OPERATION HEALTH IS REAL, I REPEAT, OPERATION HEALTH IS REAL
For those of you not in the DBD Discord, this was just recently announced, as you can see, we're getting massive QOL improvements and fixes this year
Here's to hoping this stuff actually fixes the problem instead of making the problems worse

more information can be found here.
13 -
Are there plans for balance changes or killer changes during this period or will it just be those changes?
3 -
Sounds like the biggest changes coming since the mass perk update, what, nearly three years ago now?
Some of these could really help solo queue but will see how it pans out in the coming months.......
4 -
text chat on console is all we are missing not too much to ask for 🙏 please
6 -
Lets hope so if they dont adress tunneling slugging camping etc correctly the pool of fun/viable killers might shrink even more
2 -
I hope a toggle sprint/auto-run for all platforms is included in the accessibility improvements!

This is HOPEFULLY good news.
5 -
I guess no FNAF in the Summer. Not sure I'm going to be liking the content drought until next year.
Edit: Just saw the youtube Otz linked in his server. I understand things are delayed now.

"anti-slugging surrender option"
great, slugging will be even stronger now, why bother hooking if the survivor can just surrender on the ground?
19 -
Survs losing collision with AFK crows should have been here already, glad to finally see it, hope it works both ways but i would guess so!
Overall very nice to FINALLY see plenty of these features/improvements, especially some that were already mentioned by the devs here and there for quiete some time and didnt get any follow-ups until now
additionally, please consider perk preview for all survs and not just your own and addressing perks that are so detrimental that others would dodge for them
2 -
Some of this looks good, but some looks more like a bandaid at best. They need to address the REASON things like slugging, tunneling, and go next happen, not just slap on a bandaid with "QoL" written on it.

"To disincentivize and properly penalize this behavior, we’ll be implementing measures that will help us identify when a player is attempting to “Go Next.” Once identified, they’ll receive a Disconnection Penalty Point and lose an entire Grade. We’ll be keeping a close eye on this system to ensure its accuracy, but we’re confident that that this will help alleviate the issue. "
Great, I will bring Slippery Meat in every game, let's see if this "mechanic" will ban me
Extreme Hiding & Body Blocking PreventionTo combat this, we’re changing the way AFK Crows operate, so they can more accurately identify when a player is deliberately avoiding engagement with their gameplay objective. Once a player receives Crows, their location will be immediately revealed to the Killer. We’ll also be incorporating a feature that allows players to lose collision after receiving a third AFK Crow, which should prevent instances of Body-Block related griefing. "
Great, now slugging for the 4k is even stronger. Thanks guys.
6 -
we're delaying things but we're not removing things, so whilst the normal release cadence will be adjusted there will still be Live Balance updates also.
2 -
Didn't think of that, but yeah. Especially how long will they need to be "slugged" for? If you do NOT "slug for the 4k" but still down the survivor, will they be able to surrender before you do the Mori and/or pick them up to carry them to the hatch? What if you do choose to, God forbid, slug for the 4k? Can both survivors just immediately give up? Will these surrenders count as a kill, or will they count as a bleed out? It's going to be Heck on Killer Adepts if the latter is the case.

Map Offerings"We recognize that Map Offerings are a bit divisive; some players enjoy them, while others feel they can grant an unfair advantage. The fact that they automatically bypass both the Map and Realm repetition system can also add to that frustration. Moving forward, Map Offerings will no longer guarantee the appearance of a given Map, but rather increase its chances by 20%. Note that they will not stack. We’re also looking to make it so Map Offerings, as well as several other types of Offerings, will remain a secret during load-in – that way, your decision to remain in the match will not be swayed by external factors. "
Huge nerf to killers, but I guess nobody wants to realize how strong a killer bringing an entire build and a map is. But whatever lol
Spawn RulesWe’re changing the default Survivor Spawn rules to ensure that each Survivor will spawn within 12 meters of one another, on the same floor (if applicable). To accomodate for this change, Shroud Offerings will be adjusted accordingly.
And Lethal Pursuer is not touched? Right.Perk Loadouts & PreviewAfter a successful round of A/B testing, we’ll be allowing players to see their own Perk loadouts while in a lobby, as well as adding additional Perk loadout slots.
Still not being able to see my team's perk. Lame.

This is looking very promising. I feel like most of these changes are to adress soloQ issues and Survivors in general which is nice, however I do also hope Killers can get something extra too with all these "anti-everything killer does that survivors do not like". Just hope it's not overkill. However this sounds very good on paper and can't wait to test all these changes and see how it goes.

