another matchmaking post while i am searching for a match
ok so, i am from south america and me and my friends were really happy with the new matchmaking, but i heard a lot of people saying it is trash, but they never gave me a reason, can someone explain that to me?
also, now that matchmaking is reverted, i love waiting 35 mins as a killer again, to get a bugged lobby with 3 survs that does not know the lobby is bugged.

The problem with it was that you could litrally verse rank 1s as rank 20 player and on top of that they could come from the other side of the world.

The matchmaking system was just being tested and now they want to fix some of its problems. I see nothing wrong.

Oh yes. Reverting it makes the matches soooo balanced.
Solo queue.

I don't have the time to check my lobbies right now, but maybe you could for yours. Patricia posted in the past hour that MM has been changed again:

@Kilmeran just tried. Got a game in under a minute. Left to try again. Got another in just about 2.
Happy atm. As long as it doesnt get abysmally long later in the night.

Mine are erratic at best. Just tested three times. I'm on PC in the U.S.
First time, got a Rank 19 killer match in about 4 minutes total time, between finding a match (time unknown) and then it flipping over and four survivors popping in. My Survivors were ranks 15-11. Managed to have one DC after I downed them. Scarified one. Hooked the other two one or two times each. In the end, two escaped.
Second time, it took me a little over 8 minutes for it to flip over and survivors then fill it. Survivors were around the same ranks, managed a 3k.
Third time, I never found a match in the 15 minutes I let it run, so ESC'ed out closed down the game.
What is obvious to me is that there are very few people in the gray ranks, which is why all my matches (even before the first revert) consistently have Survivors in the rank 15-11 range. Once they make the next adjustment to get rid of the Rank disparity, if I'm still in gray ranks (since I don't play DbD as a main game), then I'd probably be better served not playing at all. The main thing I'm reading from that is that DbD is not bringing in enough new players at this point, so the gray ranks are a wasteland. Which is a shame.
That was the issue I had when I bought the game last summer, and why I stopped playing before I could get out of the gray ranks. The lobby times are so horrendous in those ranks, that I spent far more time looking for a match than playing in one. I'm just not willing to spend more time in lobbies than matches, especially when it's a matter of a double grind: bloodpoints and Pips.

Oof that's not good. I'm on ps4 to be fair. And it was midday. Like inside I hope it's as good later tonight, but for now it seems better than the 30 mins guarantee wait.

My real test will be tonight between 9pm and midnight, east coast time. That's my usually available window to play video games. So, how my Rank 19 queues are during that time will determine whether or not I should invest time in DbD right now.

Fair enough. I just got a game in under a minute with no dcs and all between 12 and 14, but it's not when I usually play. It's also still early in the afternoon compared to playing the 10pm-2am window.

Yeah, seems like we have similar play-time windows. On weekends when I can play, I usually run 10pm to around 2am, myself.

Never mind on this post. :)
