Another problem the bots are causing in lobbies

Every single match I’ve played today in solo has 2 bots. Every match I’ve played both killers only go after the non-bot survivors. They tunnel them out quickly because the bots are clearly easy pickings so if they take out the real players first, it basically guarantees them a 7-8K
So the most useless players, the bots, always survive until the end because they’re ignored the whole match making it essentially a 2v6 as others have said. And they’re not ever on gens. They simply run around the map trying to stay away from the killers terror radius. I had one bot save me from a cage all day.

Just had a match where I was caged in a hallway on RPD. Both bots ran up and down the hallway past each other never coming to unhook me until I went to second stage.

Killers are leaving the bots alive because keeping them alive prevents the hatches from spawning. Once you are down to 1-2 survivors and 1-2 bots, you can then use the bots to find hiding survivors. You can injure the bot and then follow it from a distance, the bot will run to a survivor for heals. It's basically a free whispers perk.

Yeah I literally just had a match where me and a friend were alive and one bot. The bot got caged and I made the mistake of saving him for him to follow me all over the map trying to get healed when I was trying to spread out and separate so we wouldn’t be caught. Needless to say the bot led the killer to me and I died. Lovely.
At this point I fully support dodging any solo lobbies that don’t have 8 people or only playing if I have an 8 stack SWF cuz this is garbage.

Again as i said in various posts of clearly inexperienced players complaining abt something thats their own fault or out of their control, the bots are not the problem, The players are. The lack of mmr in 2v8 means bad teammates. Killers also have really hard times tunneling out any survivor, since they essentially have to find them after caging. Getting found after being fully healed and sent at least 40 meters away fron both killers is simply embarrassing on your part. And correction, bots are always on gens. That is all they do, and its their intended purpose to counter dcing players while real players take on chase.
I have not seen a single attempt of tunneling once out of the 10 survivor games i played, 9 pf which i survived and majority being 6 outs or more. One match i played agaunst a wesker and legion. I had over 7 minutes of chase time between both killers, BECAUSE theres no mmr, WHICH MEANS anyone in your lobby can be any level of experience. This gamemode is survivor sided, it just keeps getting better and better for survivors, now being able to straight up REMOVE STAGES COMPLETELY FOR FREE!!! Theres no excuse why any combination of killers should be preventing a minamum of 4 outs a match, that is on you and or your teammates

Another problem I've observed concerning the bots is they will beeline for the herbs and burn through them before any human survivor player can locate, let alone use them. Worse, I've seen the bots rush to the yellow herbs even when they only have a single cage state.

The bots are useless and usually aimlessly roam the map, bringing The Killer to you when injured. Some forget to mend, or they don't cleanse after being Infected or Contaminated. I'm also noticing the trend of keeping the bots alive for the reasons others have outlined. The devs need to address why people don't want to queue for Survivor, as a 200% bonus isn't a great incentive for people swimming in BPs. Introducing useless bots and making the mode a 2v6 isn't the solution.

Okay, so first off, killers are running across the map to find the cages after hooking a survivor. A caged Survivor may have two or three survivors running to go save and heal them. This has been the norm ever since they made the cages more stationary.
Secondly, the bots don't consistently do anything. It would be nice if they were more goal-oriented, focusing on a single task, whether it's saving survivors or working on generators. These bots behave differently than those in the normal game; if you're healing a survivor, they just walk up against you instead of going to the other side. They need to make the bots the same as the ones in the regular game.

Bloody hell. Came back here to report a match I just played. I was opening a chest in 2v8, and a bot Jeff ran up to me. The bot and I were fully healed, the killers were literally on the other side of Ormond (a Scout was giving away their auras), a gen was less than 8m away and in line of site of both of us.
What does the bot do? It runs up behind me and cycles between t-bagging and crouch walking into me for the entire time it took me to open the chest. What the actual hell?4 -
Yeah, stuff like that should have been expected because it is all stuff which happens in 1v4 already once a Bot is involved. I urge everyone to just spectate a Bot when you are dead in your games. You will see how useless they just are, sometimes wandering around without any Killer in sight, often next to a Gen. They are just programmed to be very bad at the game.
And things like ignoring the Bots also happened in 1v4 already, the Devs should know that this is a thing and this will also happen in 2v8. Bots being scared of the Killers Terror Radius is also a thing in 1v4 - and it does not matter what the Bot is doing, whether it is just running around, healing someone (even at 99% heal) or doing a Gen (even if it would be finished when the Killer arrives), the Bot starts to run around. This behavior just got worse with 2 Killers and 2 TRs running around.
For some reason the Devs start to try unreasonable things (like adding Bots to 2v8 from the start), instead of just calling it a day with that mode and either retire it or make it fully PvE (with better Bots).