"Anti-Slugging | Continued Improvements"
hopefully that will improve it further?
1 -
behavior cooking!!!!!!! the devs don't listen to who??????
1 -
I see "more perk presets" but I don't see "more outfit presets"…. I hope that's just part of the "and more" cause if not that would really suck.
2 -
Not sure what you're trying to acheive with this passive aggressive nonsense my guy.... You don't know the details of any these features yet... do you want things to change or not?
An yes absolutely test Slippery Meat, cause this will be important, though I'm in the camp Slippery Meat needs a rework.
10 -
Sorry, but most of these are absolutely terrible changes and they help most the killer than all parties
Not looking forward for any of these.5 -
I mean, if we are not supposed to share our thoughts from a preview text, what are we supposed to do?
8 -
This is incredible news. I’m truly thrilled. I know some people might be disappointed to see that we’re not getting a PTB tomorrow, but I’m certain that prioritising the game’s health now will ensure that we can have many successful chapters to come. Thank you BHVR!
2 -
It says the update will allow players to see their own perk loadouts in the lobby, is that meant to refer to survivors being able to see one another's perks, or really just your own?
I'm cautiously optimistic about this announcement. We'll have to wait and see how things shake out, but it looks like the team is taking on community feedback a bit better with this.
5 -
I think it's hilarious that some people genuinely thought they were never going to do anti-tunnel and anti-slug.
1 -
I just hope Operation Health means giving more Servers specifically to the Africa and ME region
1 -
pretty sure its just your own as they mentioned that it was already tested on live-servers which was exactly that (see the pic in the reddit link https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/13k9rvj/why_are_the_perks_showing_on_the_right_of_my/
2 -
actually missing the very obvious slugging moment where its completely not needed but just for killers ego. The moment there are 2 survs left and one is slugged so the killer can bypass the hatch mechanic and get a 4k. It results in a 4 minute hide from the last surv as well, and basically a period where you are just stuck as a surv. Even if you get found, where do you run too? No hatch cause teammate on the floor, no point in doing one of the 2 likely remaining gens. At this point, the game is lost for a survivor too, but the killer needs his completely 4 minutes although he has no idea where last surv is. At this point, the hatch should come in play too to end things and not drag it along. 4 minutes is a long time just staring at the floor.
3 -
This has the potential to be extremely good for the game and I'm super excited to see this. I'm looking forward to seeing what the team comes up with!
4 -
Yeah, but is there any need for the obnoxious tone?
It would be far more constructive and helpful, and be far more likely to be listened to if you were to point out potential oversights and issues, without the snide remarks and baiting of Us vs. Them argumentation.
Your points are not wrong, but you decided to instead write your points in a way likely to provoke an argument, much like we are in now.
10 -
Great opinion, I will still share my thoughts
3 -
Thanks for the answer.
Will you also share a roadmap for the balance changes and content like perks and killers?
1 -
Please hold out hope and wait and see 🙏
There’s a couple of things I’m nervous about on the list but we don’t know for sure how anything will work yet. The key thing is they’re trying to address the most common player frustrations with the game. Which is a HUGE win. Some of this stuff has been requested since I first started playing (2016).
If something doesn’t work they can tweak it until they get it right and this time they’ve set aside the time to do so.
4 -
For body block griefing prevention, I hope it applies to both killers and survivors. I had killers purposely body block me in corners with no way out.
Clarification: If a survivor has 3 AFK crows they should lose collision with both the killer and their teammates

Great good opinon*

I am assuming all of these changes are gonna be tested first on a PTB. Thats okay with me, but I don't have high hopes from the community to give an actual good feedback, specially from the anti-slug mechanic. What most of people want is to go next fast, not to make slugging harder. That frustrates me to a level.
4 -
you would still get crows as surv in either situation and if the collision is really tied to not having three crows you should be able to leave the area and not be blocked afterwards.

