Getting really tired of map offerings
The last few days its just been Auto haven and Eyrie of crow offerings… I am OVER it. I have put in sac wards and guess what I still get?…..Autohaven…..so annoying….There are other maps I would LOVE to go to.

I would disagree and according to the surveys/polls the community did over earlier summer, most maps actually favor survivors boring or not. However, I do agree BHVR needs to find a way to keep the maps interesting, and the tiles fair.

Our community. Here on the Forums. Thats where the stats came from. From the Devs and us on the forums together. Midwitch is harder to deal with for killers especially with all the clutter in the middle of the hallways. Huntress and Trickster will have a much harder time not to mention houndmasters already buggy dog.
Vecnas Borgo is by far not a dead zone. Perhaps a bit in the center topside but that is about it. Theres a lot to use on that map.
Certain variations of Autohavens, Macmillans, (Eyeries), Badham, Prenn Asylum, Yamamoka Estate, (The Game, Hawkins, (Lery's), Backwater Swamp favor survivor.
I get where ya are coming from with older maps, but adjustments need to be made.
Haddon field is very killer sided. I agree.

Midwich had been literally the most killer sided map in the game for years now. That's not just subjectively me saying that, that's the devs putting it map statistics every year and Midwich had consistently been "the most lethal map on the game with the highest kill rate" every year for at least the past 3 years. I don't believe they put out those stats after the Midwich map update, but I doubt anything has really changed. It's consistently the smallest map in the game.
They've done a *ton* Of map changes they don't highlight very well in patch notes. They changed tile weightings (to make things like jungle gyms spawn less often), changed tile spawn logic (to prevent tile chaining), they added instead "filler pallets" to dilute the map pool (see any "what the heck is this tile" or "how do you run this" post with a pallet held up by toothpicks as the only playable "loop" in that quarter of the map).
Pretty much all newer maps heavily favor the killer, including pretty much every rework. Macmillan, which you refer to as "survivor sided", used to be considered generally one of the most balanced realms in the entire game. We've shifted what "balanced" means and haven't touched those maps, that's all your statement means there. Which basically means they haven't been fully reworked into killer maps yet.
That is all part of the devs stated goal of 60% kill rates. They're intentionally making maps killer sided to make kills (and the game as a whole) easier for killers. And they've said directly it's not to make the game more "balanced" in the sense of being even, they're intentionally making it killer sided on purpose.

Counterpoint though. Especially coming from a 50/50 player who dies on survivor to these map deadzones on haddonfield and coldwind now. Having maps that swing so far in the other direction so that the gameplan is "bring the map offering" then the killers plan is "block it so i have a higher chance" doesnt solve the problem especially with wards being common rarity now. The offering system has basically become the first win a side can get. Which is not any better. What should happen is a map like eyrie or auto haven should be brought down to not have loops hard chaining into eachother where the killer has no gameplay. And the maps like haddonfield shouldn't say "well you die here because the one pallet in 32 meters was broken". But a nameful of these maps have had a bad history. You look into old coldwind where there was close to no gameplay. Haddonfield being a meme in the fact you couldn't do anything as killer. So what I'd prefer to see is eyrie and haddonfield change again because they really emphasize how bad on one side it can be. For opposite reasons. There's no gameplay to god tile chaining on eyrie and no pallets to use on haddonfield. And map offerings should not be the thing to force this gameplay. Because then all it leads is to getting sent to the same map multiple from both sides to get a easier win. Ironically why I run ward on both sides. There's so many maps in this game. I'm not going to eyrie/haddonfield for the 10th time today on either side.

I completely disagree, in fact, most maps favor survivors, very few favor killers.

Eyrie is not like "old dbd style loops", it's IMPOSSIBLE to get mindgamed or even downed by 80% of the Killers on those gigantic rocks, but yeah, macmillian is almost the perfect map

Borgo is pretty strong for survivors (not the Vecna map, that one is just a bad map overall).
Nostromo is decent for some killers…but sucks as a 110.
Autohaven and McMillan are fairly balanced for the most part, unhookable spot on IWOM notwithstanding.
That said - Garden of Joy exists, Swamp can still have near infinites if you get the log near the boat and there are plenty of maps that are somewhat survivor sided.

