Reporting DCs
Does reporting DCs or Giveups do anything? I am getting this in EVERY game that I play in the afternoon/early evening. What is the punishment for this? Is there a punishment? I guess it could be abused too, but this is ridiculous.

The best way of getting around this, is bee line to the brat on hook and yoink them back into the game. This has 4 outcomes: -
- They start playing again, you're still screwed with likely a lost hook stage on them, but it's better than nothing.
- They AFK. AFKing is a reportable offence, so you can report them for that.
- They start throwing pallets, missing skillchecks and body blocking teammates. Helping the killer is a reportable offence, so you can report them for that.
- The killer slugs them and maybe gives you and your team a chance/free escape.
Never ever let anyone suicide on hook if you are close enough to stop them. Your chances of survival are always better as a result of points 1 and 4… if not, then at least you put a legitimate report against them.

Yup honestly that usually works if the survivor giving up does not use their brain. I still don't see why you guys want to stop people from giving up so bad but eh I guess that is just your choice. If they don't wanna play why even bother with them seems useless to try to make them play.

So better to play in the morning I guess it is true during evening the games go towards absolute unplayability. Better just play during the time when normal people who are not toxic or annoying are playing so you don't get stupid situations. Makes everything nicer and as for those guys who just give up yeah don't report disconnects it does not work. Those who give up on hook I guess don't bother with them they will either ruin the match or just give up in a way that still looks like they trying. Pretty much don't deal with those who don't want to play is all I can say. Just let them go XD

Because it spoils the game?
As Survivor it instantly makes the game almost a certain loss. The quitter basically quit for everyone else on your team as well in that instant, and if you're still trying to win, it is so annoying to have another player just throw the game down the drain.
As Killer it instantly makes the game an almost guaranteed win, which believe it or not, some players dont want. Some.people play for a challenge and/or have empathy for the remaining survivors.
When I play killer and someone leaves, I am now put in an annoying position of having no point to playing normally... and either have play uber hard and ruthless to finish it quick, or I have to turn into a farmer and let survivors complete gens and leave.
Now don't get me wrong, I like to goof off and mess around time to time... but it's annoying when that scenario is forced upon you, especially when completely unprovoked.

Well we got no clue what has happened to the guy since he is doing it but uh still just annoying them by you know refusing them their quitting is not really helping. It will probably make things worse on literally everyone both the current game and the next game they decide to quit. I dunno it just does not fix it at all. But eh good luck with the effort

As I said, there are 4 possible outcomes, 2 benefit me, 2 leave me in exactly the same situation as before, with the added silver lining of at least reporting the guy who tried to ruin the game for me and everyone else.
There is actually a 3rd scenario that benefits me, they DC and give me a bot instead, so that's 5 reasons to unhook... there is literally no reason for me not to unhook them if they are trying to quit, there are only benefits. 6 reasons if I take the stance that I'm keeping this player in this game, and stopping them from running others.
You may argue that it might upset them, and you're right, we have no clue what happened to the guy to make them want to quit, but every single one of us makes an implied agreement when we queue up with each other to play this game. The game doesn't work without 5 players, so if anyone deserves for their "situation to be made worse", it's the one who has decided to pack their toys up and go home to ruin the game for everyone else.
Don't be an SoH apologist man. There may be a reason for it, but there is never an excuse, and it should not be tolerated.

I am speaking from survivor side. They either give up on hook, DC, or worse you get them off hook and they run around dropping pallets. I love this game, but why quit? At least try. I have never dcd in this game and I have been playing for years. Its ridiculous. Worse that I have seen it!

You must play killer. Trust me, I play solo que survivor and it is horrible. Never seen it this bad. First person found either dcs, or gives up on hook, or worse you rescue and they won't let you heal and drop all the pallets. Irritating. Make them play? They chose to play? So at least think of the other team.

I prefer the DCS at least you get a bot! Some times them bots be cookin! LOL!

ALSO! In the Report menu it mentions RAGE QUITTING, which is DC? No? I mean if they actually look at the games that are reported, they could tell the difference in a legitimate loss of connection and a rage quit I would think.

That is very upsetting to read. These people just shouldn't be allowed to dc until a certain point in a match. Visit my post abt adding a time buffer where no self unhook attempts and dcing is prohibited? Ee need this to at least have quiters waste more time

No idea what SoH means but uh okay good luck with your endevours. Those who are foolish enough not to cover up their giving up deserve to get a report anyways honestly. gg

Oh well I do play survivor a bit. I will give up in some specific circumstances for sure I've had some people who really felt like they needed to be vigilantes for some reason as if that makes the situation any better. But yeah you are right this usually happens at least I can say I don't drop the pallets out of frustration but I had to be slugged for 4 minutes cause I did not want to deal with the killer or to get repeatedly grabbed by survivor on hook cause apparently that gives this fool a pleasure to feel more rightous when in reality it does not matter at all. It is just a game. As for the whole thinking of the team remember that cooperation is encouraged but not forced if behaviour removes the dc penalty we would see people actually disconnecting but until they stop their illogical idea of dc penalty to actually give your teammates a bot then I dunno what you expect from anyone with a bit of brain. Nobody is gonna punish themselves especially under these circumstances. Anyone got the right to give up whenever they want they paid the game they can do as they please that is what happens when you make a paid game. Everyone kinda gets the same rights to do as they please as dumb as it sounds.

makes sense! I guess this is more of a venting post as there really are no solutions for peoples behavior. I once again had several matches yesterday with this kind of stuff. I have givin up on hook before when it is just me and another survivor left and several gens, simply so they can get hatch. Sometimes the other teammate understands what is taking place, and sometimes they try to save me. LOL!