Bots was a bad idea from day one and the whole its good for a dc missing teamate is a lame excuse. People just kamikaze out anyways like 90% of the time of prevent you getting one .
Like I had a video tape pig as a solo guy 2 days ago and all 3 survivors instant dc which I assume a swf or all survivor just had the same mind of no thank you just which is extremely rare for a swf to dc and I just stood there, cause why would 3 bots be any help to me?
Then am confused cause people saying bots its a good thing to keep while others wants them gone. I feel a poll will help clarify this if people want bots gone or not.

joeyspeehole already said most of what my response would be but also you are wrong, first you can’t tell me what bots are doing in MY matches. I have recordings showing the bots are not on gens. Theyre running around the map in every direction as soon as they detect a kilers terror radius, they’re using up the herbs even when they’re not injured nor do they have a hook state (because you can use them even when you don’t need them) and they’re barely going for saves. Bots do not sit on gens. The only thing I’ve had bots do is attempt to heal me when I come across one and I’m injured. They are useless. Please don’t come in here and tell me what is and is not happening in my matches.
Also the removal of a cage state is not OP when there are 8 players and only 2 plants that remove a cage state. Not to mention ruin there’s zero guarantee that any survivor will get to use them since as stated the bots find and burn thru them first and that’s if the killer doesn’t also find it before you.
The fact that my post is not the only post on this forum alone (not to mention posts on other social media platforms) complaining about this is evidence that there is an issue with the bots. How big or small an issue can be debatable but you trying to completely dismiss bots as an issue is disingenuous and factually incorrect. Have a good day.

Gonna add my personal experience here. Lack of MMR this event is showing for sure, but I would not rush to call the bots useless just yet. I was having games where the bots were not only useful, but also managed to escape with the rest of us as well. That being said, when bots are unhelpful, they are REALLY unhelpful.

The HUD says otherwise. Like i said, they are mainly coded to progress the game while you do the hard and fun stuff, getting chased. Theres no problem with the bots I've never seen any of them ignore gens before or run away when the killers further than 12 meters away

If you put up the poll, I'll put in my vote.

You can do all of the challenges (except play as scout/medic) in the regular mode. Let's just band together and not play 2v8 so maybe bhvr will remove the bots.

I played enough to finish my first tome and went back to 1v4 yesterday. I will play again when bots are gone, sorry not sorry.😎

Well I confess idk how to lol.

Bots gonna bot! HA! I had a match where they were blocking the cage and I couldn't unhook. I was SCREAMING at my screen and my dog started howling. LOL! 2v8 is a MEME! Fun tip if a bot is opening a chest or trying to get a plant just do a teabag next to them and they will move.

Thanks much friend.

It's nice that you're providing your perspective. But I have to say that dismissing other's as being simply inexperienced or implying that they may be lying about their experiences isn't very constructive, nor does it make you seem like you are speaking in genuine good faith.
Ignoring the majority of real, expressed experiences in favor of your own not only comes off as biased, but it also doesn't help improve the game. We all bring different experiences to the table and if only one perspective is considerd "valid" simply because it's your own, then how could progression or balance ever come from selective experiences as opposed to the majroity of them?
For meaningful discussions and changes, we need to consider the majority's input, not just assume that anyone who disagrees with your own personal experience is either inexperienced or unwilling to learn.

Again you can’t tell me what my HUD says in my matches. Not sure if you’re just here to be a troll but you’re doing a horrible job at it. If you’re not trolling then you clearly don’t understand that your experience is not the only experience and there are thousands of other players in this game. And according to just this forum alone, even on Twitter and other places, I’m not the only person experiencing this. I’m gonna ignore you now since you’re not adding anything to the convo and just here to antagonize.
6 -
I think they’re just here to antagonize so I put them on ignore. It’s not a good faith interaction to just keep posting “Nope what you’re saying isn’t happening” We’ll it’s happening in my matches.. “No it’s not.” I’m not gonna engage with that any further.