Some other things I hope are on their radar:
→ The tutorial. It's extremely outdated and covers less than the basics. It needs an overhaul to be brought up to 2025 standards.
→ The thumbs up system. Giving people a thumbs up at the end of a match doesn't do anything, but we know this is being tracked because of earlier stat posts. Give people who accumulate thumbs up-s a bonus in the form of Bloodpoints or Shards. Like, for every 10 or every 20 thumbs up you get an x amount of each.14 -
So nothing about reversing course on the awful map design choices of the last few years?
7 -
I hope they do. The map design wasn’t that great for quite some time.
5 -
While this is good news as a whole, I have been in these forums for so long to know that, as soon as they are starting work on these QoL changes, many start to complain about the lack of content.
Mark the time when I said it, and come back to this in the summer…

I’m glad BHVR are finally realising they need to stop steam rolling out new content and fix what’s there but some of these methods are just not what they should be and won’t resolve the issues as they exist. They’re going to promote them. I’m just going to post what I did in another thread:
‘Anti slug is needed but this is not the option to promote good game health. Why would this stop a killer slugging all survivors at 5/4 gens which has seen an increase in recent months? Why is it going to stop the killer slugging the last two survivors for the 4K when all survivors can just surrender and the killer still gets to walk away with their 4K BP? Why’s this going to stop survivors hiding by just moving round so they don’t get idle crows? It’s not. It’s an absolute waste of time for BHVR as it is not going to solve the issues at hand.
However, given they’re also choosing to just reveal the location of survivors when ‘Survivors (are) drawing out an unwinnable match by ignoring their objective and waiting out the clock’ rather than address why a match with half the team left in it is considered unwinnable shows that they have no interest in addressing the issues but wallpapering over the cracks’
4 -
lmao that already started..
1 -
Sounds like a great road map. BHVR is dealing with the two worst parts of the game, being bled out for four minutes, and survivors hiding till the server craps out. Not to mention the idle crows will remove collision, which removes another griefing tool.
This is a great start. I hope the devs are able to bring some more stability to the game's code whilst making all these changes.

I don't think I could disagree more with most of these changes. They're extremely out of touch with the solo survivor playerbase. They do nothing to address the core issues with the gameplay loop that lead to these situations. They're treating symptoms.
This seems like the worst possible way to address slugging. You're just giving the griefers the power trip they want. This does nothing to address the slugging power difference between solo and SWF. It does nothing to address the viability of slugging, or the gameplay around it. Slugging is exactly the same, except trolls now have more reason to do it because they enjoy making things miserable for other players, and you add even more of a power trip aspect by forcing a surrender.
Anti-hiding is absurd. You were so close to getting it. "Unwinnable games". Why is the game over when half the team is sacrificed? What incentive do survivors have to do objectives in that situation? Where is the player agency? Again, the problem with the gameplay loop is not addressed here. Do you understand that a game is essentially unwinnable if even 90 gen charges remain in a 2v1? Do we just wait for the killer to play eeny-meeny-miny-mo with the crows? What else is there to do?
Edit: I forgot the Go Next Prevention. Are you going to stop putting solo survivors in completely pointless matches? Again, you seem to think you're entitled to the player's time with this change.
These changes read like an entitled killer's wishlist. I've been playing for 7 years and 5k hours. This is absurd.

Every Killer is viable. You can play Trapper and will most of the time not be completely outclassed.
@Topic:
It is good that it is happening. But to play Devils advocate here:
- This only happens because FNAF is around the corner and it will be one of their biggest licenses ever (if not THE biggest). I dont like FNAF but I have to admit that it will be big for DBD. And then you dont want an influx of new players who have to deal with all those issues.
- Some of the things on that Roadmap could have been done way earlier. E.g. the point of hiding and bodyblocking, which will be improved with the use of AFK-Crows… Yes, it is nice that it is coming, but this could have been done years ago.
But I dont want to be too negative, it is nice that QoL-Changes are coming and BHVR means it serious, because they push back new releases. I hope in the longterm we will have less Chapters per year so that they dont have to push back anything.
Looking forward to them, especially the Anti-Slugging things. Because, well… Slugging is very, very common.

What a nice surprise to wake up to 😊
I am most excited for the Bloodpoint spending improvement and the Quest system! 😊😊😊
I’m very happy that an anti-slug system is being implemented. It may raise kill rates but we’ll see. I’m just happy that the issue is seen and something is being done about it.
How exciting!!!!! 🤩🤩🤩

I just wanted to comment for any devs that might end up seeing or reading this - THANK YOU.
I know how hard a decision it must be to put off bringing new content to the game, especially when new content brings revenue, but I seriously think every single change listed here has been highly requested for YEARS. DBD is SO long overdue for an operation health to fix bugs and address frustrating core principles of gameplay mechanics. I guarantee any potential loss of revenue will be offset by bringing back frustrated and burnt out players who were just tired of frustrating and unfair gameplay mechanics. Seriously guys, this is awesome. Good luck!

Instead of "anti-hiding", why not giving the killer the agency to start the endgame collapse when 2 survivors are left?