These forums have always been survivor heavy. And I've been lurking for literal years now. Want a good example? Go read the threads after the SM gutting. It's wall to wall survivor gloating with a few irritated killers posting. But that's neither here nor there.
Where are the patch notes where they changed tile weightings to make it easier for killers? And where did they say they're making maps killer sided?
Newer maps do not favor killer at all. GoJ, anyone?
Coldwind is still pretty good for survivors. Midwich is still a bit killer sided but it's way better now. Hawkins rework is also significantly better. About the only map I can think of released in the last while that might be a bit killer sided is Nostromo, and that's more an issue of it being an amazing Nurse map.

All cold wind maps became hella killer sided with nothing but trash loops, you might as well stand still and die.

Ever since they reworked eyrie it doesn't even feel survivor sided to me, as a survivor I hate being sent there, easy to spawn 3 to 4 gens and all these stupid holes they added makes 0 sense. Guess if you have balance its okish.

Except, an honorable mention to OG Chapel which was easily the most balanced map we've ever had, and even that one was ruined.

The SM execution happened recently, and these days the Forums do not have the "killer heavy" aspect that it used to have.
But it was definitely the case back in the day. One example that can be given is when people were pushing for Decisive Strike to be nerfed, during the DS + UB meta. You would constantly see such posts.

I have no clue what you're talking about but I've been lurking on Twitter (X), Steam forums, the official forums, Reddit, TikTok and YouTube for 5 years and all of them are nothing but survivor sided. Nothing but complaints against killers. This is how Skull Merchant, Chucky, Freddy, etc. got caught in the nerf hammer factory. So what you said is false.

I recall, back in the day, a lot of killer mains talking about how miserable the role could be and the smurf/derank squads at low ranks and maybe double the survivors telling them to git gud.

No, I think survivors are going to these specific maps, not because they're the least weak of the bunch, but because they have overwhelming advantage their. I'd find that super boring, just going to a really easy map all the time.

That wasn't exactly the case, I would say.
What did happen was that some people claimed they were facing "Bully squads" on every single game, and we all know that does not happen. So people would point that out.
But the Forums did have a reputation of being biased towards killers for a while. Thankfully, that is no longer a thing.

Sometimes bad stats are worse than no stats.
NL tends to be a very small sample size at the top levels of play.

am i the only one that always opens task manage before the offerings show up 😂. I always dip if there is any map offerings whatsoever . My pc is so fast that i can be back into a new match in under a minute . I just have task manager open with the close dbd promt at hand so if any map shows up i can just close and reopen . That is my solution until they get removed in my next lifetime

Pretty much everyone who plays the game plays both Killer and Survivor, at least here. You want skewed, just go to the Survivor sided r/DeadByDaylight or the Killer sided Steam forums. These forums are balanced in comparison.
In both cases, on both sides, I never want to go to a map the other side is offering. I don't want to be run around the abusable Suffo Pit Main or deal with never-hook-me spots on Ironworks as Wraith. I don't want to be stuck having to deal with Rotten Fields or any other Coldwinds map because a Billy or a Blight wants to winstreak. I don't enjoy being dragged to Eyrie or Garden of Joy as Ghostface or Sadako due to the high line of sight and brightness that neuters stealth play, and I don't like it when sweaty Chuckies take me to Swamp to use the tall grass or Legions force Haddonfield because it's Killer-sided and they can ping-pong between the houses easily.
I. Don't. Like. It. When. People. Abuse. Map. Offerings. To. Force. The. Game. In. Their. Favor.
Period, end of. It's sweaty, it's stupid, it's unfair, and it drives a further wedge between sides that shouldn't even exist because most people play both sides. I think literally EVERYONE who plays the game can agree with that.
There is no us vs. them. This isn't an issue where Killers or Survs benefit more over the other, and it doesn't matter what side of the schism these forums fall on.
Bad maps ruin the fun for everyone, and people abusing the maps to tilt the game in their favor, even on the side YOU personally play more of or favor, are a problem.

I agree with you! I've seen it as a lurker before joining being more Killer sided in the past for sure, it's a lot healthier now.
