Skullie - Rework & Hope or Delete & Refund?

Member Posts: 172

What's all your opinion about this? You really think their will be a middle ground where we all will be happy with her - or do you think the cycle of hate will start again?..

Do we remember when Tools of Torment was first teased? As far as I remember their was so much hype for this chapter, cause people expected a Predator, or Terminator or at least a Cyborg Killer..

Then Adriana came around and the hate began even before the PTB really started - mostly because of the disappointment and thought that she was a failed Predator license..

Then women started threads that she's just a cheap ######### and represents the opposite of female values. You still read and hear arguments that she's just a pornstar with a weapon.

All in all.. My suggestion would be - and it hurts through and through, cause she's my highest prestiged character - that you make a community poll..

You're already claiming that this Rework happens because of the community.. But with stating "To make her fun to play AS and against" the first lie has already been spoken. People playing AS her already had fun.. This is a one-sided Rework - needed or not is not the question, cause something has to be done! - But I doubt that a Rework will help.

This character WAS, IS and WILL BE hated FOREVER!

So, if you wanna pretend to follow the voice of the community, make a Poll and let it be open for 30 days.

Make a Rework and pray for the best (even though you have MANY other things to fix about this game)

OR

Delete this character and refund us for all we spent on her. Of course you wouldn't do this with real money.. Auric Cells would be the way to go here apparently.

Show some backbone here.. As mentioned above - Rework number X won't help anymore (in my honest opinion)

I personally think it’s way more healthy. But it’ll suck having her lose majority of her stealth. Which I think was a huge part of her identity. I am glad to finally see some type of update for her nonetheless.

Ya.. I just don't see that it'll reduce the hate towards her as character

Absolutely true - no denying that.

But they could! Just because they don't have to by law doesn't mean that they would follow the will of the community after said poll - which probably will never happen, I know that :/

With any luck, this proposal will end up in the same place the Trickster proposal and the Twins rework ended up.

    In the dumpster.

    Try..

Sometimes it's better to just surrender. Feelings are already mixed. Why put in this effort if we have so much else to fix?

Yes, I'm a SM main, but by now I'm ready to let her go - just for the memories

Getting a refund is not an option.

Yeah, and we're probably looking at several months before this even makes it to PTB, so there's plenty of time for refinement.

But I do feel for SM mains who put in a ton of time learning to play her, because if nothing else, this indicates that old SM is dead.

This is the only reason I'm in the rework and hope camp. No chance we get comped fairly for all her bs lol

Nah, all of you are being defeatist and are willing to ignore things right in your face to hate this killer before they come out.

The ONLY issue I have seen be talked about that is accurate to what they've told us so far, is the lack of stealth. Don't get me wrong, It's sad she's less stealthy, however she is still OBVIOUSLY a trap killer. You can still put stealth perks on her if it really means that much to you. Heck, she might even have add-ons that give her extra stealth- they haven't even shown those yet. Out of everything, being upset she is less stealthy is the ONLY remotely justified complain I have seen so far. Everything else feels more like looking for a reason to be upset, to the extent of making stuff up.

If being able to hurt a survivor with the "trap" meant you weren't a trap killer, then even TRAPPER wouldn't be considered one.

"oh but it moves" yeah, if you spend a resource to make it- which runs out passively when controlling it and most likely will do so even more when you try and move it. It's like if people said Death Slinger isn't a ranged killer because you can hit a survivor in melee with the attack. It's added utlity, not the entire point of the power. Not every trap has to be "stay right there and do 'X' when someone steps on you", that would be painfully boring design-wise to work with. That restriction might is probably a good reason why we don't have MORE trap killers. Other than teleporting like hag (and to a much lesser extent dredge), we have almost no killers who place something in an area to make it more dangerous. It doesn't help that once you know the 'threat range' of a trap their usefulness goes into the gutter (again, see trapper, poor guy can't lock down a loop to save his life and that's his gimmick) at least the mobility it gives makes that a changing variable. Heck, like they said it also grants counter play and engagement.

Most of you ignore the fact it still detects survivors like before- it's just now they can't see the area as easily. It's "stealthier" now than it was before, and that's without considering the potential to see a survivor trying to sneak by and get a quick injure. (technically you could do this with red light green light, but I don't hold much hope for that change as they've described it).

Other than the insane amounts of status effects survivors hated, she's not nearly as different compared to what people say- just streamlined, improved, and plenty extra added on top.
