Get rid of rank all together at this point.
Now I know this might be a very unpopular opinion but this is my opinion so hear me out, rank at this point should just be removed from the game. All it causes is problems for killers and survivors and makes both sides triggered whenever they depip. I think the rank system contributes to the toxicity of both sides of the community. If there wasn't rank losing a match would just be like oh that didn't play out the way I wanted to I just lost a few blood points! But then you add a rank system into the mix and it makes everyone overly toxic and competitive. Another point I also have is the fact that rank doesn't matter that much currently anyways rank 20 killers getting placed with rank 1 survivors ect. Removing rank will also solve wait times. Plus I feel like removing rank would also make more people use more fun builds and not feeling like sorry if I don't tryhard I will depip so removing rank would also encourage people to just overall have more fun. This is just a little opinion I have had for awhile now although I know that the likelihood of this happening is zero to none so doesn't matter that much but I just wanted to share my opinion on things.

At this point rn, I get matched up against literally any ranks. I got 2 rank 20s in a match as a rank 2 killer.

I personaly don't care about ranks or pips. I get my dopamine shot as a killer if I get to kill at least 3 of them or by escaping as a survivor.

All I care about is bloodpoints. Ranking and pipping don't mean a thing to me, I just play for the bloodpoints.

Rank was always just something for players to a goal to achieve per month for a lot of people so I think it should be kept.
What they could look at is leaving rank as a montly goal and seperating the matchmaking from it so deranking does nothing to who you get paired with.

Interesting that some are being matched up with 15+ ranks separating you. As a rank 14 killer i have not experienced this on ps4. Kind of the opposite really. I played 7-8 matches over the weekend and every round matched me with survivors r15-11. The one exception was a rank 20 who had the unfortunate luck of experiencing my Hag's mori.

The pip system is completely screwed up now in all honesty. I use to be least rank 6 or below every month and since the new killer came out it’s completely ruined. I just de pip most games as survivor even when I do generators, chased by killer, unhook survivors, heal people, and go some games without being hooked or downed. It’s just ridiculous now to pip as survivor as killer it’s not as hard. Like why mess with it so bad that it makes me not wanna play the game much anymore. Especially if I’m going up against killers or other survivors no where near my rank??? Plus they claimed they fixed the lobby wait times and still I sit in lobbies at night over 20-40 mins or more!!! Just annoying dealing with this since they changed the system again!!!

rank honestly doesn’t matter for the most part. Like ranks 1-15 are all the same. But I feel like ranks should still be thing because of newer players, I don’t want them to get discouraged from playing the game when they are constantly being destroyed by people who higher ranks ( I know with current matchmaking that is the case, I had it happen to me multiple times) . Idk that’s all I have. If there was a separate thing where only ranks 20-17 can play without worrying about being exposed to better players while they get better at the game. That’s why I also hate people who intentionally depip. even tho it isn’t wasn’t a problem back when I first started playing I would’ve hated going against rank 10 and higher killers. Idk just a thought

Imo, newer players should have their own sorta "rank" in order for them to learn how the games works and all that jazz.
But then after that Ranks really shouldn't matter. If I'm at rank 10 and getting rank 2 and rank 15 killers then what is the point of rank anyway. This update made ranked matchmaking even worse somehow.
It feels like we we have play a certain way or as a certain killer now in order to pip too, which sucks for more casual players who just want to have fun and mess around.

You really wanna have rank 15-20's put up against rank 1's? Do you want rank 20's as your teammates on survivor? This is what you'd accomplish with this change. A terrible idea.

I agree at least if they are going to keep rank in the game (obviously they are) it needs a entire rework because before it was to easy to rank up and now its way to hard also it doesent matter cause i face rank 20 killers when im like below rank 10 anyways so .-.

Yesterday, no0b3 got a 3k with burger king myers against rank 13-15s in haddonfield, and no, survivors were not memeing.
Ranks do matter, maybe not too much but they do.

Instead you can make your own rank for newer players ect or you could use a level system also... plus this happens already anyways.

yep, just ditch ranks and have a hidden MMR matching you vs oponnents (dc wouldn't effect your MMR do no dcing to bully new killer players)

Yeah, I miss the quickie game queues as a Survivor. Rank is meaningless anyway on Killer side since most of them tunnel/camp every match and you get farmed out of the game within minutes of your first hook. The risk of a low level killer getting a high level survivor is always present, especially after a reset. You generally find that the player's rank on any side doesn't reflect their experience or skill in the game.
