Beware, 1v2 is gonna be AMAZING
When 2 survivors are left in a hopeless match because there's 2 or more gens left, the whole rest of the match is gonna be even more brutal.
-Can't even die on hook to give your teammate more time for hatch escape. There is a "go next" prevention, probably removing the kobe mechanic. Even if this "mechanic" is deactivated when 2 survivors are left, the killer can still just let you slugged.
-Can't even surrender when you are in the dying state to give your teammate the hatch. The so-called "anti slug surrender option" is only gonna be activated when your teammate is also in the dying state, which means it's pointless for this situation.
-Can't even hide for a chance to escape (you know, the whole point of playing survivor is… escape). There's gonna be a "hiding prevention" too.
Edit: And how can I forget? A possible anti-AFK mechanic, so it means if you are slugged and go afk, somehow your teammates picks you up, or even the killer only to drop you later, and you are still AFK, you might get a penalty.
It's gonna be amazing guys, can't wait!
My slugging Wraith with Knock Out will love this btw

How about not finding yourself in such a situation? if you 2 left and cannot fix the generators, you have failed, and forcing the killer to run around the map for 20 minutes and look for you is not the most interesting thing
13 -
True, thats why I have been saying this for a long time: The objective of the game should be 2k, not 4k. As soon as the 2nd survivor is dead, the remaining 2 are sacrificed by the entity.
0 -
But Isn't that a problem? If half the survivors are dead it means game over? If half the gens are done, it doesn't mean game over for the killer.
15 -
Just try to make efforts on the objective. If you get caught and downed in chase…Game over..
3 -
I agree, I think hooks need to be removed and survivors should die on 1st down
2 -
So you are the one who says that 2 survivors is a defeat2 survivors can still repair generators, etc., but usually hide for 20 minutes on the edge of the map without touching the generator, and it is from such survivors who hold the game hostage that the new system will save
2 -
I don't know about all of that, I mean survivors should get a fair chance to keep moving foward if they can. The game will very quickly come to a close anyways if you were already that far behind on your gens.
0 -
No, 2 survivors can't repair generators, no
4 -
And what magic prevents survivors from repairing generators?
4 -
Why? It's a near statistical impossibility to complete objectives in a 2v1. It's actively detrimental to achieving the only win condition survivors have left. What possible reason do they have to not hide?
12 -
Its better to try for the objective, than just hide it out for an eternity. Its boring gameplay and its boring for the killer. I have won plenty of 2v1 situations, so I wouldnt say impossible.
3 -
Not gonna address you anymore, clearly bait
5 -
No survivors are gonna play a match where the game ends and they automatically lose as soon as two other people die. That would decimate solo Q since people can’t control how well their teammates play. Youre basically suggesting killers get handed a 4K for killing 2 people. May as well just make the game a PvE and get rid of the survivor role at this point
4 -
But look of what survivors can do at the current and future 1v2
1 -
How about just open the hatch at that point? The killer can leave the slug at the chance that the slug might find the hatch, or close the hatch and possibly trigger Adrenaline. He could go hook that survivor at the risk that the other will find hatch. If someone finds the hatch and the other has a key, then there is a risk of a double hatch escape.
Really a simple solution.1 -
Then maybe they should've just called this a running around game instead of a horror game about hiding from the killer who wants to murder you. What is the point of any of the hiding perks if now you won't be able to hide? Also how is the people who are alive fault when it is impossible to keep your teammates from making dumb decisions? Maybe you want everyone to play in a swf squads and that is it because that is the only way you can win as survivor.
4 -
Except they are about to nerf keys and maps in the second half.
1 -
The correct term is boring for the killer only. So he gets 2 kills and now we got 2 other people left to kill. Oh no THOSE TWO SURVIVORS DARE NOT TO SHOW UP AND DIE TO ME how dare they. Entity please murder these idiots they should not be able to hide from meeeeee. And the Entity will be like WELL OKAY MAN and the survivors die instantly. VERY NICE then the entity realises wait a second WITHOUT ANY HOPE OF ESCAPE THEY WILL JUST easily be dead and there won't be anything interesting. Yeah I guess boring for you. What about the people who suck at chase and want to hide. Nah screw them they don't get to decide how they wanna play. Nah why should they right it is boring for the killer to just go around and search. I mean it is not like he just killed 2 people super fast or killed them at 2 gens or 3 gens. Nah he really needs to get this over with quicker. Well alrighty then if you dont want 2v1 situations how about we just have no survivors and problem is solved. Survivors just say we give up and everyone just leaves the match. I guess that will be more fun for whoever is playing killer right. Or you just want to have fun by killing the last two who are somewhat fully doomed almost you just gotta make it official. In any case its ######### hilarious how SO MANY people want to remove hiding as an option. I mean it is so fun.
