I want to know if the Block button in the game actually works ?

I want to know if the Block button in the game actually works. Today, I played Solo Survivor and encountered a toxic player (on my own team). I had an argument with him after the game in the chat. After that, I clicked Block so I wouldn’t have to encounter him again. But after two more matches, I still ended up in a room with him. (I minimized the game and watched YouTube while waiting for a match, then came back into the game without looking at who was in the room). When I encountered him again and he realized we were on the same team, in both matches he intentionally gave up as soon as he was hooked. He struggled and let himself die on the hook. He didn’t leave the match. He waited until the game ended or until I died, then continued to insult me after that.
So, is the Block system in DBDL just for decoration?

I believe the block button prevents them from adding you as a friend in-game, but other than that it doesn't really do anything.

If that's true and it only serves that purpose, then it would be a really bad block system. Thank.

it’s true. It’s only a Communication block so they cant spam you with friend invites.
The naming in-game is very confusing..
