How Do I “Just Get Better”

At the Tokyo event the Japanese player base asked a question on if there were any plans to help The Huntress since she has one of the lowest kill rates and a certain fellow answered “No plans, just get better.”

So I was wondering how might I get better when the nearest locker is 30 meters away? Dredge is wondering the same I’m sure. Also how do I get better on indoor maps? Is there a secret to landing orbitals and snipes on indoor maps? And lastly how do I get better at loops I actually can’t use my power at despite being a 110% killer?

But maybe it is for the best because a lot of my losses are almost exclusively because of the map (roughly 80% of my losses). So maybe it is fair to have a map that is essentially an automatic loss? Idk I’m just spitballing.

Any tips would be helpful, thanks.

Edit: I should’ve specified but I am Top 1% Huntress mains world wide and top .05% in 24 meter hatchet downs. Asking for tips was me being jaded.

I think a big issue is that she doesn't have inbuilt crosshairs and aiming on console (where you can't add in a crosshairs with 3rd-party software) is really hard. It would be nice if BHVR could add one in for her so at least one disadvantage is leveled out.

So, regarding improvement: I usually play with no add-ons for a while when learning a killer, then try everything over time to see how it feels.

I'm not a huntress player, personally, but if you're having issues with hatchet economy, you can try adding hatchets to compensate slightly for locker spawns. As your aim improves you shouldn't need them as much. There are also wind up speed add-ons and shiny pin for movement speed during wind up that might help with loops.

Regarding maps: there's no perfect map for all killers. Killers like huntress and nurse would prefer an empty field with nothing to obscure line of sight, while someone like ghost face would be unplayable on that. The opposite extreme is true, where GF needs los blockers to approach, but those actively hinder other killers.

Maps can still be playable though, even if not perfect. You can, for example, throw hatchets down a hallway on lery's, but can't orbital strike like you could on dead dawg. Those are techniques you'd learn along the way, and possibly watching some content creators who have mastered huntress would help there.

there’s a streamer on twitch that goes by Tokki. She plays huntress a good bit(mostly a pig main), plays survivor and killer though. Anyways she’s super nice, a nerd, and always answers questions anyone has that can be helpful. I generally recommend her to most people.

HybridPanda also pretty good and answers viewer questions about the game. Plays both sides, but plays all killers on a rotation(and overall pretty good with just about any one he picks up). He’s funny and chill. Also on twitch.

I like them a lot for just

    1. Their attitudes

    2. They’re attentiveness to be helpful if you’re curious about something

    3. Tokki has really great game knowledge, but hybridpanda has hands down some of the best skills ive ever seen on watching a killer play. Anyways yeah though both great ppl that I highly recommend for killer content.

I suggest checking out Hext on Twitch. Awesome Huntress player.

I should’ve specified but I am Top 1% Huntress mains world wide and top .05% in 24 meter hatchet downs. Asking for tips was me being jaded. Because I know I can’t just get better on indoor maps and loops where I can’t use my power.

I do appreciate you actually trying to help tho lol.

I should’ve specified but I am already Top 1% Huntress mains world wide and top .05% in 24 meter hatchet downs. Asking for tips was sarcasm which I should know doesn’t translate in text. You can’t just get better on indoor maps and loops where I can’t use my power.

I appreciate you trying to help tho lol.

Very much needed as it took her from 46-50% on average to a steady 54%. But still indoor maps, map clutter and lockers need changes in a big way to justify her being 110% still. Same with Slinger.

Ooo what number are you in 24+ meter downs I'm sitting at like 150ish trying to get to the top 100

576! Idk what build you use but I love to use Lethal, Gearhead, NTH and BBQ.

Giving her basekit shiny Pin would’ve went a long way and despite what people were saying wouldn’t have made her problematic at all even remotely. Still couldn’t land hatchets at small loops.

Definitely could zone better but Demo is a much better zoner since he moves at 115% holding shred and can immediately cancel into an M1. Xeno moves at 115% with his tail ready and PP Head moves at 110% with ROJ.

Shiny pin wouldn’t even fix any problems actually. Neither her no slinger need to be 110% with how many loops they can’t use their power at.

Well if either of them were released today they would've def been 115% speed. People can say what they want but 110% speed is atp just a remnant of old dbd killers design … Pretty sure not even the devs could answer why Houndmaster moves at 115% speed while Deathslinger's still stuck at 110%.

You're not getting Shiny Pin basekit, no matter how many times you ask lmao.

Oh I don't use perks or add-ons I've never used aura, aside from my community request every once in a blue moon, but your build is definitely solid for sure.

As far as shiny pin, it was basekit in 2v8 and didn't make bad huntresses good or good huntresses even better tbf, at long loops your still gonna get cooked and at short loops you would've gotten the hit anyway. It nice because in very niche scenarios it makes some loops counterable without having to drop hatchet and bloodlust due to the dread 110%.

Yeah I know. Survivors were crying, screaming and throwing up because the slowest killer in the game can’t move slightly faster while still being the slowest. The only slower killer is Nurse and stalking Meyers.

I guess we should make it to where survivors can’t drop pallets sometimes right? That would be fair since I’m a 110% killer who can’t use their power sometimes.

The last thing you want is for the Devs to look at Huntress.

  • Member Posts: 283

Exactly. I know why they won’t do it tho. Survivors pay the bills and they can’t upset their little wallets. Literally neither of them would be overpowered at 115% at all. Such an outdated mechanic.

Honestly you’re right. “We noticed Xenomorph isn’t doing so well and has a low pick rate, so we decided to nerf them into an unplayable state!” - Devs

Honestly goes to show how much they cater to survivors because she got nerfed because the tail was “undodgeable” what a joke

If youre so good, why soo weak?

  • Member Posts: 214

Fair enough. Yeah, sarcasm doesn't always work out well in written form.

    I'll see myself out….

“Honestly goes to show how much they cater to survivors”

    This isn’t 2017 anymore
