Country Representation in DBD

I've noticed a good number of conversations have come up about this across the net. I wouldn't personally use a flag, but a lot of people, especially those who are patriotic, would love this addition implemented into DBD. I do think sporting a charm or Banner/PFP with a person's main of that country would look pretty clean; there's many other games that have country representation and the controversial flags could be simply removed as not to spark an unnecessary heated discussion. As a buddy said before "LGBT or country, a flag represents its people".

I support the idea of having flag charms/banner/PFP for different countries. To avoid clutter in an already clunky and messy UI, they could just make them redeemable codes.

Personally I dont see any need for this. But this is also mainly because a huge part of the people in my country who call themselves patriots are just far-right delusional people, so I dont really get this "being proud of your country"-thing.

which ones would count as ‚controversial‘?

Ukraine and Russia? What about USA? Taiwan?

Will you just remove flags when some situations happen/change?

I feel like this would lead to too much discourse and BHVR will get hate for including/exlcuding certain flags anyway

this is discussed every month. someone will definitely create a topic on the forum asking about flags. and every time you have to explain that it is a bad idea. above they write about Ukraine and Russia, but I saw 1 million posts from the Arab community. do you know about the relations between Arabs and Jews? then China and Japan, the two largest communities. The support will burst from the number of reports

Would also love to see country flags. There are already some American Flags in the game (Cosmetics and on a bunch of Maps) and we also have Canada themed Charms. That's really cool. We have so many themed Killers/Survivors. like Haddie from India, Felix from Germany etc. but no flags. It's a shame and would add so much more to these characters.

The issue is that the way countries interact with other countries is something beyond BHVR’s control and can easily lead to players being targeted, harassed, and/or treated poorly based on whatever country they are from or they represent. This is why BHVR will probably never implement this.

Keep in mind, I don’t personally mind if they would implement this, but I’m stating from BHVR’s perspective, they probably wont.

Question: How many countries are there? Because there are certain places where there are, lets just say differing opinions, on if they are countries or not. And I don't think BHVR wants to make statements on that.

This would be a really cool addition. Other games, sporting events, international events and so on have used country flags for decades for representation.

Maybe come anniversary they will have something to announce..?