In my experience, the bots hide at the earliest detection of a nearby killer. Absolute dead weight.
I started the event archive challenge to safely unhook 4 survivors. Next game, I had a bot race me to the cage and bodyblock me such that the prompt to unhook the survivor disappeared. I fought for 30 seconds with the bot, to try and receive the unhook prompt, only for the killer to come over and take us both down.
I felt really bad for the survivor that was in the cage watching me, and mildly infuriated that I couldn't make progress towards an archive because the bot refused to back off.2 -
They don't have enough of a clue on what the problem is, so instead they're just ruling out bots as the problem to why they can't last long enough fir any meaningful progression to be made

If you are not seeing them doing anything useful which ik you are since thats quite simply impossible, did you stop to think they are stealthing from a killer? Or they're actively in chase since you don't look at your HUD. Like i keep saying, theres no mmr, you can't expect your teammates to last long enough in chases for bots and other players to do gens. Not that the mmr system works anyway in the main game at least. Im antagonizing you because its simply your own fault. Im speaking from dozens of games with bot teammates, I've literally played mobile where bots are garunteed every single game usually. And trust me they're alot worse there than here on core. Their only purpose is to do objectives and help teammates while you get chased, thats it. You shouldn't be unhappy with their chases either, since chases aren't even suppose to last that long. Looping is an unintended game feature that the devs ended up building the game around, since the thrill of the chase is the most fun part

Bots won't do anything while in the killer's terror radius. You can see this in custom games when you start approaching a gen or when they're healing. If both killers patrol each side of the map, it causes the bots to do literally nothing but hide because they are always in the killer's terror radius. So, yes, there have been games where the bots did absolutely nothing the whole time.
Side note: I had gotten saved from a cage and Taurie bot showed up and started healing me. When the killer got close, she stopped healing and started crouch spamming non-stop. Their AI was not made for 2v8 in mind.

So the argument is that everyone struggling just doesn’t understand the problem, but you do? And their experiences don’t count… because they aren’t yours?
By that same logic, should we dismiss anyone struggling with killer because some players have 1000+ win streaks with Nurse or Blight? Or struggles with Clown or Cenobite because there are win streaks in the 100+? If someone out there is succeeding, does that mean no one else’s struggles or criticisms are valid?
Bots are designed to fail skill checks. They’re better than no player at all, but ignoring the majority of criticisms just because you personally don’t have an issue with them isn’t how balance works or how changes to games are considered/made.
8 -
The point is, doing badly is your own fault. Nurse and blight are insane, theres no excuse why you should be losing, unless your a console blight, then your controls are quite limited. Also, why would they dismiss other players because of nurse and blight? Im not wven sure what you're trying to say, maybe theres a language barrier that idk abt, but that does not sound right.
0 -
The point I was making is that dismissing criticism just because some people don’t struggle isn’t a good argument. And I was using killer winstreaks as an example for that point.
DBD is a game where skill alone can only get you so far, as it heavily relies on RNG. Bots are apart of that RNG, and to a large majority of players, it's a negative one. Think of it like getting a map with poor locker distribution everytime as Dredge. Does it mean there is no chance of winning? Of course not. But your chances are now slimmer regardless of your personal skill. For a dedicated Dredge main, it may not affect them. But majority who play Dredge are not dedicated mains, so they will struggle, and the struggle is unnecessary, just like the addition of the bots.
Bots do not have to exist in 2v8, they were implemented in an effort to help with wait times which hasn't worked. That was the entire purpose of them. The addition that a large majority of players feel that bots are not good teammates, make the change feel even more unnecssary, because not only did it fail to do what it was designed to do, but it made the overall experience worse for many people.
In any case, I'll end this here. Hopefully I clarified my post for you to better understand. We can both respectfully agree to disagree, as I've said my perspective and you have said yours.
Gliyn!

My recommendation to you is to ignore this user. They’ve been on here for days in several posts basically saying that anyone who claims an experience that they don’t agree with is a liar. They’re claiming they “proved” that what they’re saying is correct while alll they’ve done is state their own opinion but offered no evidence. They’re even calling the devs liars because they were supposed to have patched a bug but it didn’t get patched properly, the. Claimed that the devs are always lying about stuff.
Their entire engagement on here is in bad faith and revolves around “What you’re saying isn’t true and didn’t happen and that’s a fact because I said so and anyone who says it’s happening are liars.”
Either theyre a literal child just here to troll or an adult with zero emotional and social intelligence and possibly just here to troll imo.

I appreciate the advice. Once I realized that there was no real back and forth I stepped away. And I believe I did this in another discussion with a different user and you actually recommended to end that discussion as well and then I did haha
Sometimes I definitely get carried away and caught up in the spirit of discussion which can make me blind to realizing that the person I’m trying to find a common ground with—doesn’t actually want to find common ground. So I appreciate you reeling me back in.
I hate how weirdly passionate I am about this stuff lol.

That’s okay I think we can all relate to that. Protect your peace dude

In my experience, survivor bots are more enthusiastic about gen than North American server players or Chinese PTs whose goal is to torment killers on Asian servers, so the quality of matches is not that significantly affected. Chasing is also a good thing, although there are times when the routes are bad, but I think they are better than the average player because they run around the jungle gyms as if they can see the killers.