1 -
Aside from the hiding mechanic, which should be thing to prevent those needlessly drawn out games, nothing else really seems that different to it is now. You can still be slugged for the 4k and you can’t surrender right now, so how is this making it worse when it’s basically the same?
We have no idea how the anti-AFK, anti-Go Next, and anti-hiding will actually work. So maybe we should wait to actually see how these changes go before jumping to conclusions.
2 -
Nope, maps will get a rework(I'm assuming green maps to basically be iri maps, and iri maps gaining the ability to see injured survivors and have a bigger range) and probably a range buff overal.
Keys will probably see blood amber nerfed in terms of aura distance(probably 24 meters instead of 32, but green keys buffed in aura duration and other addons being buffed aswell. I am expecting Gold Token to be buffed to 64 meters, Eroded Token to show yourself to other survivors in 64 meters and the duration addons to be doubled in power.
In fact, if they have ever listened to people like me, Purple keys will remain to be 5 seconds, Skeleton keys will be 10 seconds instead of 30 and green keys will be 30 seconds instead of 10.0 -
I mean, I hope you're right, but I have lost all hope with BHVR.
0 -
I've explained all in the other comment. Basically, there is millions of money at stake if they dont. They are kinda forced to
0 -
I'm not expecting to win every time with survivor.
I'm not even expecting to win half the time.
All I want is that when I lose, it not to be boring.
3 -
Can you tell me, how I can avoid it when my two random teammates die quickly because they get tunneled? And please dont say "take the chase", because I have yet to figure out how I can pull a Killer into chasing me instead of Baby Meg.
10 -
Exactly. Try to win, or you don't. People are not entitled to a free escape just because they're in a losing match. That has been so unhealthy for the game for years. The killer doesn't get a random mechanic that says, "Even though you lost this match, randomly get a free kill."
Hiding for 20 minutes stems from the free escape mechanic, but even if such a thing wasn't present, survivors could just do it anyway. Survivors can hide for a theoretically infinite amount of time right now, basically holding the game hostage, and sure you can report them for doing it, but they're still able to do it. Why not just show their auras after a certain amount of time of not doing anything? This solution has been held back by people basically saying, "The killer should never be able to find or see me." because they can't hold their own in chase, and think that they'll magically win by never touching generators.
People can call this a killer-favoring solution an abusable solution, an attack on casuals, killer power fantasy, etc. But we've dealt for years with unreasonable solutions to things that could have been fixed by skilled play. Survivors hiding forever, and the killer finding them, there's no skill in it. It's just chance that the killer finds them after a certain amount of time. So if there was ever a time for an "unreasonable" or "killer sided" solution, it's now, in this instance.
4 -
You're missing the point. I am not asking for the last 2 survivors to serve themselves up on a plate and lay down to be moried. I am asking you to finish the game. Do your objective. Hide when you NEED to. Period. Nothing more nothing less. Stop hiding for long periods of time and bouncing from locker to locker to locker…
1 -
the anti hide isn’t going to do anything. They’ve already said how it’s going to work. If you get idle crows your aura is revealed to the killer instantly. But no one is just standing in the same spot immobile whilst playing for the hatch. A pointless change.
Nothing BHvR have said they’re going to do will solve the problems the game has.
0 -
But that’s the point, maps are often so small and gens take so long you basically cannot do the objective at this point.
Especially when it’s a dead lock of the killer downing one survivor every time someone gets them back up and leaving them on the floor which I’ve had happen plenty of times.
The game needs to make the objective more accessible proportionally to how many survivors are in the match. That’s how this problem is fixed. But that would take actual work on BHVRs part.
0 -
It will help. Either get idle crows and the killer now knows where you are or the survivor is force to walk around the map which will likely get caught.
This is a huge W development update for BHVR in the near future. Everything they mentioned is going to help in some capacity. They can make adjustments as needed
1 -
but walking around the map until they get caught is exactly what’s happening now and is exactly what killers are complaining about, because it’s ’wasting their time’. This update doesn’t resolve that. Just as the surrender option won’t disincentivise slugging. It’s all a way of making it look like they’re doing something when they’re not really doing what they need to do.
