General Thoughts on Hound Master, Is She in need of a nerf or not?
I'm probably biased since I'm a complete killer main and I can't say I've played survivor more than 30 times since rank one was removed, and even then I only played it in a swf
I also play on console mostly so i cant really do a lot of flicks ( i main nurse on pc and has no dlcs for it)
With that out of the way…
Is hound master actually needing a nerf?
While I think hound master is strong, IDK if I'd say she needs nerfs atm
for as good as snug is, I find he's almost entirely dependent on the survivors making mistakes such as running in a straight line or dropping a pallet in my face after I whistle, Especially on the first charge
Seriously, against good survivors hitting with snugs first charge seems more of a misplay from them rather than anything you did in most situations as I've played against a few survivors who were actually dodging young coconut and leather harness snug consistently
His second dash is more on you, I think, but if you miss you lose quite a bit of distance and like 3–4 misses can cost you a game really quickly I find it better to actually not use it in most circumstances as it can actually be deceptively hard to hit
He's also more about mind gaming survivors at loops rather than actually catching them at it, I find because I think he's pretty easy to loop on most tiles and I find most times I'm able to grab people with snug at loops is sending him through a window/pallet when I think the survivor is about to cross it or the obvious the drop the pallet in your face when you whistled lol
But as time goes on and the better and more experience people get VS'ING hound master, I'm sure it'll become way less reliable as more and more people get better
His vault speed is pretty fast, but it mostly punishes survivor mistakes and everyone seems to have forgotten that we have other killers in this game who also injure and down you on an animation lock
As for the problems with the killer, I have…
- Snugs hit box still seems a little bit tiny IMO just an ever so slight increase would help a lot
- Most maps as not snug friendly and certain loops and some killer shacks cause snug to get caught on nothing while in search mode this will hopefully stop happening as more and more bug fixes happen but this is a problem currently
- Snug can't decide whether to slide across that bush and tree/random object or face plant into it, it's very inconsistent and makes the killer feel bad at times
- Search mode is honestly still useless, so many times I've sent snug to a generator and regretted it almost instantly because it just denies you chase command which is far, far superior and something I'd rather have at pretty much all times
- Hound sense is garbage literally awful "Oh cool i can sometimes… Put the survivor into deep wound?" Don't get me started on how it makes them glowing either as if everyone isn't wearing the brightest clothes possible while having the game loaded with NVIDIA filters Oh yea you can't reset it you just have to wait until the timer expires to put it on them again lol Lmao even
- Another thing that will hopefully get fixed in the future is just the massive of amount of bugs still on this killer The one that pisses me off the most is when snug comes back from a search command and will just slowly waddle behind you forcing you to stop for a second for him to start charging his power I have literally lost games because of this one Apparently hound master also bugs survivor movement causing them to slightly move forward when they stop moving preventing certain things like vaults and pallet drops But IDK i just heard a streamer i vs complain about it when I checked the vod
- While I'm a part of the "JUST LEAVE" crowd I do think it's kinda nasty how if snug catches you by the exit gate you are pretty much going to die as you can't leave before she does SNUG, Hit, Snug, Hit and pickup as your only hope is to dodge snug twice
Not going to go into many numbers, but I'd like for vault speed to be changed to something like 0.55 or 0.60, so people will stop calling it "sCaMpEr 2.0" (COUGH COUGH PIXELBUSH) and so it doesn't look like snug teleports on his second dash lol
Oh, and BTW she is not a top 5 killer lol IDK what hens was smoking and Otz placed her a little bit too high on his tier list IMO, but I agree she is an A tier at the very least
To end this i'm not saying she shouldn't ever be nerfed but until they fix her bugs and make search command and hound sense worth the time it took to code i cant agree with any nerfs at this moment

She doesn’t need a nerf. Her search ability needs to be more user friendly and a larger detection zone.

Her gameplay at pallets seems to horrific.
She doesn't seem to be slowed when pulling out her whistle, meaning she creates lose-lose scenario's at pallets, unless you hyper pre-drop, which isn't very fun for either side, imo

Personally think all that really needs to be looked at is Snug's usage at pallets

she still get slowed. i believe they changed her m/s from 50% to 75%. 2.0 →3.0 m/s. this m/s decrease also applies to canceling the power.
she is alright after the changes.

Yes. Any non-biased player will know that current Houndmaster is wildly overtuned.
