Shoulder the Burden doesn't activate exposed or scream
SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE: Using the perk Shoulder the Burden, it occasionally doesn't make you exposed or scream as intended.
PLATFORM: PC
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THE ISSUE OCCURED:
-Use the perk Shoulder the Burden (I used it on a survivor on death hook, to make myself go death hook)
-See if you are exposed or if your survivor screams.

After I experienced this mid-match last night, my friend and I tested in a custom with different hook-states, health-states, perks etc.
We can confirm it completely skips the scream and exposure effect if you use it while having a hook-state already.
We believe the perk performs a check to see if the user running the perk is on death hook, as the perk cannot be used if it would result in their death. However, it seems this check occurs after the hook-state transfer has already taken place. If using the perk causes the user to reach death hook, the check likely detects the user as ineligible to use the perk retroactively. As a result, the penalties of screaming and becoming exposed are skipped, even though the hook-state transfer still happens.

Interesting. I was just coming here to report the same thing. Didn't notice the pattern with the number of hook states, but that makes sense. I have been so confused about why I do or don't become exposed.

I've experienced this testing out Taurie, it's not functioning as it should. Either you don't scream, you don't become Exposed, or both fail to happen.
Until this perk is fixed it should be killswitched; the intended downside is not working and that makes it too strong for what it can do. It could easily be abused.
