Past overcharge and call of brine meta
Can someone explain me the math behind it?
If I do the math, I only come to 400% (200% x 200%). I really don’t get how some say it was 600% or 500%.
What do you think of the old regression speed?
I think call of the Brian was perfectly fine before the nerf and overcharge was much stronger, which you can see in the next video. They should have only nerfed overcharge and not call of Brian, which is a pretty much useless perk now.

Maybe it was PTB..? Overcharge could go up to 400% (i think), and then CoB was 200%, but I shelved that meta at the back of my mind because ######### gen kick meta

How did overcharge make gens regress at 400% speed? In every description I find, it says 200%.
The person in the first video says 600% and the person in the comments says 500% (if both of them are combined).

I found out that the wiki information about overcharge is wrong. It says 200 % for its old version instead of 400%. Now everything makes sense.

it's 100%+100%. 0.25x3 = 0.75.

first iteration of overcharge in ptb was regressing 100%→400%. this was later nerfed to 100% →200%. the gen have hard-limit of being regressed by 400%. people attempt to combine call of brine+overcharge for 500% but it was bugged in the ptb due to hard limit. instead of raising upper limit, BVHR immediately nerfed it. even with nerf, it didn't solve the problem because issue was infinity kicking still allowed almost every killer to drag out every game for 30-40 minutes on nearly every map.
eventually all corresponding perk were nerfed and gen-kicking limits were imposed to not have 40 minute games. Mandy said something like, "DBD was not designed to have long drawn out games".

The 6.1.0 PTB Overcharge was 400% (500% with Brine) but that never made it to a live build, it got nerfed before release.
CoB + Overcharge at its peak on live servers was 300%

Thanks now everything makes sense, but l still don’t get why call of brine got nerfed, because it barely did anything compared to overcharge.

Brine gave more regression than Overcharge since it didn't have any buildup, it was at full power immediately.
The only time Overcharge was better was if survivors missed the Overcharge skill check, or if the gen was left regressing long enough for Brine to wear off since it stops after 1 minute.
But regardless of which one was actually stronger they paired well together

It isnt wrong, its just it usually doesnt list changes from PTB to live. 400% Overcharge was only on PTB (thank god)

Yes, but overcharge got three positive things while call of brine is better at nothing.
Call of brine only got the regression, which was only + 15 seconds and the information, which is not good and can be better by overcharge.
Overcharge got more regression than 15 seconds, can affect more generators than one, has better information if survivors miss skill checks, which also regresses the generator.
Sure the combination should have been nerfed, but call of brine wasn’t even that good at 200% and now does barely anything. It increases the regression to 18.75 seconds, which is 3,75 seconds more than the basekit.

Sorry, but I don’t get your math . Call of brine added 15 seconds to the 15 seconds basekit regression over 60 seconds not 8% and that without overcharge.

Yeah that confused me, because I searched them on YouTube to know how strong they were, but they only showed me the stronger version.

The regression you gain increases the charges per second lost.
PTB Overcharge increased regression by 400% and Call of Brine increased regression by 200%; keep in mind that this would be 600% combined.
Regression from kicking Generators is 0.25 C/S (Charges Per Second) with 90 Charges (360 Seconds); Survivors repair Generators at 1 C/S with 90 Charges (90 Seconds). With Overcharge and Call of Brine, this is increased 1.25 C/S with 90 Charges (72 Seconds), or in other words, it would regress the Generator at a faster rate than it could be repaired.
Keep in mind you would also get the passive effects of both perks on top of the regression, youd get the difficult Skill Check and regression from Overcharge and youd get the information on hitting Skill Checks from Call of Brine; but there was this weird synergy/bug where the difficult Skill Check would always proc the notification from Call of Brine.

100% (basekit) + 100% (call of brine) + 300% (overcharge) = 500%

If you are not talking about a ptb version, which I don’t know wether it changed from ptb to live, then it said: The damaged Generator regresses at 150/175/200 % of the normal Regression speed. This means it is 100% basekit regression + 100% call of brine regression.

no it does not.
it adds 0.25 charges per second as regression. 0.25*60 = 15 charges. 15 charges is 15 second of a gen. the raw % is 17% because 17% of gen == 15.3 charges. I made made mistake in my initial post.
the overcharge has complicated formula which is related to integration because you need calculate range between 1 second and 30 second of regression which i did long time ago and than last 30 seconds is 30*0.25 = 7.5 seconds. overall, i remember that it was around 11-12 seconds of regression. I am just going estimate this because i do not remember exact 1:1 numbers, but it is roughly about 13% regression.
17%+13% is 30%.
call of brine adds 100% regression than stops after 60s. overcharge adds 100% regression over 30 second period than goes on to infinity. The base is 100% regression which is 1/4 slower(0.25 charges per second). over 60 seconds, you get 15 seconds which is 17% regression. when you add 17% from cob, 17% from base, 13% from overcharge and 2.5% from base-kit kick, you get 50% regression over 60 seconds. those were the numbers.
eruption also add 10%.

It was quickly toned down from 400 to 200 after a PTB. In 6.1.0 PTB patch notes, you can see it.

Okay I understand it know. Sorry in my post before I meant, 15 seconds worth of progress regress in 60 seconds and 15 extra seconds if you had call of brine. I said that wrong with %.

Sure the combination should have been nerfedBHVR though doesn't want to seem to nerf combinations. Exhaustion seems to be one of the rare mechanics they introduced to keep perks from being combined.
And while we have the gen kick limit now, we no longer have gen tapping which was one of the ways to counter a heavy gen regression build.
The main thing, beyond balance, was that the games just weren't very fun.

In the PTB, Overcharge's max was 400%. With CoB, it went up to 500%.
This didn't hit live. Instead, OC was reduced to 200%. With CoB, it went up to 300%.

The survivors are what allowed the killers to drag out matches. You're telling me the killer has all this time to just go around kicking gens, and not lose any time advantage or pressure?

i think it's problematic when other side can exaggerate a part of the game in an unhealthy way. for example i don't like that survivor can hide in lockers in end game, stealth around and extend games for 30+ minutes if not more depending on their stealth skills. it's not broken of course but it is not fun gameplay. it is same with 3 gens. was 3 gen broken/unbeatable? no. but 50 minutes of gen-kicking wasn't fun.
gen-kicking should be rewarding. in an ideal balance, gen regression would be meaningful like 200% base-kit and a killer equipping the perks would add 50%+50% on each perk. maybe killer would have like surge base-kit that begins regressing of all gens on the map when they down a survivor. if a killer stacks all gen perks, they can counter 4 toolbox squads with gen progression perks but they're not forced to use said perks unless they believe that they should equip said perks.
