I disagree - I know their reputation proceeds them, but they keep bringing it up. People also seem to think because it’s not our “timing” they forgot

The survey is a very small part of it, and its more data driven for our side rather than part of the feedback process. The feedback will be what we take from forums, reddit, steam etc when we post the update.
And yes, we definitely read the feedback and share the information with the design team, we wouldn't do this if it wasn't something that would be used - would be a complete waste of everyone's time. The last Design Preview on the Trickster, ensured that a design didn't go through that people weren't onboard with for the most part, hence changes are being made based on that feedback.

As a casual Skull Merchant main i was NOT expecting anything in the form of reworks this soon, even if its just a preview of sorts.

This gives people a chance to give feedback to behavior and then make adjustments to see if that’s going to work, if not back to the drawing board before I ever hit PTB or live so it doesn’t waste anyone’s time.
Also, then there will be no excuses as to why somebody doesn’t wanna go against her because they had to say in the direction character.1 -

That is true. I won't lie and make claims like old Trickster was good...he wasn't. He sucked.
But yknow, I'm one of the peasants who plays Trickster on xbox; i had fun swapping off m1 killers for a round of Trickster. I was so happy for his buffs but all it did was make me go back to Legion fully

Is it worth buying the Trickster and the Skull Merchant? I don't have these two killers yet. I bought all the survivors first. Or should I wait and see? But that might take a while, right? I haven't been at it that long.

Trickster has some decent perks.
No Way Out is a good perk.
Crowd Control is feast or famine but can win you games.
Starstruck is just fun.
You probably won't get to play as SM, and her perks are all kinda bad to meh; so I can't recommend her.

Depends on your definition of "buying".
With Iridescent Shards? I guess so? Trickster's perks are pretty good and Skully has some cool skins and a rework on the way.
With Auric Cells/real money? Not really, especially not in their current state, if you lack the Iri shards then wait for the reworks.
Everytime an original Killer (not licensed which means not paywalled) comes out, ask yourself this: Will the Killer be fun? Are the perks fun/decent enough to be worth using for more than the Adept? Will the Killer's power design cause mass DC/going next/increased toxicity/giving up which will ruin most of your games?
Depending on the answer to these questions, judge if they are worth real money or if they are merely worth some grinding time.

Ultimately, it is up to your preference.
Both Killers are very different from each other and support unique playstyles. At the very least with Trickster, even if you hate him, you'll still get some good perks.

Don't have your hopes up. This really doesn't mean anything in terms of when rework is going to be released.
Trickster survey happened quite a long time ago and he is not changed yet. I don't remember exact time..

We're looking to do them for the large reworks, rather than regular tweaks.

Trickster is being looked at again by the design team after the previous preview.
And yes, this is just the preview stage, it will take some time before this is implemented in game (if all goes well with the preview).

Read through it and something of a mix between Singularity, Houndmaster and Twins?
Can the ramming drones down survivors or injure only? Potentially really nasty gen defense. Switching between the killer's pov and their powers pov can make it a bit disorienting.

Hot take: What if you went back to square one with Skull Merchant, since nowadays we have the anti-3-gen prevention in place, making Chess Merchant pretty much impossible.

The Skull Merchant rework is awful. It makes no real efforts to preserve what existing Skull Merchant players like about the killer's playstyle, in favor of going for broad appeal by way of homogenization. Making her another basic special attack, projectile killer has NOTHING in common with her existing, unique playstyle. Even IF most of the community prefers this design, that is not valuable— Existing players of Skull Merchant such as Pixel Bush lose their character ENTIRELY for something that does not interest them.
Also, if the idea is to make her feel more tonally consistent, how does THAT translate to her using her expensive, fragile drones as battering rams? That's ridiculous. A pursuer who tracks and renders you weak before actually going for an attack is fitting to the horror genre, but bumper car drones is not.

I would play this killer and have fun with her power. I like that she forces survivors to crouch. That is a fresh and unique mechanic to me, as Hag's are not that common to play against these days.

Also survivors are still going to complain, because now Skull Merchant has a ranged attack she can use globally and can down survivors. So SM players won't be happy. Survivors will won't be happy. And we just get another Freddy situation.
