The Game health update (an opinion)
Hi, I post on here occasionally & I just wanted to do something I've done before. Allow for conversation & freedom of opinion by simply putting mine out there too. So without further ado, let's talk the game health updates:
Firstly I will say I am glad Bhvr have finally had their hand forced because this game really needs a delay on new stuff to focus on not just the game state but also the actual code holding it all together. Making serious actual proper fixes, it's nice to see. Took long enough.
That's not to say we're without worry though; as far as the slugging surrender state stuff, I am sceptical. I need more info I reckon we all do. It's hard to say right now if it's a good thing or not. It could backfire in a big way or it could finally provide that simple escape from an otherwise grueling experience that would just help most of our sanity XD That said also though with the possibility of the "go next" problem address these could clash in a bad way also. Again it's best really to wait for more info but as you can see already & as is present in the community already this is not all guaranteed to make or break the game state whatever they do, we can only hope.
On the topic of "go next" though, while I do hate that players will just do this on first hook given the state the game is in & how unfun games can be at times I also can't blame them. While a bot would be preferred it's also just not a great experience for anyone involved in some of the games that can make players just want to "go next" it's tough to say solidly what needs addressing more but I'd hope after all these updates we'd reach a consensus that's fair enough. I have to say though as a side note I am afraid we will take away yet another core mechanic that's been in the game since the start the ability to unhook yourself, I don't want to see this go away as an 'up the ante' 'slippery meat' enjoyer it's an element I like to have fun with from time to time that also can save your bacon when you need it. I'd hate to think like a few other core mechanics it would be changed or removed to make way for a "healthy" solution. I don't think that's what would need addressing. But again we don't know yet how they plan to.
Next, the extreme hiding. This has layers to why I feel so strongly about it, but in short I am hoping this won't just act as yet another bait tool for a survivor literally just trying to do their job. You see, I am a firm believer that when it comes down to the killer & 1 survivor that survivor no matter how good they are these days is screwed. They've had every chance taken away once hatch is closed & even if they haven't been hooked so they're screwed. I don't want yet another reason for the survivor to feel like there's just no hope. Getting baited out by another random mechanic. However, we also I'm sure have those games where one player gets way too scared way too quick or simply refuses to see the light of day until right at the end, they probably helped but did so seemingly completely invisible to everyone else in the match. If this tool will somehow or someway make these players gain a backbone maybe it's a good thing XD
Lastly just some silly throwaways, the BP spending I HAVE TO KNOW MORE! The same could also be said for the loadout slots, because I don't know if anyone else cares but I'd love to know if this means maybe we can get more outfits slots too. I dunno. Anyway, if you read this far thanks I'd appreciate any other opinions or even just thoughts of anyone else here on ANY part of the updates mentioned by the Devs. Let's hope DbD can improve with it all though, good luck in the fog & in all your games players.
