instant as this is when a lot of survivors come to play with friends. It has been this way as long as I can remember. I don't see any indication of change in number of survivor vs. killer players.

It's because survivor isn't fun. Especially not in solo queue. To quote something Otz said the other day. "Winning as a killer with one perk is easier than winning in solo queue". The effort required to play solo only to lose in the end just isn't worth your time. I am currently playing DBD less than I have in the past and when I do it's usually on killer. The plus side is the state of solo survivor helped break my DBD addiction.

Wouldn't be first time they lied, or can be simply wrong.

But noone can convince me at this point incentives are working. Doesn't make sense when incentive is on role with longer queue time and not by little…
I have not seen 100% bonus in normal game mode for months (I usually play around 21-1). I just miss my BBQ/WGLF, no need to rely on devs to make their features work, when you want to farm BP.

When your queue times are instant on killers, do you have 100% BP bonus?
Because EU servers don't have that.

I played a bit last night. The survivor queue was always the one with the incentive, but it was a 5+ minute wait while killer was instant.

This isn't a new phenomenon for me, it's happened since incentives were introduced, but usually the wait time isn't that long. Last night was ridiculous.

BP incentives have been broken for a long time now. The best I ever get now is 50%, even when survivor queues are super long. Often times there will be a 25% SURVIVOR incentive even when survivor queues are long and killer queues are instant.

With 50% initiative (event) on both roles I have instant queue on killers and 3-4 minutes on survivors, so idk about that one.

I am not enjoying survivor at all now. I just get annoyed and frustrated seeing what dbd became over the years. I prefer killer and that probably won't change anytime soon whenever I am back for some games.

You have it confused. Both roles are super miserable if you ask me.

I feel like this is frequently the case, this is of course subjective and mileage may vary for others. But solo queue is a slog of obnoxious killers, obnoxious sweaty killer builds and full slowdown, tunnelling, camping and team mates giving up/DCing constantly. Escape rates in general feel very low unless you play in a SWF with very experienced players, though again that can vary as I do have some runs where I escape several times but I can go hours of not escaping - something that never happened in the past.

I feel that I know things are bad when even I resort to playing killer lol

Not that I have not played a lot of killer over the years, I just decided I was no longer doing it as it stressed me out but lately solo queue has been so miserable even I am resorting to killer

You also need to remember: Incentives are there to INCENTIVIZE you to play the side that needs more to help with queue times. If you have no incentive or a low incentive the queues are more balanced and games should be equally fast or slow to get into. If you have a high incentive, that's when you know nobody wants to play that side - because BHVR has to bribe people to do it.

So, if you think somehow a lack of an incentive means "nobody wants to play that side because it's miserable", you're dead wrong. It's the complete opposite - a high incentive means nobody wants to play that side and the Devs are bribing us to play it. Having a high incentive on say, Survivor all the time is bad, having none is actually good because it means people are playing Survivor.

If you ask me there shouldn't be high incentives or any incentives hardly ever, the BP gain should just overall be better.

I do not survivor no more unless am a 4 man, I too been more on killer and even when I lose, I do not feel as annoyed about it as I will as survivor.

I tried the toth devour build with wesker trickster and even ghosty whom am garbage at with ghosty and I had scored 4ks in all 3 games but I didn't even felt satisfied, more like disappointed.

I admit for killer I like to mostly play around with silly builds and dont care to win or lose unlike survivor am competitive can have 1 or 0k and still some how end up with more bp than the survivors like 90% of time. I been trying to do every tome since I completed all survivor ones. Helps alot to get my trevor to 100.
