I'm afraid I don't understand your response here, friend.

What I have said is that both manners of toxicity, tbagging and humping, should not be done. I don't think anyone disagrees with that.

I didn't see this before my last response (otherwise I would have included it there) but you are wrong. I have seen people leave video games over being teabagged and during the ten years I worked with abused individuals this was a triggering behaviour in some cases. However, anytime anyone would bring up their discomfort online they'd be told 'it's not so bad, it isn't a big deal, it's just an in-game thing, maybe video games aren't for you, etc' and any of the other arguments that were also used a couple decades ago when people would say they were going to or had sexually assaulted their opponents but using the r- word and people expressed discomfort with that. And then of course they had to deal with hostility and being dismissed for saying hey, perhaps we shouldn't imply or mimic sexual assaults even if it is in a video game because of common human courtesy.

The video game community has always had a problem with toxicity and justifying behaviours that would never be considered acceptable if they could see the person on the other side and teabagging is just the most current manifestation.

Then I'm wrong. If it's up to me, all these things are awful.

However, as I said. I'm done trying to deal with this playerbase problems.

For years I've tried to bring positivity to these forums when possible.

This is my breaking point. I have enough real life issues that show me how cruel this world can be. It's pointless to try to improve something here. From my experience, nothing changes.

What I mean is that I'm done trying to tackle problems of toxicity here on the forums. People don't change.

I've been dealing with this idea for a long time and this post is my breaking point. I'm sorry that I was wrong.

I just don't want to deal with it anymore.

That's correct. All those things are awful. Unfortunately, you're correct that things probably won't change either for a long time. It took decades before the video game community moved away from using the r- word as common nomenclature so people not teabagging or humping probably won't happen for a long time either. It sucks, but for peace of mind, it's better to not think about it too much.

On a more important note, I don't know what's happening in your real life but I hope you get support for what you need. Things can really suck at times.

You really cannot see how 'humping' and 'teabagging' are, by your own logic, the exact same?

Both are simulating an intimate act in order to irritate the other side. Both are (and again, this is your logic - not mine here) consent violations. You don't get to imply that one is merely BM and the other is virtual (word that rhymes with 'grape'). This is what I'm pointing out as a double standard.

I don't buy into the 'thicker skin' argument. If I had my way, I'd have something like ye olde League of Legends tribunal which took that community from a 12 on the toxicity scale to a 4. But if you want to make it, it applies equally to both and you'd get accustomed to both too, if you played survivor more.

Now, personally - I consider both to be poisonous to the game as a whole. I've recently been playing a lot of Marvel Rivals, where you can get actual bans for saying things like GG EZ. It's fantastic and there is generally minimal BM and a lot of wholesome banter…outside of public voicechat which is a cesspit as expected.

Sorry, that I was wrong. I'll shut up. Never gonna touch this topic again.

    Stahp.

You were wrong. It is fine to be wrong as long as you adapt and adjust.

There is no need to sympathy bait.

    I'm not sympathy baiting.

I'm seriously just done with this topic. Both sides will never give in and I'm done trying to bring some form of peace. Enjoy dealing with these people.

"Really strong players" a.k.a "people who wasted years of their lives on a game like it's their job instead of being useful to society"? No, thanks. I don't play this game competitively, I play this game when I have free time and because I like some Killers' gameplay.

I know how to deal with tryhards trying to be the next Otzdarva or something, but my experience doesn't get any better from that. I don't enjoy the frustrating matches with a bunch of apes trying to get an ego boost on my expense, I don't get a thrill when I win against them. The satisfaction of turning the tables? Yes. But it's not worth the stress and the miserable time I had because four pathetic people couldn't find a fifth "friend" to be their punching bag in custom games.

You've never faced an actual bully squad then.

One who'll send you to Ormond or Asylum to abuse the unhookable spot, will abuse BGP+the flashbang model glitch or double locker save (yes these have been partially fixed) to ALWAYS 100% save, or who will run stealth perks and go out of their way to waste as much of your time as possible by hiding all over the map and not doing gens to try and make you DC.

    This, exactly.

    🙄

Yeah. Because I'm the one saying that 'oh survivors can be BM and it's just rude, but when killers do something analogous it's basically SA'.

Also - you've moved from sympathy baiting to…I guess some sort of guilt tripping?

    Sympathy tripping?

This is me on toddler amounts of sleep.

Bringing strong stuff or going for blinds does not have to meant that they want to ruin your experience.

Agreed. I don't think either of those are ever really toxic. Playing to win or have as big an advantage as you can isn't an issue. I just think that even if some of us consider teabagging/nodding silly it can still be toxic if it's people doing it only to make their opponent miserable.

I don't think dbd has ever been more toxic than since release up to pig maybe or whenever they switched to actual servers and not p2p.

What I've seen in the past two days in solo queue in the Christmas mode is beyond belief.

Just now finished a game against a Wesker who hard tunnelled out a Nea, slugged the Ash, I got one hooked in the basement and then he downed the Taurie and humped her on the ground until she bled out. There are certainly some specimens in this community. This is in the Christmas mode for crying out loud.

Never seen camping and tunnelling as much as the past few days. Is the Christmas mode some sort of comp mode but I haven't been told? It's unreal.

It's literally every game! Just had all 4 of us slugged by a Billy but luckily I'm taking Unbreakable based on how bad things are at present and 2 got out and 1 killed an inch from victory.

I'm not sure how you even can fix things now. How heavily killer sided it is at mid and lower level and how survivor sided it is at the top level, you just make things even worse at one or the other with any changes and it just breeds even more toxicity.
