Im Really Tired Of Toba Landing

I hate this map with a burning passion.

It's hard to see anything bc of my colorblindness, colorblind settings dont really do much to help.

The map is absolutely full of plants, foliage, and rocks that make it hard to see anything since there are many, many LOS blockers or objects that can be used to obstruct various Killer powers.

Keep in mind, I already struggle with Coldwind and Eyrie of Crows; but this map takes this issue and scales up to significantly.

Furthermore, it has its own dedicated Map Offering for no reason whatsoever. Nostromo Wreckage shares the SAME realm as Toba Landing, yet they both have different Map Offerings.

One of my least favourite maps especially for a range killer.

Played deathslinger and I might as well have been a bag of cement for all the good it did me.

Practically m1 killer all game due to so many objects for survivors to weave around.

I hate both maps on this realm for one reason; weird ass loops.

I without Windows as survivor the loops are to odd to pretty much pointless, with stuff sticking out to get stuck on (they are doing this with a lot of maps lately) that make this a very frustrating map for both sides.

If they didn't have the weird loops I would not hate it half as much

    Color blindness aside…

Isn’t Toba Landing considered one of if not the most balanced map in the game?

I probably from minority which enjoy this map, especially sounds. It's slightly uncomfortable to me playing here on both roles, but I'm pretty sure devs said somewhere that they created that map "to make us feel out of home" or something close to it. And it does make me feel like this.
I am also fine with it balance wise, same with Nostromo. Both are pretty balanced. Nostromo in weird way, but anyway.

Well I'm in a weird boat as a Stealth Killer Main - I appreciate Toba's dense foliage, lack of LoS to hide behind for ambushes, and large Main for Terror Radius change tomfoolery, but don't like how it's a pretty large map with fairly easy to loop strong structures including two shacks for some reason. I also don't like that it's such a nightmare for any speed Killer, playing Billy, Blight, even Legion on this map is a nightmare. Playing Demo, Bubba, or anyone who has odd collision mechanics is even worse. As Pinhead your box is always well hidden but your chains catch on literally everything, I can only imagine the issues someone like Xeno or Slinger have. And don't get me started on ranged Killers trying to do anything here, this map is awful for them. Basement is either in the hard to defend Main or one of the Shacks, neither of which are good positions. The loops are kinda rough for M1s, and the pallets are pretty much everywhere with few of them being weak or mindgameable.

If I end up here as Ghostface or sometimes Myers, I am pretty OK with it. If I end up here as Dredge, Pinhead, Sadako, Wraith, Oni, Nemesis or basically anyone else that I play, I'm over it. And if I end up here as Blight, Billy, Slinger, Trickster, Demo, or Legion I honestly just want to DC.

It's equally annoying as Survivor. The little ramps and different loops are cool, the Main is nice, and the hiding spots are plentiful. But finding gens or people on hooks here is awful and one of the few hints you get are these hard to spot little blue glowing flowers by the gens; they don't even show up near every Toba gen. Reading where vaults and pallets are in all of this red and yellow is awful, I can't see anything. It's also hard to see Survivor or Killer auras in general, it's just really rough.

For both sides, finding the gates is hard when they're so far apart, and things like auras, scratch marks, and blood also blend in a bit too much, just like on old Borgo. Objectives (hooks and gens) also feel like they blend in and that doesn't feel good.

I get that BHVR wanted to make us feel like we were in an alien realm unlike our own but this just wasn't the way to do it, and IMHO Nostromo is worse for the same reasons - Okay Main, kinda crappy large map with poorly designed loops that are hard to chain, and hard to find gens/hooks. Honestly I think MOST players both sides do not enjoy these maps at all, I can't think of many who do actually.

tbf, personally i think its the most balanced because it sucks as both killer and survivor pretty evenly.

    also colorblind tho

Like the other person said I like it for Stealth Killers. Love it as Myers and Hag, personally. I don’t mind it as survivor but it definitely has some strange loop set ups so I can see why you wouldn’t

The map has too many background noises. Its distracting.

In my opinion also the worst map, really unpleasant to look at.

Even if the loops are not particularly well thought out, at least a revision of the color design would be appropriate.

Yeah…Toba is an accessibility nightmare. It's also sensory overload.

How would you suggest Toba Landing be changed to better fit your disability? Apologies if this is something you can't know, but is there a way they can tweak the colors of the map or the colorblind settings to help you see better?

Using neutralized colors and making Scratchmarks significantly more saturated and bright (avoid mid-tone or neutralized red) would be an amazing change to help prevent the two from easily blending in; Alternatively, bringing in more purple and less of the pink-ish red.

Thanks for bringing this point up Jim, I too find it sensory overload sometimes. I'm just happy I rarely get it.
