Given the amount of negativity on the forums, lets 'try' to write up some things we like about the game or even.. 'the other side'.

I want to see if this thread can live without it getting negative lol.

I like killers with personality and quirky actions that make the trial humorous while still keeping it a 'run for your life' sim. SO much fun lol.

Solo Q, being what it is, does bring some hilarious moments sometimes. Like a brand new player, and others hovering around them and just telling the killer 'No! not this one'. Sometimes the killer gets it, and it's an awesome experience lol.

Ok, your turn(s)!

It's always cute when I go against a killer when my user name is funny and cute and the killer is playful with it.

My user was "Myers' BoyToy" and the Myers in the match walked to me and nodded LOL, it was cute.

I genuinely like or at least don't mind being Mori'd, I think it's cinematic and cool. I don't see it as insulting or a "rubbing my face in it" at all and people who do see it like that baffle me. Yes, even with basekit Mori and the 2k slug for a Mori thing. I genuinely don't care or see it as bad sportsmanship whatsoever, I would much rather see a cool animation (usually, I have a couple exceptions like Plague's Mori) than just die on the hook at the end.

Winning as Survivor doesn't mean jack diddly to me unless I am going for an Adept or something, I genuinely don't care about wins as Survivor and people who do weird me out. A lot. Winning as Killer means more because I actually have to try with the Survs I get.

I love that so much, and it works on me. If your name amuses me you deadass get to live. My favorite one was Boon: Friendly Killer… well, it worked on me. :) My other favorite: around the first Lights Out I was playing Myers a lot, and I got a duo named OiledUpWesker and OiledUpMyers. I let them go and we both stood there nodding and vibing. Very funny.

If you're cute enough mid-round, you also get to live. And honestly if you're all just being super adorable and silly from the word go, I'll probably vibe with you, I don't care.

I like model walking with Skull Merchant. I feel like 2 divas killing it out there in the fog with our fashion. :D

I LOVE watching TV with a Sadako as a sadako main. It warms my heart. <3

One time on autohaven a Freddy and I sat by a fire. Roasted a few marshmallows. <3

many things about the game - it’s still one of the most unique games and I’m pretty sure have some of my most memorable and best gaming moments through DBD!

Also, I’ve said it before, despite the sometimes bad rep the DBD community seems to have, I think the community is amazing - I’ve genuinely been educated, seen different perspectives, learnt to empathise beyond my own sphere, outright laughed and been heart warmed by many, many of you on the forums.

I have also made many friends through DBD - went from a handful of regular friends who soloQ’d silently (I used to play on Nintendo switch so no way to communicate) to accidentally finding each other on someone else’s twitch stream, to creating a discord DM group, eventually turning to a community group of 150+ members. (Don’t worry, we don’t do voice comms and strategies! We’re just talking about random stuff and so on through chat while playing).

This forum itself has many people I would consider a friend and always look forward to hearing their thoughts and input on different topics

I was genuinely touched by the amount of people that replied to my ‘post pigeon retires’ topic, saying they appreciate what I did. Y’all were the reason I became more active on here, and eventually what got me to start birdposting.

I’m really not all that into arguing game balance, but it’ll never get old to see a bait post get ratio’d by a bird. That alone proves to me that we’re really not all that serious as we seem.

My favorite thing about this game is when I have a good game and decide to give someone hatch or let them leave something like that. The first couple of seconds they're scared but when they realize I'm letting them out the slow recognition and mutual respect is awesome. I also really like that gif of demogorgon nodding, the gif of unknown getting a lobotomy, and the one of nemesis running at mach 10

As rare as has been for years now, I adore those adorable survs who have the cajones to try and boop the snoot. So darn cute! Greatly enhances their chances of living. 💗🐽🐷

Any awkward staring across a vault, window, or downed pallet adds to the fun too!

I'm actually having more fun than ever on survivor, especially with Taurie! I can't help it, she's really fun and like the evil wife I've always wanted,, I also have met some silly players recently who remind me that the game can be nice sometimes. I had a Michael with tombstone and we had a standoff in front of the lockers where he vigorously shook his head and begged me not to go in ;w; He saved me for last and I wanted to give him his special kill but he gave me hatch instead <3 idk, stuff like that is more fun than bein serious all the time. Oh, and also the rift this season is super nice :D

I once had a very strong team on Eyrie. The Bill brought the offering and they were very coordinated but altruism was their downfall. I mean, gens literally down to two, going off every other five seconds I swear. I was struggling hard enough I couldn't do much stalking, just ended up abandoning stealth, and defaulted to basic M1 tactics and nastier tools because I couldn't DO much else. Renato was a half decent looper, They had sabotaging tools and Breakout, and I ended up having to pressure by (sadly) slugging an Ada for about a minute so I could bait the Bill out and prevent sabos, I just really wanted my hooks. I felt bad and let the Ada go in the end, I just needed her in time out for a bit so I could get these two Survs to stop sabotaging my hooks. I did catch the Bill and the Renato, then crouched next to SlugAda and waited for them to die - which isn't my default mode at all, just what I had to do to stop this coordinated sabo/wiggle team that was pushing gens so fast I couldn't properly do much else.

