improve console performance!
The console version of DBD has two problems. The first is that it takes a long time to open the game! I play on PS5 and it's the only game that takes at least a minute to start, which is absurd in 2025. But the main problem is how long it takes to find matches when crossplay is disabled. Being in control and playing against people using a mouse is terrible! Those on the computer have a huge advantage. When crossplay is disabled, it's practically impossible to find matches... I had stopped playing dbd YEARS ago because of this problem, but it persists.

I agree with the load times being super long, it takes almost two minutes to get to the select surv or select killer rosters, which indeed is embarrassing in 2025. And I'm on an Xbox series X.
The issue with CrossPlay is another matter. How it works now is players that turn CrossPlay off are isolated not only all other platforms but their own too who still have it on. Which is practically everyone by default.
So players like you on a PS5 who turn it off would now only be matched with others on a PS5 who also have it turned off. None on a PS4 at all, nor any other platforms. So a tiny pool of players indeed to pull from.

Odd. I haven't had an issue with load times. I doubt many people play console only hence the long queue times since the game is pretty friendly to succeed on as an xbox user or ps5.

I didn't know about the last part! It's worse than I thought

Really odd. Dbd is literally the only game I have problems with loading, and I seem to be not the only one.

And that's why those queue times are so delightful when you turn CrossPlay off.

Do you buy your characters from the Microsoft store or in game? I found out that after you by them from the platforms store or the Microsoft store, that you can delete them and it will load the the role you pick faster.
