Freezing Issues with Dead by Daylight
Hi everyone,
I’ve recently been testing an M.2 SSD and a SATA SSD on my PC to see how they perform, particularly with Dead by Daylight. I noticed something strange: the game freezes when installed on either SSD, but it runs perfectly fine on my HDD. I tested both types of SSDs to confirm the issue, and the freezing persists on both.
Here are my system specs:
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor @ 3.60 GHz
- RAM: 16.0 GB
- GPU: Rx 5700 xt
My motherboard has support for both M.2 and SATA SSDs, so I was able to install and test the game on each type separately. Unfortunately, I don’t have specific benchmark results to share yet, but the freezing problem caught my attention. It seems to happen only on SSDs, not on the HDD.
Has anyone else experienced freezing issues with the game on SSDs? If so, did you find a fix or workaround? I’d love to hear your thoughts or any advice on how to resolve this!
Thanks!

My primary storage is an M.2 and I've had no trouble with DBD or any other game. Been using it for years.

I was fine until the beginning of March, and then for some reason the freezes started. I don't know what to do, I tried everything possible. Maybe some Windows update broke something, can you tell me your build number?