1 -
You are missing the point as well. There is no reason to. The main objective for the surviors is to get out. There is no benefit to doing a generator if unwinnable. The reason they hide is for hopes of a hatch, which will in turn let them have a chance to achieve the objective of escaping. Therefor saying just do a gen is pointless because it will not get them towards the objective. They need to incentivize survivors when they are at a massive disadvantage, much like they gave killers multiple extra attempts at securing kills even if the match was unfavorable for them, Ex. Various survivor perks being disable in end game, perks like Noed, fire up, and remember me. Also with the new anti go next. The game could in theory detect that you are going next when getting caught on a gen or whatever dumb tools they use to detect it and you still get penalized, I EASILY see that system failing its job and punishing people incorrectly, (a killer tunnels a player out fast they get penalized, a Survivor gives up on their second hook to try to give the last survivor hatch, Penalized, Survivors will get punished for trying to utilizing what little skill or agency they have.) If you want survivors to do the objectives and continue the game then they need a buy in to having a chance at completing the overlying objective of the game for them which is to survive. And none of those changes do that so I do not believe you will see much improvement in behavior.
These changes go counter to what they recently been pushing. Example, They are listing that a surrender moment for killers is if all the players are bots, yet in the most recently 2v8 they are adding bots. If the anti hiding feature is going to instantly reveal someone why are we waiting until the third crow to make the body blocking stop, the first crow will reveal that players locations to the killer so now you just have someone still trapped who the killer knows their spot too. Blood point incentives are literal trash and I don't think anyone is excited at the prospect of hanging in for a longer match that is unwinnable to get a little bit more of the useless points.0 -
But trying to do a generator in a 2v1 is the equivalent of serving themselves on a plate to the Killer, as the Killer will find you. Yes, you can loop, but can you be sure that your teammate will be doing the gens during that time? Or will they be hiding, waiting for the moment when you inevitably go down?
4 -
Yeah the update sounds promising but this all occurred to me as well. I don't have a problem with just giving myself up when it's an unwinnable 1v2, but they're likely to leave me on the ground to try find the 4th survivor. Happens all the time.
3 -
" The main objective for the surviors is to get out."
Yes the main objective for survivors is to get as many out as possible. Do the gens. I have had so many 2v1 games where both of us got out because we rotated. The killer can only go after one person.
3 -
Sounds like a poor teammate. I always do the gen. That's the objective. So in hopes we both can get out. Half the time it works. People just wanna take the easy way out. Die. So the other person can go for hatch.
2 -
Yeah, but the other person is usually slugged.
1 -
Then ask yourselves, what could have been done differently? Why are we in this situation? What mistakes were made along the way? Did we 3 gen ourselves? How could I have played this differently? Maybe there is something that needs to be improved on..How did it get like this? There are A LOT of factors to keep in mind.
2 -
Yeah, it's a poor teammate, but those are much more common. Dying isn't just the "easy way out," but it's the inevitable.
1 -
I’ve asked myself those questions. I’ve tried to do things differently but the truth of the matter is the game in its current state facilitates that playstyle for killers.
1 -
I've said it before, my suggestion to address the "hiding" when 1v2 is for the killer to have the option to start the EGC at any time when 2 survivors are left. So much better and it would help´everyone.
5 -
I'd give them a break we don't know the exact specifics.
0 -
I can get behind that idea, actually.
3 -
As a killer main, I disagree kindly. I win most of my matches and I dont have to do all of that.
0 -
I personally can’t be bothered to hide in a 2v1. I’ll be on the gen until I’m pryed off it in 2v1, and I’ll look the killer dead in the eyes bc we both know exactly what’s going on, and doing one isn’t in my best interest. Both victims of a flawed in game mechanic.
1 -
I've witnessed numerous instances where we strategically alternate keeping the killer in chase to complete the final two generators. The game should not be adjusted in a way that negatively impacts endgame strategies.
1 -
but just because you don’t do it personally, doesn’t mean a plethora of other killers aren’t doing it. Unfortunately the vast majority of matches I get down to final two this happens. It’s needs addressing and if it’s truly not something you do, it won’t affect you.
2 -
Yes we do. They’ve explained it in the thread that announced it.
0 -
I am not worried about it, truly. I am glad bhvr is making these changes.
0 -
I do this too. Then i get dropped on the floor to bleed out while they try find the other survivor. The extreme hiding change means my team mate is more likely to pick me up now, so it'll be rinse and repeat - keep getting grabbed off a gen, dropped on the floor. Extending an unwinnable game. I'd like a surrender option in this scenario too.
Edit: and it just occurred to me - with the new go next deterrent, does this mean letting myself get grabbed off gen in this scenario will penalise me?
2 -
Hard to believe, but to be fair it's not impossible. Only happens once every 100 "1v2" games
