They couldn’t wait to ruin 2V8
They couldn’t wait to ruin a fun idea by throwing in the sweatiest killers to immediately suck the fun out.
This was the perfect game mode to have basic M1 killers who are too slow for the base game have some fun against vanilla survivors with vanilla perks and vice versa, but no.
Now every game is another sweat fest with nothing but Nurse, Wesker, Spirit and Legion.
Whats next Skull Merchant?

Basic M1 killers are not going to have fun in 2v8, the pallet density is insane, you need a strong power to deal with it. You're basically saying they should have just added weak killers so survivors can have fun.
Legion is not a sweaty killer either, they are a beginner hit and run killer whose effectiveness falls off sharply against experienced players.4 -
Most people (survivors and killers) are playing 2V8 for some goofy fun and to get away from the sweatiness that is the current base game. The fun from playing Killer in this mode is having a mate to hunt with you which significantly reduces the stress of playing killer by yourself. likewise it’s a more chill experience with the survivors having the most basic perks and passive abilities that bring the experience back down to a vanilla, tag like experience.
However solely throwing in killers who were designed to deal with the ever growing meta of the base game into this mostly vanilla sided survivor mode makes this game mode just as sweaty as the base game and one sided.1 -
Legion was my problem in this mode and I have not played it since the first day.
Legion is not OP by themselves but in 2v8 the continual free injures with frenzy are a BIG problem with a second killer in play. I also play the medic role all the time and that role is pretty much hard countered by Legion.
I almost feel bad for BHVR as the RE theme was a big potential draw but I honestly feel this was the worst 2v8 and entirely due to Legion.

I do think it was kinda crazy of them to add Blight and Spirit at the same time in the last version. And with Wesker joining them for version 3, there are not too many ultra strong Killers left to add to the mode. Nemi would be pretty strong in this mode as well, if he could tier up a little quicker. I'm personally not enjoying all the 3 bounding stealth weskers running about.
But I can see why they mostly added the speedy Killers first, because any Killer that has mobility issues in the regular game is going to really struggle on these huge maps unless they commit to patrolling a gen cluster. Perhaps their powers were the easiest ones to adapt for 2V8 for that reason.
They could add more Survivor classes to encourage "wasting time" by opening chests and booning, to balance the mode for a slower pace of action (I think they should do this anyway). But then you might have the same problem as the Halloween event, when Killers would never collect any Haunts because it didn't really help them much with their objective. After all, Killers don't have anything in this mode to do other than to chase Survivors.
The only thing stopping this from being the sweatiest mode ever is the complete lack of match making, imho. That's why I think they really need to get those Killer queue times down. No casual Killer will want to wait 15-20 minutes to get steamrollered, so by attrition they'll begin to drop out and only the most dedicated Killer mains will remain. Likewise, if casual Survivors are escaping only about as much as they might in the regular mode, they'll probably drop out too if the games begin to feel too sweaty. Especially as Killers learn to predict cage spawns and frequently co-ordinate to double team.
It's a silly mode with lots of broken, imbalanced things in it but it could easily tip over into sweaty unfun territory if BHVR aren't careful and something they do pushes a chunk of the player base away. I can see Legion doing that (although I don't think they're a problem, many other players seem to).

Its odd to say that it's more sweaty NOW considering what was already in the 2v8 game mode. Nurse and Blight have been in it with ATON of buffs over their basekit, but somehow a nerfed version of Legion with the equivalent of 1 brown addon is MORE sweaty?

Disagree. If 1 killer can be adapted for this mode, all of them can be. A lot of the complaints against these killers like Wraith and Legion are coming from really casual folks, like they can't even run a basic M1 killer, even with all these pallets. Can't really explain it otherwise. Good survivors have no issues vs these killers in 1v4. Their performance does not drastically shoot up just because they're in 2v8 now.

It's not really fair to say the mode is vanilla sided for survivors, classes are very strong and pallet density is very high. Strong killers are necessary to deal with how fast survivors can be healed and with how many pallets they have.
Your argument is boiling down to "2v8 is killer sided" which is highly debatable and i do not think it is.2 -
Huntress and Nurse were both in the first iteration of the game mode. I'm not sure where this "m1 killers only" thing is coming from.

Wraith is my most disliked killer. I'm happy to not see him as mich. I don't like the original cast much

M1 only killers seems more like fun only for survivors lol. With all these pallets + the ability to restore them, it sounds like hell for M1 only killers, unless you 2v1 which is not fun for survivors either. Plus, most killers wouldn't event be playable ever in that mode since they are not basic M1, would be soon repetitive.
Also, why do we keep using Skull Merchant as the ultimate example of horror? She's long gone and current skull merchant wouldn't make matches worse (for survivors at least 🤣) in 2v8.

To have "basic m1 killers agains vanilla survivors"?
Bro you have 80 palettes next to each other, and not even trash palettes but sometimes 2 big rockloops, 2 jungle jims, main AND probably some trash palettes. We don't even talk about the fact that you have classes that do insane things at times and herbs that heal you instantly or even give you an entire hookstate.
I wouldn't touch this mode with an m1 killer at all, even with a killer like blight, wesker or hillbilly this amount of palettes, and other things randomly happening because of classes, kills you sometimes. You won't be able to keep up with the survivors if you play m1 and they have anything in their head.
