Happy I found other games

So do I still play dbd? Yes. Do I play it often? Not really. Overall the game isn't boring I still try to enjoy what there is left but it's when playing against killer or playing killer is where my disappointment ends up I get killers slugging because three gens are left and or tunneling because what a single gen went off. Plus event wise just seems to bring out more toxic players and with matchmaking well it makes it worse. But I noticed playing other horror games either multi-player or solo has been a lot more of a fun experience. Will I abandon DBD? not by a long shot I still have hope that the game will be cleaned up a bit and might return to a somewhat normal ground and the fact I spent way to much $$$ on it

I play GTA online when not playing dbd. As survivor knowadays I don’t expect to ever escape and as killer I always expect to get maybe a 1-2k during events. During 2v8 it was almost impossible to play a normal game without people being mean.

I like to cycle through games. What makes DbD unusual to me is that I keep coming back to it.

Same here. When I think of playing survivor now, I just feel like the negatives outweigh the positives. But playing killer is alright, so I'm kind of a killer main lately…

I've been returning to some old post-apocalyptic survival games recently too, so that's fun. I'm a big fan of State of Decay 2 on lethal mode with super dark nights. Packs of blood ferals at night are like DbD on overdrive: run or hide, but don't let them get close ;)

Been addicted to Balatro as of late. DBD is a lot of fun, but there's always room for something else

I don't play much anymore either. Usually just to burn through the tome on the day it releases and then I immediately go back to whatever else I was doing. For me this is the least fun the game has ever been on survivor. I had taken a few breaks prior to this but I just can't get back into it because of how frustrating playing survivor has become.

Right now I'm playing Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed, Minecraft, Doom and DBD. I don't find myself able to play DBD for hours at a time, unlike other games. I just find there's something weirdly personal about losing in it. Whenever I play Ghostbusters, it doesn't seem to much matter whether the ghosts or the busters win. But in DBD, it just feels like much higher stakes, and some stuff other people do I feel kind of creates that pressure. Some nights I'm just not up for it.

DBD is still something I enjoy. I still have those occasional feel good games. But some nights, like tonight, it can be frustrating to the point where I just play a few matches and leave. I think it's important to know when the "ok I've had enough" moment hits. Sometimes a person just needs a break.

But the point of dbd should be what ghost busters is. You cares if you won. I saw gameplay of it and people are either goofing around with the animations of possessed objects or taking the game not seriously but at a level of if it were like an actual movie.

DBD in its current state isn't like that being put on the ground for five minutes because a gen went by or just barely able to do anything because you did one small mistake so suddenly everyone marks you as the bad guy ruins the experience. I get the other side have no responsibility for your fun but it still does enter the zone of people will turn away if nothing is done about the problems that turn people away. BHVR does have the resources to make major improvements and I won't lie I feel like some people with me included would be fine without any new DLC or cosmetics heck for me I don't mind a break from the archives if it means focusing on major problems like matchmaking, perks, bugs and overall QOL of the game.

But the game currently to me is not what I remember back in 2018. I enjoy the game because it brought characters I never thought of into the game and it actually has had me meet new friends but now it's in a state where that enjoy is poof gone. So overall if BHVR is like 'where's all the players?' simple you need to fix the problems the game as to have people come back. Take a break from the chapters and outfits and just focus on fixing what has been sitting there.

Will I stop playing DBD? no but I have found other horror games I enjoy a little more then dbd in its current state just due to the dullness of facing the same perks, being slugged or tunneled or even just dealing with matchmaking. A game with matchmaking won't be perfect but a game that as a system to improve matchmaking can happen not just kills or escapes but overall performance in the game it might be hard to make but it's possible.

Fun! Outlast looks super scary 😰 And I’ve played Binding of Isaac! I became addicted to rogue like games after that. The graphics in Isaac are so nasty, I can only play it for a little bit lol.

If I’m not playing Dbd I’m usually playing a Square Enix game.

I currently have some of ff9s music stuck in my head right now. I only played it once it came to xbox but that was easily my favourite. 9 and 10

During 2v8, which I had exhausted the fun out of after a day or two, I played through and completed The Last of Us remake, having originally only played it for a few hours on PS4.

Came back to DBD refreshed. The Christmas event though has been pretty tough. The match quality as survivor has been pretty dreadful overall, and I've been playing less and less as it's gone on. The last few days I've barely touched DBD apart from a bit of killer.

Downloaded the PS5 enhanced The Witcher 3. I really couldn't get into it when it first came out but now I'm hooked! Having a lot of fun exploring and have so many quests and missions to complete. So much stuff to do! A masterpiece of the open world type of game.

Once the Christmas event is over, I'll be back to playing DBD a lot again I'm sure but at the moment, this event feels like a chore to play, and normal mode during events is off the charts sweat fest.

DBD is just a game, sometimes I play it, sometimes I don't, don't take it too seriously, just relax

It's definitely a good thing to have other games to play alongside DBD. The spell that it held over me has kinda broken this year. It's still joined a handful of games that I think I'll probably play forever (Tetris, Street Fighter and the Sid Meier's Pirates! remake, if you're wondering), but I'm no longer completely obsessed with it.

I guess I got to around 1000 hours and felt my skills plateau. It's like my brain is saying to me "OK, you've had enough now son" and refuses to learn anything further about this game. So I mostly just come back to play events with the goal to complete tomes and to P100 my Meg and Legion, since I've unlocked pretty much everything else I'm interested in. I certainly have a healthier relationship with the game now.

    I love Outlast Trials!

I'm on the same boat, can't see myself playing more than 5 matches per day (and I don't play it every day). I think having other games is a good thing, I'm enjoying DbD more the less I play it πŸ˜‚

I really am craving Killer again though, I've been on a break and kinda just… didn't play any Killer over the last few months. Been thinking of picking up a new Killer that is actually hard to win with too just for the challenge, I'm thinking of trying some other M1s out for a while that aren't just Dredge and don't have anything fancy. Myers is looking fun lately.
