Everyday is cheat day
I don't want to insult the dev's but the fact that a player can disable the hook mechanic, clip through pallets and increase the speed he runs at to a laughable level really rises the question how that can happen without the game noticing.
I just played against a cheater who did this so extremly obvious that even other survivors were catching up on it. Of course I recorded and reported him but if bhvr is so lazy and doesn't enable mac bans then this little noob will just buy another Epic account for 1 $ and keeps cheating.
The only thing worse then an obvious cheater is a subtile cheater. Vaulting 5 % faster, running 3 % faster, hitbox 10 % smaller, exhaustion 10 % faster recovered, blind 0.5 seconds longer, stun longer, gen 10 % faster, wallhacks.
They not only are still skilless noobs but it also makes you as the killer really question your skills, your ping, the game, god and the base mechanics. Subtile cheaters are a daily thing in dbd and it is beyond frustrating.

The game doesn't notice because the servers do not do any sanity checks, looking for impossibilities such as a character moving at ridiculous speeds or flying.

It continues to baffle me how servers cannot auto-detect this stuff. I refuse to believe it's not technically possible to detect something happening in the game that shouldn't be possible without cheating. It's very frustrating that BHVR have not devoted resources to making this happen, and have instead put the burden on players to use a cumbersome reporting system that some people may not even be use if they don't have the ability to record their matches.

I can assure you it is possible. It is not even very complicated to do.
But you would need to assign resources for the developement and maintenance of it and on top you would need to allocate slightly more ressources per match to make it possible.
I think this should be mandatory for any game but in fact this costs money and something that costs money is a nono in business.3 -
As mentioned already, there is currently no server-side validation in DBD, and that's after 8 years.
I always find it very amusing when something is written about an "arms race" between cheaters and developers, it's always easy to categorize these people based on that comment.
The fact is, even if it is claimed that it is a priority and that work is being done on it, the status clearly shows that it is not so. Cheaters are not becoming fewer, they are simply becoming more subtle because there is no automatic protection.Personally, I won't invest money in the game again until something is finally done about this topic, that's a dealbreaker for me.
