Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Would be cool to see a Killer power with some sort of Vertically mechanic

I would like to see some vertically in killer power design. A killer being able to go up those RPD holes or going up coal tower 2nd floor doors would be cool. There’s plenty of holes in maps that can be used like this like but also there some maps with no verticality but that’s why it’s should be part not all. It be like how billy does better in open maps rather that small maps or the temple of purgation realm. Im thinking it works kind of a grappling hook but also not because it be cooler to have some sort of creature being able to levitate rather than a human with a grappling gun. Some more examples of how this can be useful is

Haddonfield- balcony’s

Midwhich- 2nd floor drop downs

Greenville square- behind the movie theater drop down

Shattered squared- Drop down at the main building in shattered square

Well nurse is nurse. She does everything better than everyone. If the only point in playing dbd was to win no one would play anyone but nurse and blight.

The problem with a verticality power is largely map dependence. It would likely rely heavily on getting open maps, becoming even more hobbled than Blight or Billy on indoor maps, and depending on the implementation, would likely be far too strong on the maps it's good for. This is also assuming it's based on flight; something like a grappling hook would suffer even more, let alone merely climbing.

Otherwise, it would also struggle to be engaging without being horribly fickle to tune, in the interest of keeping it from invalidating loops as well as trivializing map traversal and thereby dominating the macro game without any real effort.

Well, I already suggested a spider killer with wall crawling mechanics like the alien part of AVP2.

But this would A) be horribly broken and B) probably be impossible with this games engine.

i dont think the engine is a problem. Its unreal engine 5. Just lot of work and much easier to just mix different killers power into one
