Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Skull Merchant Preview: Consider Re-Adding Tracking Icon for Casual Players

I'm in love with everything about The Skull Merchant design preview!

The one thing that I implore we reconsider bringing back, though, is the tracking icon that reveals when you're being tracked:

I think this icon makes Skull Merchant 1,000% more intuitive to play against, and with the incoming Global Detection power, the information that you're being tracked is more important than ever to communicate!

I do not think this makes counterplay too powerful, as it's fairly obvious when we're trackable as Survivor already. This will just provide immediate communication to casual players.

Obscuring the fact that she can track Survivors has only made her more confusing and confounding for players that are unfamiliar with her kit.

Even if it's re introduced in a modified or limited capacity, such as only during the Global Detection event or if it's constantly active at any point you're trackable (rather than only when she's actively tracking, to obscure exactly WHEN she's tracking and rather communicate you're trackABLE), I think this a feature we should strongly reconsider adding back to Skull Merchant to make her more intuitive.

Leaving this out would only result in players dying not because they got outplayed but because they fundamentally don't understand how her power works and that they're trackable.

I actually really REALLY loved that aspect of her design. They just need to make it that it's always visible while you're trackable rather than toggled when she looks at the Radar.

Honestly, there is no reason for it to not come back.

This icon would only show up to players who being tracked, which had the requirement of having Claw Trap or being recently scanned by a Drone, so it was not that hard to tell if the Killer was tracking you at that given time. More experienced Survivors would also often ignore being tracked altogether since they could handle being chased.

I think bringing this back only serves to help new players, it provides a more accurate visual indicator that the Killer is tracking them. On top of that, it helps teach them how the power works instead of throwing them into the fire and flames.

I think this is a great idea! So you never know exactly when she's looking, but the idea is clearly communicated that you're trackable.

At this point everyone knows she can track, it's just new players who would get screwed over by not knowing this unless they are able to play from her PoV.

Regardless of what changes actually make it into the final version of the rework, I think this aspect should stay.

How about we just not have a terrible rework? That is also an option.
