Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

New Rift/Tome

This is genuinely so sick. Best one in a little while, so much to like, so much to be happy about, genuinely so cool. Love the red not blue deep rift, not super ecstatic about all characters involved but I'm not arguing with how cool it all is still. Nice job BHVR, on that at least. 👀

Its definitely the most "shiny" tome yet…

At a certain point in real life, I looked at my closet and I got tired of how many black shirts I owned. It's good to introduce variety. If Deep Rift is the same color of cobalt blue, it's difficult to make multiple outfits for a character. By choosing alternative colors instead, the value of Deep Rift is kept without becoming stale.

The only outfits in the Tome I sorta like are the recolors, but there's nothing in it that makes me say "I want that", even for the characters I do play as.

I'm happy to see Legion get a pretty nice skin on the free track (it's been a while since one of my mains got something neat in the rift). I know it's only a recolour, but I think it might actually be better looking than the original.

All the Killer ones are really good in this rift, to be fair. Especially the Blight, that one's particularly scary looking. The Survivor ones are not my style, but I do like the Thalita and Yun-Jin fits and they're the only ones I would actually use.

Overall, I think it might be the strongest rift we've had for quite a while, even if it's not 100% my cup of tea.

    Eh… its purple versus teal.

Gooners p2w'd the jane outfit already too which is kinda sad

Plague outfit looks nice though, I'm a fan

I agree honestly. I would like it much more if it didn't have the magical rising ribbon. Form a gameplay stance also that outfit will most likely get you seen and kill faster than the other survivors lol. I can only imagine playing killer and just seeing a ribbon floating behind a rock or in a brush xD

I like the recolors a lot. They cooked with these.

The new outfits.... look interesting, I'm starting to think that Pinhead and Sable designed them.

Never mind how much I despise the word "gooner", how is the Jane skin P2W? Nothing in this game is P2W except rarely bugs and those tend to get killswitched until they can be fixed (like Baermar's Ugly Sweater was)

I dont mind most of it. The castlevania one had me devastated that my favorite characters were forced into cosplays instead of legendaries (ex:shanoa) so ive been sour about it since it was announced. This one atleast just has new skins that stand out from each characters entire wardrobes. I dunno why they keep reusing that hair for yun jin tho lol thats like the 3rd time is been in a rift.

    I'm split on this rift.

The only cosmetics I like belong to killers, but whenever you play killer, you can barely see your cosmetic in-game so I don't care. As for the survivors, I think most of the rift cosmetics range from mid to downright ugly. The only redeeming part to me is Renato's torso and legs, but I still hate the head. And don't get me started on the travesty that is David's skinny ponytail… Not to downplay all the work that went into designing and modelling it all—I know it took a lot of time and effort. They're just not for me.

I'll still unlock the premium track—I play enough to always reach the end of each rift and you get the cells back—but I won't use any of the cosmetics we got this time around. My desire for simpler, more everyday clothes increases with each collection…

I'm with you. I hate all the avant garde fashion they keep adding for survivors. Feels so out of place and ridiculous.

The last level of the track has not been out long enough for anyone to remotely get close enough to finish it. Yet some people have the skin (p2wd the entire thing)

P2w being used here, for purposes of fastforwarding the track rather than naturally progressing it.

Perfectly fair & I agree that's the only downside for me, I love the aesthetic but in terms of who gets the skins I wish it was characters I'm more likely to play.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. You get the entire Jane skin just by buying the Rift Pass, the whole outfit is the first reward on the Premium Track.

The killer cosmetics are pretty great. The aesthetic is like a combination of Dark Souls/Lords of the Fallen/Cenobites. I hope DbD does more cosmetics in this style.

As for the survivors… I'll probably use Jeff's head. Thalita's cosmetics are okay, though the top's not very flattering. Otherwise, nah, don't like the survivor outfits.

This tome is on another level.

Adorned in lace, caressed by satin ribbons... Sensuality presents itself...

The threat of pain ever present, a tension of anguish emerges.. Is this the nightmare you've always dreamed about? 😯😳😱

The romantic sadism is off the charts. Horrifying. 11/10 What an amazing theme.

I understand why some are disinterested in the bdsm tome lol. I for one think it's fine and does fit the tone of the game. The skins are cool my only problem is they're for characters that have 83 quadrillion cosmetics already. Meanwhile The Unknown has gotten one tome cosmetic since his release nearly a year ago. Sure he's getting one of the cooler artist from the fog skins we've seen in a while but my point still stands… Did we really want another huntress cosmetic?

That's not what Pay 2 Win is though. The skin gives no advantage in game, therefore neither having it on Day 1 or not having it until it comes out in a year or two in the Store makes it Pay 2 Win.

Pay 2 Win is when you buy something that gives you an advantage over someone who does not buy it.

I think the BDSM theme is fine, and I actually hope they keep being adventurous with their cosmetic choices. But I'm not a fan of most of the cosmetics themselves, i think they went a bit over the top with alot of small unnecessary additions. As the saying goes, less is more sometimes.

Yeah, they seem to love making really cool skins and then rendering them impractical to run by adding some piece of obnoxious flair. It's usually a backpack/helmet, but in this case those ribbons.

It's like I'd really like to use it, but it's kind of like a big neon sign telling the killer where I am. And forget trying to hide. There have been many of cosmetics I would have purchased but didn't over the years because of this sort of thing.

I get the desire to be creative, but at the very least they should make some of this stuff toggleable.