The Bill gave up on hook (this was his first one), Renato just didn't even bother, and I immediately turn to Ada and start dribbling the pickup to release her like, "welp, sorry about that nonsense, you can go now." But she didn't get the memo that I was letting her go, after showing I was willing to be very mean if I had to and just wanted to punish her friends' nonsense but not her, and kept running off. I ended up having to spam crouch and do nodders until she got the memo. I was approaching and she immediately is so afraid I'll slug her again she half-panics, then starts playing Lute, and I just… I couldn't. I wanted to let her free anyway because I basically used her as bait and wanted to apologize, but she pulled out the Lute and my heart just melted. It was like "Ghostface no wait, wait a sec! … pulls out lute"

Of course I danced for her and let her open the gate. Then we slow-walked together out of the gate and had a very kind conversation at the end regardless of my somewhat rude behavior in round. Lute Perk = free escape. :)

I have a few recent ones:

This Taurie was one of my friends in Customs. The Bill is one of my other besties in DBD, we SWF together a lot.

This Simon/Trevor was super chill going for a gen challenge. We happened to get Lerys and I was running Rancor. He saw I was playing a bit aggro and kept shaking his head in disappointment at me, and I felt kinda ashamed, so I let them do some gens. In the end I killed everyone else, then realized he was my Obsession and that I still needed Trevor for my album, so I befriended him and we did gens together. Then Rancor pops last minute, he realizes, looks at me like, "really?" and I kinda look down ashamed like, "… yeah, really…" I didn't wanna betray him and I was going to let him go, but he opens the gate and waits for me. I realize he wants me to do the Mori, I kinda didn't want to but well, he did sort of give me it…

This very old shot was in Customs with me and a bunch of friends goofing off. They were good sports about it and we all just had some fun playing around, and I got this fun Mori Photobomb with them. I really love these a lot!

This Adam was a good sport during Masquerade, crawled to the gate and waited at the very end when he saw I had Rancor. The Entity really wanted to be in the photo too as you can see.

I booped it yesterday and the Pig accepted :-) - not every Pig does.

But one gave up immediately on Hook and one Dc´d. I guess that helped…

I am always happy when i face a nice killer who slows down when he totally dominates.

I love when both sides stop playing when something strange happens in a game or showing something new!

For example as killer once I was a ghostie and when I was chasing a Bill in the red woods, he did that trick where he goes to the corner of the platform of the house, where there is a rock there. And he crouched. Totally don’t see him, jumped off the platform, bewildered at lack of scratch marks only to turn around and see him dancing on the rock. He showed me how to do it and the two of us just hid behind the platform on the rock and waited for people to work on that gen so I could stalk them and watch them panic.

When I was playing survivor, I was going against a wesker and he zoomed me — into a rock. Straight up. I was just inside the rock. Could only see my head and I couldn’t get out! I was stuck! He just stood there staring. Ended up spending his entire game trying to get me out. Other survivors caught on and also watched for fun. Eventually he finally got me out zooming and grabbing me again just right. But then me and a Bill (both my stories involve bills..could this loud coughing old man be the key to goofy hours?) spent the rest of the match trying to recreate it by having wesker repeatedly zoom us into the same rock.
I felt bad he threw the match for me, so I stayed behind alongside the bill to give him the 2 kills.

I just love when you can clearly see that it’s a person playing against you. Not just a bot.

Despite the many, many miserable matches I've had, I keep playing for those "diamonds in the rough," whether that be epic matches, or those when the Killer starts being friendly after two Survivors are dead.  And those farming matches can be fun, too.

Some of my matches have inspired fanfic plots as well, such as the love developing between Dwight and the Huntress, the budding friendship between Rebecca and the Nemesis.  And I recently finished a story arc where Vecna reanimated Survivors after they're killed by the Killers' own hands in trials, making them his puppets, having them attack both living Survivors and Killers alike.

My fav is when both sides are evenly matched and the moment of realization is looking at one another after a dope play or mind game and nodding and then continuing to play out the match to let the best man win. Those are some of the most fun matches I've ever had and my biggest love moment in dbd!

Honestly when I just started this game which is when nemesis was the newest killer curtesy of a friend of mine telling about leon/jill coming in game, I did had disliked to the lore thing because every nemesis literally goes for me all the time, then again 90% of the time they was running lethal pursuer and if not they still for some reason tends to target me as Leon over Jill, and Leon is rpd not stars, but they would tunnel me over her for idk what reason. Though strangely when sadako came out and I decide my second main will be cutie pie yoichi after leon, I suddenly liked the lore stuff , since she was pretty weak when she was released lol and ofc I was far better at looping and what not.

I once had a TunnelIfGay username when I was new, it was more of just a joke between friends.

my first match was against a blight. With a mlm charm.

    I didn’t escape.

I like when killers have some personality to them. During 2vs8 I got downed in the endgame and I ended up between a spirit and a deathslinger. I crawled over to the Spirit because I wanted her to mori me, which led to the two killers literally dueling it out to decide who would get the mori. Spirit won, of course. Another time I was the last survivor and after a ghost face downed me, he let me "chase him" around the map until my mori.

Then there was the time I was doing a sabotage hook challenge on the game, and right after I had sabotaged a hook I turned around, and a legion was just there watching me. He hooked me somewhere else and did a little spin. It made me laugh.

I also fondly recall the Myers and tricksters who just let me escape after a tough game. Legends.

Despite how clunky and glitchy a lot of powers can be, teleports in this game function very well. There’s almost no lag to them and the majority feel good to control and smooth.

Especially Unknown’s. It’s one of the most fluid and seamless teleports I’ve ever seen.

As a console player, I'm always embarrassed when PC players fast nod at me and I have to nod back. But I had a game the other day where a Ghostface and I admired the sky on Toba together, and we both slowly looked at each other and slowly nodded. I dunno if he was a console player as well but it was definitely a gratifying experience lmao I finally felt like I fit in
