Totems need a major update

Change where the Totems spawn. I see the killer's Hex totem right next to a tree and a generator from half a map away. This shouldn't be a thing. Make the Totems spawn in obscure places.

Only activate the Hex once the condition is met. A Dull Totem turns into a Hex Totem when the Hex perk activated once. E.g. A Dull Totem turns into Hex: Ruin once a Generator regresses. Hex: Undying spawns once a survivor's aura is shown but if it never did and a Hex totem is cleansed then it should still replace a Dull Totem with the Hex Totem that got cleansed. Etc.

You need skills not hand holding with spawn locations, scout for them problem and problem will be solved or use thrill, if you use 1 hex totem without undying or thrill that's your problem if it get's spotted

Much like DBD RNG is a thing. Hexes are gambles with game changing abilities, but weakness is it can be removed and you cant control where they are created. IF you could they should be a perk related allowing you to set them up but forcing you to burn a perk in the process.

Totem spawns were much much worse say 5 years back than they are now. Part of the problem is as they shrink map size overall things like totems and gens and killer objects all get scrunched closer together as well. Plus as mentioned above RNG has always been part of the risk of running any hex.

I fully support you. Survivors should not cut down the cursed totems at the beginning of the match.

I think that they should make totems have activation conditions that light the totem, like Two Can Play and Face the Darkness already have (or, for totems like ruin that make sense to be active from the start, give them a lock until conditions are met) - just to guarantee at least a teeny bit of value.

It'd go a long way in their usability for sure, especially given hexes are a fun addition to the game most of the time.
